Key Features
- Brushless Motor Technology — The brushless motor provides exceptional durability and eliminates the wear issues associated with traditional brushed motors, meaning your servo will maintain consistent performance over thousands of flight hours without degradation, a critical advantage for serious RC flyers.
- High Voltage (HV) Capable — Operating across a 6.0 to 8.4 volt input range, this servo delivers scalable performance that allows you to increase power and speed by simply running higher voltage batteries, giving you flexibility in your power setup without needing multiple servos.
- Outstanding Torque and Speed Specifications — Producing 248 oz-in of torque (17.86 kg-cm) and achieving 0.10 second transit time per 60 degrees at full 8.4V, this servo delivers both the holding power and responsiveness needed for precise aircraft control, whether you're executing smooth turns or quick corrections.
- All-Metal Gear Train — The low-wear, tightly meshed metal gear construction resists stripping and maintains smooth engagement even under high-load conditions, ensuring your servo responds consistently without gear backlash or slipping.
- Dual Ball Bearing Drive Train Support — Precision ball bearings on both sides of the output shaft eliminate lateral play and friction, resulting in smoother operation, reduced noise, and extended mechanical life compared to single-bearing designs.
- Aluminium Centre Case — The aluminium housing provides excellent heat dissipation to keep internal temperatures low during extended flying sessions, preventing thermal throttling and maintaining peak performance throughout your flight day.
- Integrated Servo Failsafe — If you lose radio signal whilst maintaining power to the servo, the failsafe automatically holds the last known position, providing a safety margin that can prevent loss of control during signal dropouts.
- Soft Start Protection — This intelligent feature prevents damage to internal components and your airframe during unintended initialisation or power-on events, protecting your investment and preventing costly repairs from power surge damage.
- Over Current and Temperature Protection — Built-in protection circuits monitor both electrical load and internal temperature, automatically reducing power if either exceeds safe limits, preventing catastrophic failure and extending servo lifespan.
- Initialization Start Tone — An audible indication tone lets you know the servo is ready for operation, eliminating guesswork about whether initialization is complete and helping you maintain safe pre-flight checks.
- Extended Lead Length — The long 18-inch (457mm) servo lead provides flexibility in placement and routing, allowing you to position the servo away from battery packs and other heat sources whilst maintaining easy connection to your receiver.
- Universal Connector Type — Standard servo connector compatibility ensures straightforward installation with virtually any RC receiver, eliminating the need for adapters or modifications.
- Wide Frequency Range — Operating across 50-400Hz frequency response allows compatibility with both traditional and modern RC systems, ensuring this servo will work with your existing equipment.
Technical Performance
The Spektrum A6330 represents the pinnacle of servo engineering for serious RC aircraft enthusiasts. The brushless motor technology is fundamentally different from traditional brushed designs, eliminating carbon brush wear and commutator erosion that limits the lifespan of conventional servos. This means the A6330 will maintain consistent performance over many seasons of flying, making it a genuine long-term investment rather than a consumable component. The high-voltage capability is particularly impressive — whilst the servo operates safely at standard 6.0V, stepping up to 7.4V unlocks 178 oz-in of torque and 0.11 second speed, and maxing out at 8.4V delivers the full 248 oz-in and 0.10 second performance that makes this servo feel instantaneously responsive to stick inputs. The all-metal gear construction uses precision-machined gears that are tightly meshed for minimal backlash, crucial for maintaining accurate trim in flight. The dual ball bearing design supports the output shaft at both ends, eliminating the wobble and side-to-side play that can introduce unwanted servo chatter into control surfaces. Weighing just 2.25 ounces (71 grams) for its standard servo size, the A6330 adds minimal weight to your airframe whilst delivering power that belies its compact dimensions. The 120-degree rotation range provides full control authority for conventional aircraft control surfaces, and the 23-tooth spline ensures solid mechanical coupling to servo horns without stripping. Built from quality materials including the aluminium case for thermal management and reinforced plastic components where appropriate, this servo is engineered to withstand the vibration and shock loads inherent in RC aircraft operation. The 22 AWG wire gauge in the servo lead is heavy enough to handle peak current demands without voltage drop, ensuring full power delivery reaches the internal electronics under load.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Spektrum A6330 suitable for aerobatic RC aircraft flying? — Yes, absolutely. The combination of 248 oz-in torque and 0.10 second speed at 8.4V makes this servo ideal for aerobatic applications where rapid control inputs and strong holding power are essential for safe, precise flying. The brushless motor and all-metal gears are specifically engineered for the demanding loads experienced during aerobatic manoeuvres.
- What is the difference between this servo and the A6320? — The A6330 is positioned as a high-torque, high-speed variant, delivering more torque and faster response than the A6320 mid-torque model. If you need maximum performance and are willing to accept slightly higher current draw, the A6330 is the superior choice.
- What battery voltage should I use with the A6330? — The servo accepts input voltages between 6.0V and 8.4V. You can safely use 2S LiPo batteries (7.4V nominal, up to 8.4V when fully charged) for maximum performance, or 1S LiPo batteries (3.7V nominal, up to 4.2V when fully charged) if you need reduced performance and lower current draw. Six AA battery packs at 1.5V each (9V nominal) exceed the maximum voltage rating and should not be used.
- How much current does the A6330 draw? — At maximum torque output with 8.4V input, the servo will draw significant current as it loads against resistance. Whilst exact current specifications are not provided by Spektrum, the brushless motor combined with all-metal gears makes this a relatively efficient design. Ensure your receiver battery supply and wiring can handle the peak loads.
- Can I use the A6330 in waterproof applications? — No. The A6330 is not water-resistant and should not be exposed to water, moisture, or salt spray. Use this servo only in dry indoor flying conditions or protected outdoor installations.
- What makes brushless servo technology better than brushed? — Brushless motors eliminate carbon brushes and mechanical commutation, which in traditional servos are constant sources of wear, generating debris and eventually causing performance degradation. Brushless designs are far more durable, maintain consistent performance over their lifespan, and require no maintenance, making them the superior choice for high-performance RC aircraft applications.
- Is the A6330 programmable? — No, the A6330 is not programmable. It is a fixed-function servo with no adjustable parameters, making it straightforward to install and use without requiring complex setup procedures.
- What is the servo failsafe, and how does it work? — If your RC transmitter loses signal whilst the servo is powered, the integrated failsafe automatically holds the servo at its last known position, maintaining whatever control input was being commanded at the moment signal was lost. This provides a safety margin if you momentarily lose radio contact, preventing the servo from dropping to a default position that might compromise flight control.
- How long is the servo lead? — The A6330 includes an extended 18-inch (457mm) servo lead, providing significant flexibility in routing the servo cable through your airframe and positioning the servo away from heat sources like battery packs and motor controllers.
- What is the response frequency range of the A6330? — The servo operates across a 50-400Hz frequency response range, making it compatible with both traditional RC systems and modern digital receivers, ensuring compatibility with virtually any equipment in use today.
