Overview

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 800 CPS is an essential maintenance product for serious RC enthusiasts and bashers across the UK who demand precision tuning and performance from their RC cars. This professional-grade shock absorber oil is specifically formulated to deliver consistent damping characteristics in a wide range of driving conditions, whether you're fine-tuning a competition buggy, running an off-road truck, or enjoying weekend bashing sessions. At 800 centistokes (cSt), this viscosity grade sits in the sweet spot for many popular RC vehicles, offering excellent responsiveness without sacrificing stability.

Corally's commitment to quality shines through in every bottle of this shock oil. The 100% pure silicone formulation ensures that you're getting an unadulterated product with no fillers or additives that could compromise performance or damage delicate shock seals. For RC car UK enthusiasts who understand that suspension tuning is the backbone of handling and lap times, having the right shock fluid in your armoury is non-negotiable. The 150ml bottle size provides ample oil for multiple shock servicing and adjustments, making it economical and practical for regular maintenance routines.

Whether you're setting up a ready to run RC car or fine-tuning a race-prepared build, shock oil viscosity plays a critical role in how your vehicle responds to track conditions. Too thin and your shocks won't provide adequate damping; too thick and your suspension becomes sluggish and unresponsive. The 800 CPS grade from Corally hits that critical balance point that works across numerous vehicle types and configurations, which is why it's become a staple in RC workshops and pit areas throughout the UK and beyond.

Key Features

  • 800 CPS Viscosity Grade — This intermediate viscosity rating provides the ideal balance between damping response and suspension comfort, making it suitable for a wide range of RC vehicles including buggies, trucks, and scale crawlers where precise handling control is essential.
  • 100% Pure Silicone Oil — The formulation contains no fillers, contaminants, or additives, ensuring maximum compatibility with all modern shock seals and internal shock components whilst maintaining consistent performance across temperature ranges.
  • 150ml Bottle Size — The generous bottle size gives you sufficient oil for multiple shock servicing sessions, shock fluid adjustments, and tuning experiments, representing excellent value for RC enthusiasts who regularly maintain their vehicles.
  • Professional Grade Specification — Corally's shock oil meets the high standards expected by competition RC drivers and serious hobbyists, delivering repeatable, predictable damping characteristics that allow you to isolate suspension tuning variables.
  • Consistent Performance Across Conditions — The pure silicone formulation maintains stable viscosity across varying track temperatures and conditions, ensuring your suspension tuning remains effective whether you're racing on hot summer tracks or cool winter surfaces.
  • Easy Application and Control — The measured viscosity allows for precise shock filling and adjustment, giving you complete control over your vehicle's suspension response and enabling fine-tuned customisation for specific track layouts and driving styles.
  • Long Shelf Life and Stability — Pure silicone oils resist oxidation and degradation, meaning your bottle will maintain its properties whether you use it immediately or store it for future builds and maintenance projects.

Technical Performance

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 800 CPS represents the pinnacle of suspension fluid engineering for the RC hobby. At 800 centistokes, this viscosity grade falls within the sweet spot for modern RC vehicles, providing adequate damping force without creating excessive drag that would slow down suspension response. The pure silicone formulation is engineered to maintain consistent viscosity across a broad temperature range, which is crucial for maintaining predictable handling characteristics whether you're bashing on a hot summer's day or running competitive practice sessions in variable spring and autumn conditions. The absence of any additives or fillers means the oil won't break down prematurely, won't gum up shock pistons, and won't compromise the integrity of shock seals over time. This is particularly important for RC car owners who invest in quality suspension components and want them to perform reliably for seasons of use. The 150ml bottle provides enough fluid for comprehensive shock servicing on multiple vehicles or for multiple tuning iterations on a single platform. Professional RC racers and serious hobbyists across the UK specify Corally shock oils because they understand that suspension tuning is where lap times are found, and having a reliable, pure, unadulterated shock fluid is the foundation upon which all other suspension work is built.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What viscosity grade should I choose for my RC car? — Shock oil viscosity is measured in centistokes (cSt), and the correct grade depends on your vehicle type, track conditions, and suspension geometry. The 800 CPS grade is a versatile middle option suitable for buggies, trucks, and general-purpose RC cars; lighter oils like 600 CPS are better for sensitive, quick-response suspension, whilst heavier oils like 1000 CPS suit vehicles requiring more damping force and suspension stability on rougher terrain.
  • Is Corally shock oil compatible with my RC car's shocks? — Yes, Corally's 100% pure silicone formulation is compatible with all modern shock absorbers manufactured by reputable RC brands. The purity of the silicone ensures it won't react with shock seals or internal components, making it suitable for Traxxas, ARRMA, Losi, FTX and other leading RC manufacturers' vehicles.
  • How often should I change the shock oil in my RC car? — The frequency depends on how heavily you use your vehicle. Casual bashers might service shocks every few months, whilst competitive racers often service shocks before important events or after every few hours of running. Regular servicing removes accumulated dust and debris, maintains consistent damping, and extends the life of your shock absorbers.
  • Can I mix different viscosity grades of shock oil? — Mixing different viscosity grades is not recommended, as it will produce unpredictable damping characteristics and undermine your suspension tuning efforts. Always use a consistent viscosity grade and ensure you've fully drained old oil before refilling with new fluid.
  • Why choose pure silicone over other shock fluids? — Pure silicone oils offer superior stability, resistance to oxidation, and compatibility with modern shock seal materials. They don't break down as readily as mineral oils, maintain consistent viscosity across temperature ranges, and don't produce residue that can damage internal shock components.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. Whilst shock oil selection and suspension tuning might seem technical, this 800 CPS grade is forgiving enough for beginners whilst still offering enough sophistication for experienced tuners. Having quality shock oil on hand is essential maintenance regardless of skill level.
  • How long does one 150ml bottle last? — A single 150ml bottle typically services 4-6 shock absorbers depending on size, or allows multiple tuning adjustments on a single vehicle. For casual bashers, one bottle should last several months; competitive racers might use a bottle in a few weeks depending on servicing frequency.
