Key Features
- Gatekeeper Suspension Package (GKSTM) — This advanced suspension system features rear trailing arms that move the shock mounting points forward, which improves weight bias and creates a larger window for shock tuning to suit different terrain and driving styles. The trailing arms work in conjunction with a rear anti-roll bar that keeps the rear suspension stable whilst driving over rough terrain and improves climbability on steep inclines or side hills, providing the control and precision that serious crawlers demand.
- Aluminium Track Bar Mount — Bolted directly to the stamped steel frame rail, this rigid mount eliminates flex in the front suspension and delivers more precise steering feel with responsive control feedback, which is critical when navigating technical rock terrain where every steering input matters.
- Shock Mount Inserts with Multiple Positions — The adjustable shock mount inserts provide drivers with the flexibility to tune shock angle, droop and vehicle ride height without affecting spring preload, enabling fine-tuning of suspension performance across varying terrain and obstacles.
- Behind-the-Axle (BTA) Steering Link — This innovative steering design greatly improves approach angle and front-end clearance, making it significantly easier to handle rough terrain and navigate over obstacles that would hang up conventional steering arrangements.
- Stealth X Transmission System — The transmission features the ability to adjust the rear drive ratio independently of the front drive across three selectable levels: stock configuration overdrives the front end 5.7% (factory-installed in the RTR), option 1 (available separately) provides a one-to-one drive ratio front-to-rear for balanced power delivery, and option 2 (included with the RTR) overdrives the front end 11.83% for enhanced front-end power and control. This innovative system allows you to optimise drivetrain performance without changing gears.
- Reedy Power 5-Slot 14-Turn Brushed Motor — This proven 550 crawler motor provides ample torque with smooth power delivery, allowing for slow, precise acceleration whilst maintaining consistent power over rough terrain and obstacles — exactly what rock crawling demands.
- Reedy Power SC480X Water-Resistant Brushed ESC — Specifically programmed for crawler operation, this electronic speed controller features proportional forward and reverse capability, dual auxiliary power output leads for accessory control, LiPo low-voltage cutoff protections to prevent battery damage, and T-plug connector compatibility. The water-resistant design adds durability for outdoor trail use.
- Telescopic Driveshaft System — The 3-piece telescopic driveshafts feature an extruded aluminium center section paired with universal front drive axles and hardened steel ring and pinion gears, delivering reliable power transmission without mechanical flex and ensuring consistent drivetrain performance across obstacles.
- Stamped Steel C-Channel Chassis — The proven frame design provides a strong, rigid foundation whilst remaining lightweight, with direct mounting points for all suspension and drivetrain components to minimise deflection during aggressive terrain.
- Threaded Aluminium Shock Bodies — Precision-engineered shock bodies with threaded construction allow easy spring preload adjustment and precise tuning without requiring complete shock disassembly.
- Aluminium Steering Plates and Motor Plate — These lightweight yet rigid components reduce unsprung weight whilst maintaining the precision needed for responsive steering and reliable motor mounting.
- General Grabber A/TX Licensed Tyres on Method 701 Wheels — Mounted on officially licensed 1.9-inch Method 701 Trail Series beadlock wheels, the high-performance soft compound General Grabber A/TX tyres (measuring 1.9" x 4.19" x 1.4") provide exceptional grip on loose terrain and rock crawling surfaces. The beadlock design ensures the tyres stay securely mounted even during challenging articulation scenarios.
- Injection-Moulded Scale Body — The thermoformed polycarbonate body styled after early vintage pickup trucks features a narrow design for increased performance and ground clearance, with injection-moulded mirrors, door handles, grille, roll bar and KC HiLites light bar. The dropped bed design and adjustable injection-moulded front bumper add authentic scale appearance, whilst the detailed decal sheet allows customisation.
- Integrated Servo Winch Mount — The chassis features a purpose-designed mounting point for servo-controlled winch accessories, enabling realistic scale recovery and self-extraction scenarios.
- 12mm Steel Wheel Hexes — Heavy-duty steel hex adapters provide secure wheel attachment with excellent impact resistance during rough terrain negotiation.
- Universal Front Drive Axles with Optimised Ball Cups — The splined front axles feature adjustable caster settings and optimised ball cups that promote more fluid axle articulation, reducing bind and allowing the suspension greater freedom of movement.
- Hardened Steel One-Piece Rear Axle — The robust rear axle design withstands the stresses of rock crawling whilst the splined front axle arrangement provides reliable power transfer with reduced maintenance requirements.
- Heavy-Duty Steel Links and Metal Ball Bearings — All suspension linkage is constructed from heavy-duty steel, with metal ball bearings throughout for durability and smooth articulation.
- Machined Input Pinion Gear and Metal Ring Gear — Precision-machined drivetrain components ensure smooth, reliable power transfer with minimal backlash and maximum efficiency.
- 25T Steel Servo Horn and Adjustable Front Track Bar — The servo-controlled steering utilises a steel servo horn and adjustable track bar to provide responsive, progressive steering characteristics perfectly calibrated for rock crawling applications.
