RC enthusiasts across the UK trust Spektrum receivers for their durability, compatibility and ease of binding to matching transmitters.
Key Features
- SLT Protocol Technology — This receiver operates on Spektrum's SLT modulation system, which provides secure, spread-spectrum communication between your transmitter and receiver, ensuring robust signal transmission without dropouts or interference from other RC systems operating nearby.
- DSC Functionality — The Digital Service Control feature enables advanced telemetry and system diagnostics, allowing you to monitor receiver performance and troubleshoot potential issues directly from compatible transmitters, giving you insight into your RC system's health.
- 2.4GHz Frequency Band — Operating on the internationally recognised 2.4GHz band means your receiver works anywhere in the UK and worldwide without frequency licensing concerns, and avoids the congestion of older 75MHz systems that plague many RC racing venues.
- 3-Channel Configuration — With three independent channels, you can control throttle, steering, and one auxiliary function, making this receiver suitable for RC cars, trucks, buggies and other surface vehicles requiring basic to intermediate control complexity.
- Compact Form Factor — The small size of the SLR370 makes it ideal for installation in tight engine bays and cockpit areas of modern RC chassis designs, without requiring custom mounting brackets or taking up valuable interior space.
- Spektrum Brand Heritage — As a Spektrum product, this receiver benefits from decades of RF engineering expertise and is fully compatible with the entire Spektrum transmitter range, ensuring seamless integration into your existing equipment or new builds.
Technical Performance
The SPM SLR370 represents a mature receiver platform that has been refined through years of real-world RC racing and bashing applications. The SLT protocol technology delivers the reliability that competitive drivers and weekend enthusiasts alike expect from a professional-grade receiver, with response times measured in milliseconds and signal update rates that keep pace with modern brushless motor systems and high-speed servo operations. The 2.4GHz frequency allocation provides superior spectral efficiency compared to legacy systems, allowing many RC drivers to operate simultaneously at crowded UK racing venues without frequency conflicts. The DSC (Digital Service Control) system integrated into this receiver enables sophisticated diagnostic capabilities that were previously unavailable on mid-range products, permitting drivers to verify proper receiver operation, check battery voltages, and diagnose binding issues through their transmitter without requiring separate test equipment. Construction quality is typical of Spektrum's manufacturing standards, with robust circuit board design, quality solder work, and protective potting of critical components to withstand vibration and environmental exposure. The receiver's power requirements are modest, compatible with standard 4.8V to 6.0V receiver packs commonly used in RC cars throughout the UK hobby, and the three-channel output configuration is sufficient for throttle control via electronic speed controllers, proportional steering servo systems, and auxiliary channel applications such as light activation or mode switching. The binding procedure follows Spektrum's established safety protocols, ensuring only authorised transmitters can control your RC vehicle, protecting against accidental interference on crowded track days.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What transmitters are compatible with the SPM SLR370 receiver? — The SLR370 is designed to work with any Spektrum transmitter featuring SLT protocol support. This includes current Spektrum transmitter models marketed for RC surface vehicles. You should verify your specific transmitter model supports SLT before purchasing, as some older Spektrum systems use alternative protocols like DSMX or DSMR.
- Can I use the SLR370 in a crowded RC racing venue in the UK? — Yes, absolutely. The 2.4GHz frequency band used by the SLR370 supports many simultaneous users without frequency conflicts, making it ideal for organised RC racing clubs, public track days, and events where dozens of drivers may be operating vehicles simultaneously. This is a significant advantage over legacy 75MHz systems.
- What does the DSC functionality provide? — Digital Service Control (DSC) on the SLR370 enables telemetry feedback to compatible transmitters, allowing you to diagnose receiver performance, verify proper binding, monitor battery voltage levels, and troubleshoot connection issues without specialised test equipment.
- What power supply does the SLR370 need? — The receiver operates from a standard 4.8V to 6.0V receiver pack, which you will need to source separately. These are commonly available receiver batteries, either in NiMH or LiPo chemistry, with standard connector types compatible with the receiver's input port.
- Is the SLR370 suitable for high-speed racing or recreational bashing? — Yes, the SLR370 is suitable for both applications. The response time and update rate of the SLT protocol is sufficient for competitive racing applications and casual weekend bashing alike. The three-channel configuration handles standard racing and bashing vehicle requirements without limitation.
- How do I bind the SLR370 to my Spektrum transmitter? — Binding follows Spektrum's standard procedure: power on your transmitter in bind mode, then power on the receiver whilst holding the bind button. The receiver's indicator light will change colour to confirm successful binding. Detailed instructions are provided with the receiver.
