As an unassembled kit, the SBX-825 7075 Edition gives you complete control over your build and allows you to learn intimately how your RC car works. The assembly time exceeds one day, but this investment pays dividends when you understand every component and can make informed tuning decisions. This is a vehicle for the dedicated RC racer who takes their hobby seriously and wants a platform that can compete at the highest levels.
Key Features
- Revolutionary Dual Chassis Options — For the first time in RC racing, the SBX-825 offers a genuine choice between two advanced chassis designs: a groundbreaking molded carbon fibre chassis that provides unmatched lightweight durability and rigidity with angled kickups for optimal aerodynamics, or a traditional 3mm aluminium 7075-T6 chassis that delivers proven reliability and performance. This versatility ensures the SBX-825 works perfectly for all driving styles and track conditions.
- Pro-Level Drivetrain with CNC-Machined Components — The drivetrain is engineered for durability and efficiency with precision CNC-machined hardened steel bevel gears, heavy-duty U-joints, and three oil-filled gear differentials that ensure smooth power transfer and reliable performance under the toughest competitive conditions. This professional-grade drivetrain is what separates genuine racing buggies from recreational models.
- Aerospace-Grade Carbon Fibre Shock Towers — The 5mm 3K carbon fibre shock towers provide exceptional rigidity and optimised mounting points for shock absorbers and camber links. This aerospace-grade material means your suspension geometry stays perfectly dialled in even during aggressive cornering and high-speed straights.
- Clip-On Caster Adjustment System — Quickly and precisely adjust the caster angle using sliding upper arms and varying clip thicknesses, allowing you to fine-tune your handling characteristics for different track conditions without complicated disassembly. This is the kind of precision tuning feature that separates competition-grade RC buggies from standard models.
- High Downforce Racing Wing — The wing is sculpted specifically to maximise stability and traction during high-speed straights and tight corners, improving overall aerodynamic performance and giving you more confidence at the limit. This is race-proven aerodynamic engineering, not an afterthought.
- Dual Shock Mounting Positions with Fine-Tuning Capability — Aerodynamic upper arms with integrated carbon stiffeners and dual shock mounting positions, combined with adjustable set screws, make the suspension incredibly responsive and customisable. You can dial in your suspension geometry to suit your specific driving style and track characteristics.
- Ball-Type Front Suspension with Precision Pivot Balls — Bash-tested heavy-duty steering blocks combined with ultra-smooth pivot balls featuring special coating ensure precise, frictionless movement. This ball-type suspension delivers the direct steering response that competitive racers demand, without the slop of older pivot designs.
- CNC-Machined Aluminium Rear Uprights — The rear uprights feature CNC-machined aluminium construction with integrated carbon fibre plates and multiple mounting options for maximum stability and adjustability. This allows you to set up your rear end geometry to perfection for your specific racing needs.
- Gear Differential System (3x Oil-Filled) — Three oil-filled gear differentials provide excellent traction management and smooth, progressive power delivery to all four wheels. This is essential for maintaining control and speed through variable terrain.
- Full Ball Bearing Construction with Rubber Shields — All moving components use full ball bearings with rubber seals, ensuring smooth operation and extended component life even in dusty racing environments. This level of build quality is essential for consistent competition performance.
- Hard Anodised 7075-T6 Aluminium Chassis and Braces — The chassis and CNC-machined braces use premium hard-anodised 7075-T6 aluminium, which provides exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion resistance. This aircraft-grade material is chosen specifically for high-performance applications where weight and durability matter equally.
- Polycarbonate Clear Body Shell — The clear, pre-cut polycarbonate body is included along with window masks and a full decal sheet, giving you the flexibility to paint and customise your buggy exactly as you wish.