Technical Performance
The Element RC Enduro Zuul Trail Truck RTR is engineered as a serious 1/10 scale rock crawler designed to deliver exceptional off-road performance. The brushed motor system, paired with the water-resistant Reedy Power SC480X electronic speed controller, provides smooth, controllable power delivery essential for technical rock crawling. The 4WD drivetrain with the innovative Stealth X transmission allows independent adjustment of front and rear drive ratios, a feature seldom found in ready to run RC rock crawlers, giving you unprecedented tuning flexibility. The stamped steel chassis frame provides a rigid foundation measuring 462mm in length, 236mm in width, with a 325mm wheelbase — proportions optimised for balance and approach angle performance. The Gatekeeper Suspension package elevates the Zuul above standard RC crawlers with its trailing arm rear suspension geometry, shock mount adjustability across multiple positions, and integrated rear anti-roll bar, enabling precise suspension tuning regardless of terrain conditions. The suspension can accommodate 2-3S LiPo batteries or 7.2V NiMH batteries, providing flexibility in power selection based on your performance preferences and local terrain demands. Build quality throughout is exceptional, with aluminium components where weight reduction matters, steel reinforcement where durability is critical, and precision-machined drivetrain components ensuring reliable power transmission. The water-resistant ESC provides practical durability for trail use, though not full waterproof protection, making it suitable for outdoor conditions without immersion.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Element RC Enduro Zuul Trail Truck suitable for beginners? — The Element RC Enduro Zuul is rated as Skill Level 2, indicating it is designed for intermediate to experienced RC enthusiasts rather than complete beginners. Whilst the RTR assembly eliminates initial building requirements, rock crawling technique and suspension tuning knowledge are beneficial to maximise performance. If you're new to RC, we recommend starting with a Skill Level 1 model before progressing to this advanced crawler.
- What battery does the Enduro Zuul need? — The RTR accepts either 2-3S LiPo batteries or 7.2V NiMH batteries. The system is not compatible with larger battery configurations. For optimal performance, you'll want to pair it with a suitable LiPo charger and a LiPo charge bag for safe storage. Our Power Bundles include compatible battery systems, chargers and safety equipment if you need everything in one package.
- Can I adjust the drivetrain ratio independently? — Yes, one of the standout features of the Enduro Zuul is the Stealth X transmission, which allows you to adjust the rear drive ratio independently of the front drive across three levels. The stock configuration (factory-installed) overdrives the front 5.7%, option 2 (included with your RTR) provides 11.83% front overdrive for more aggressive front-end power, and option 1 (available separately) delivers a one-to-one drive ratio. This flexibility is exceptional for a ready to run RC truck and allows you to optimise performance for different terrain types.
- What makes the Gatekeeper Suspension special? — The Gatekeeper Suspension package features rear trailing arms that move shock mounting points forward, improving weight bias and providing a larger tuning window for shock adjustments. Combined with the rear anti-roll bar for stability on side hills and technical terrain, the adjustable shock mount inserts enable tuning of shock angle, droop and ride height without affecting spring preload. This comprehensive approach to suspension design is what separates serious rock crawlers from basic off-road trucks.
- How does the behind-the-axle steering improve performance? — The BTA steering link design improves approach angle and front-end clearance by moving the steering geometry to a more optimal position, making it significantly easier to navigate rough terrain and climb over obstacles without the front bumper or chassis hanging up on rocks and terrain features.
- What scale is this RC truck? — The Enduro Zuul is a 1/10 scale model, meaning it is one-tenth the size of a real truck. This scale is the most popular for RC crawlers and rock buggies, offering a good balance between size, performance and manoeuvrability.
- Are the tyres and wheels licensed? — Yes, the General Grabber A/TX tyres are officially licensed replicas of real-world General Tire products, and the Method 701 Trail Series wheels are officially licensed. This means they feature authentic branding and realistic appearance. The tyres use soft compound rubber suitable for rock and trail surfaces, mounted on beadlock wheels that prevent tyre roll-off during extreme articulation.
- Is this RTR waterproof? — The Reedy Power SC480X electronic speed controller is rated as water-resistant, not fully waterproof. This provides practical durability for outdoor trail use but you should avoid full immersion. The body is thermoformed polycarbonate which handles light moisture, but waterproofing the entire vehicle would require additional modifications.
- What radio system does it use? — The specific RC transmitter and receiver system details are not pre-specified in the RTR package. You will need to provide a compatible RC radio system. We recommend consulting with our team at RC Model Shop to identify suitable radio options that match your needs and preferences.
- How does the Stealth X transmission work? — The Stealth X transmission features a unique design that lets you adjust the rear drive ratio independently of the front drive. In stock configuration (pre-installed), it overdrives the front 5.7%. Option 2 (included) increases this to 11.83% front overdrive for more aggressive climbing and obstacle performance. Option 1 (sold separately) gives you a true one-to-one ratio for balanced front-to-rear power delivery. This allows you to dial in the perfect balance for your terrain without changing physical gears.
- Can I use this for rock crawling competitions? — Yes, the Enduro Zuul is designed specifically for rock crawling applications and features competition-level engineering with advanced suspension geometry, independent drivetrain tuning, and precise steering control. However, you should verify that this model meets your specific competition's class rules before entering events.
