Overview

The Team Associated Silicone Shock Oil 32.5Wt (388Cst) AS5432 is an essential suspension tuning fluid for serious RC car enthusiasts across the UK. Whether you're running a competitive RC buggy, short course truck, or monster truck, this precision shock oil delivers the consistency and performance you need to dial in your suspension perfectly. Made in the USA exclusively for Team Associated by the renowned Lucas Oil Products, this half-weight silicone fluid eliminates the frustration of mixing multiple viscosity grades to achieve intermediate damping characteristics.

For RC hobbyists in the UK seeking to optimise their vehicle's handling characteristics, shock fluid selection is critical. The 32.5Wt rating (388 centistokes) sits perfectly between standard weight grades, giving you unprecedented tuning precision without the mess and guesswork of combining fluids on the workbench. This product is compatible with dozens of Team Associated models, from the legendary RC10 series to modern Apex touring cars, making it an indispensable addition to any serious RC racer's maintenance kit.

What sets this shock oil apart is its engineered consistency and reliability. You're investing in professional-grade suspension tuning that Team Associated engineers trust for their factory team vehicles and competition platforms. The spill-proof seal insert and twist-to-open cap make handling safe and convenient, whether you're at the track, in your garage, or travelling with your RC car to competitions across the UK.

Key Features

  • 32.5Wt viscosity rating (388 cSt) — This half-weight specification bridges the gap between heavier and lighter oils, allowing you to achieve precise suspension tuning without mixing fluids together. This is particularly valuable for fine-tuning your RC car's handling characteristics in response to changing track conditions or chassis modifications.
  • No mixing required — Gone are the days of attempting to blend shock oils to achieve intermediate viscosities. This ready-to-use formulation delivers consistent damping characteristics straight from the bottle, saving you time and ensuring repeatability in your suspension setup.
  • Made in the USA by Lucas Oil Products — Manufactured exclusively for Team Associated by Lucas Oil Products Inc., a company recognised worldwide for precision lubricants. This guarantees quality control, consistency, and reliability that meets Team Associated's exacting standards.
  • Half-weight range for expanded tuning options — By offering an intermediate viscosity grade, this fluid significantly expands your tuning possibilities. You can now make smaller, more precise adjustments to damping characteristics without jumping to the next full-weight grade.
  • Spill-proof seal insert — The innovative seal insert design prevents accidental spillage during storage and transport, protecting both your workshop and your RC equipment from damaging oil stains.
  • Twist-to-open cap design — The practical bottle design features an easy-to-use twist cap that makes dispensing shock fluid straightforward and mess-free, even during trackside adjustments.
  • 2 fl. oz. (59ml) bottle size — This generous capacity provides sufficient fluid for multiple shock rebuilds and setup adjustments, offering excellent value for money compared to purchasing multiple smaller containers.
  • Universal Team Associated compatibility — This shock oil works across an extensive range of Team Associated models, including the RC10 series, RC8 series, SC10 short course trucks, touring cars, monster trucks, trail crawlers, and many more platform variants.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated Silicone Shock Oil 32.5Wt represents a sophisticated approach to suspension engineering for RC vehicles. Silicone-based shock fluids offer superior temperature stability compared to conventional mineral oils, maintaining consistent damping characteristics across a wider range of ambient temperatures—a critical consideration when racing outdoors in the UK's variable weather conditions. The 388 centistoke viscosity rating (abbreviated as cSt, the standard measurement for fluid viscosity) has been carefully engineered to provide progressive damping without the harshness of heavier grades or the insufficient resistance of lighter oils. This viscosity rating places the fluid perfectly in the middle of Team Associated's shock fluid range, making it ideal for medium-aggression track conditions and balanced setup requirements. The silicone formulation ensures excellent compatibility with modern elastomer seals found in contemporary RC shock absorbers, preventing degradation or swelling that can occur with incompatible oils. Whether you're tuning a competition 1/10 scale buggy, setting up a short course truck for high-speed bashing, or fine-tuning a touring car for circuit racing, this fluid provides the engineering foundation for predictable, controllable suspension behaviour. The precision manufacturing process employed by Lucas Oil Products ensures batch-to-batch consistency, meaning every bottle you purchase will deliver identical performance characteristics, allowing you to build reproducible suspension setups that translate reliably between training sessions, club races, and major competitions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between 32.5Wt and standard full-weight shock oils? — The 32.5Wt rating represents a half-weight viscosity, positioned between lighter and heavier grades. This allows you to fine-tune your suspension without jumping to the next full weight grade. For example, if standard 30Wt is too light and 35Wt is too heavy for your particular setup, the 32.5Wt provides the perfect intermediate option for precise tuning without mixing fluids.
  • Is this shock oil suitable for beginners learning about RC suspension tuning? — Yes, absolutely. In fact, this product is ideal for beginners because it eliminates the confusion and potential for error when mixing oils. You simply use this pre-blended viscosity instead of attempting to combine different weights. This makes it easier to understand how viscosity changes affect your RC car's handling as you learn suspension fundamentals.
  • What RC models is this compatible with? — This shock oil is compatible with over 100 Team Associated models, including the RC10 series (RC10, RC10T, RC10B4, RC10B5, RC10B6, RC10B7 variants), RC8 series (RC8T, RC8B models), SC10 short course trucks, TC7 touring cars, DR10 drift cars, Enduro crawlers, Apex models, Reflex buggies, and numerous others. Check the comprehensive compatibility list on the manufacturer's specifications to confirm your specific model.
  • Can I mix this 32.5Wt oil with other Team Associated shock oils? — While not recommended as standard practice (the whole advantage of this product is eliminating mixing), you technically could combine it with other viscosity grades if you wanted intermediate values. However, this defeats the purpose of using a pre-blended half-weight product. It's best to use this 32.5Wt as your standalone suspension fluid.
  • How much shock oil does my RC car need? — This depends entirely on your vehicle's shock design and piston configuration. A typical 1/10 scale buggy or truck shock requires approximately 15-30ml per shock, meaning this 59ml (2 fl. oz.) bottle provides enough fluid for multiple complete shock rebuilds or adjustments. Consult your specific vehicle's manual for exact capacity requirements.
  • Is silicone shock oil better than mineral-based alternatives? — Silicone-based shock fluids, like this Team Associated product, offer superior temperature stability and consistency across wider temperature ranges. They maintain viscosity more effectively in both hot and cold conditions compared to mineral oils, making them preferred by competitive racers and for UK racing where ambient temperatures can vary significantly throughout the day.
  • How do I measure and apply shock oil when rebuilding shocks? — You'll need a small syringe or shock oil dispenser (available separately) to measure the exact quantity required for your shocks. The spill-proof seal on this bottle allows safe storage and easy pouring without mess. Always follow your RC vehicle's manual for specific capacity requirements and fill procedures.
  • Will this shock oil work in off-brand shock absorbers from other manufacturers? — This is a general-purpose silicone shock fluid that should work in most modern RC shock absorbers designed for silicone fluids. However, it's specifically engineered and tested with Team Associated vehicles. If you're using it in shocks from other manufacturers, verify that those shocks are compatible with silicone-based fluids before use.