Technical Performance
The SBX-825 7075 Edition is built to the exacting standards of modern 1/8 scale competition racing. The chassis measures 485mm in length with a 327mm wheelbase, delivering balanced weight distribution and responsive handling characteristics. At 2250g (without battery), the SBX-825 achieves an excellent weight distribution that contributes to predictable handling across the entire speed range. The 58mm ground clearance provides genuine off-road capability without sacrificing low-centre-of-gravity performance. The front and rear tracks both measure 304mm, providing a wide, stable stance that's ideal for high-speed cornering. The battery compartment measures 161x51x49mm and is designed to accept standard 4S LiPo batteries, which are the industry standard for competitive 1/8 scale racing. The 18.75mm shock diameter with 107mm front and 129mm rear shock lengths provide generous suspension travel for absorbing track imperfections whilst maintaining consistent ride height. The drivetrain features a 46-tooth spur gear with an internal drive ratio of 3.31 and an overall drive ratio of 11.71, providing excellent acceleration whilst maintaining top-end performance. Motor recommendations specify a 4268-4274 brushless motor in the 1900-2200KV range, paired with a quality brushless ESC capable of handling the power output. The SBX-825 is shaft-driven 4WD, meaning power is distributed smoothly and predictably to all four wheels through precision machined components. This is a genuine racing platform engineered for serious competitors who demand nothing less than race-winning performance and legendary durability.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Corally SBX-825 suitable for beginners? — No, this is an expert-level kit rated for skill level 5 and requires assembly expertise and RC racing experience. The SBX-825 is designed for experienced racers and serious competitors who understand suspension tuning, electronics setup, and competitive racing techniques. If you're new to RC cars, we recommend starting with a ready-to-run model before progressing to this level of competition platform.
- What battery does the SBX-825 7075 Edition need? — The SBX-825 is designed for 4S LiPo batteries, which should fit in the 161x51x49mm battery compartment. Most competitive racers use batteries in the 3200-5000mAh capacity range, depending on track size and driving style. You'll need a compatible LiPo charger, which is sold separately.
- What electronics are recommended for this buggy? — Team Corally recommends pairing the SBX-825 with the CMM-8 Racing Controller, Pista 805 Sensored Motor, CS-5226 HV Servo, and a Voltax 120C LiPo HV Battery. These components are specifically matched to deliver the precision control, incredible power delivery, and unmatched reliability the SBX-825 deserves. However, any quality 4S-compatible components will work if you prefer different brands.
- How long does assembly take? — Assembly time exceeds one full day, as every component must be carefully assembled and properly tuned. This is not a quick build—it's an investment in understanding your racing platform. Take your time with assembly, as careful construction ensures optimal performance on the track.
- What makes the SBX-825 different from other 1/8 scale race buggies? — The SBX-825 is the only 1/8 scale buggy offering a genuine choice between two completely different chassis designs: a revolutionary molded carbon fibre chassis or a proven aluminium platform. This level of customisation, combined with pro-level components like CNC-machined bevel gears, aerospace-grade carbon shock towers, and three oil-filled differentials, makes the SBX-825 genuinely unique in the market. It's been race-proven by top European competitor Thomas Musso and engineered by Team Corally's Belgium-based research and development team.
- Is this a ready-to-run RC buggy or a kit? — This is an unassembled competition kit that requires assembly and the separate purchase of motor, ESC, servo, radio, battery, and other components. It is not a ready-to-run model. However, this kit approach gives you complete control over your setup and allows you to customise every aspect to your specific racing needs and preferences.
- What is the top speed of the SBX-825? — Top speed depends on your chosen motor KV rating, battery voltage, and gearing setup. With recommended components (1900-2200KV motor and 4S battery), you can expect competitive racing speeds suitable for track racing, though exact figures will vary based on your specific configuration and track conditions.
- Can I use this for bashing, or is it competition-only? — Whilst the SBX-825 is engineered as a competition racing platform, its robust construction with bash-tested heavy-duty steering blocks and durable body mounts means it can handle occasional recreational driving. However, it's optimised for track racing rather than aggressive off-road bashing, and maintenance costs may be higher if used this way.
