Key Features
- Significantly Improved RPM and Torque — The G3 generation has been engineered with a 16% increase in KV rating and a 4% improvement in torque output compared to the V10 G2 Stock spec motor, delivering noticeably better acceleration and top-end performance for competitive racing applications.
- Exceptional Linearity and Control — The built-in high-precision Hall sensor combined with a meticulously balanced rotor guarantees remarkable linearity in throttle response, giving drivers precise control and predictable performance throughout the entire RPM range, which is crucial in competitive racing scenarios.
- Super Lightweight Design — At just 164 grams, the V10 G3 6.5T weighs approximately 21% less than the previous generation V10 G2 motor, allowing you to easily adjust vehicle balance and improve handling characteristics by repositioning weight or optimising your chassis setup.
- Asymmetric Bearing Configuration — The front bearing has been enlarged by 26% to improve load-carrying capacity and durability, whilst the rear bearing has been reduced by 6% to minimise rotational resistance, resulting in a motor that runs more stably and smoothly under racing conditions.
- Superior Heat Dissipation — The specially designed motor shell exposes the stator core to air, and the large machined holes in the front and rear end plates guarantee outstanding heat dissipation, allowing the motor to maintain peak performance throughout extended racing sessions without thermal throttling.
- Stepless Adjustable Mechanical Timing — Mechanical timing is fully adjustable from 20 to 50 degrees, allowing you to fine-tune motor characteristics to suit your driving style and track conditions, with anti-slip lines on the rear end plate ensuring timing stability once set.
- Rebuild-Friendly Structure — The motor features a detachable design that makes regular cleaning and maintenance straightforward, effectively prolonging the service life of the motor and maintaining its efficiency even after extended use and multiple race seasons.
- Premium Component Quality — Every component is engineered for performance: high-performance stator laminations, heat-resistant pure copper wire rated to 200°C, heat-resistant rotor construction, international top-brand high-precision bearings, and heavy-duty copper solder tabs with exceptional current endurance.
- BRCA and EFRA Approved — This motor is fully compliant with BRCA and EFRA racing regulations, making it a legal choice for serious competitors in the UK and across Europe who want to race with confidence at sanctioned events.
- Sensored Brushless Design — The integrated Hall sensor enables smooth start-up, consistent performance, and superior throttle response compared to sensorless alternatives, making this motor ideal for competitive racing where reliability and consistency are paramount.
Technical Performance
The Hobbywing XERUN V10 6.5T Black G3 is engineered to deliver 402 watts of maximum power output at 113 amps, with a KV rating of 5,120 on a 2S LiPo battery system. The motor features a professional-grade brushless design with sensored Hall effect technology, a 2-pole configuration, and dimensions of 35.9mm outer diameter by 51.2mm length, making it compatible with standard 540-size motor mounts found on most 1/10 scale 4WD off-road racing vehicles. The 3.17mm diameter shaft is 13.3mm in length, providing secure mounting and reliable power transmission. With a no-load current draw of just 3.9 amps, the motor is efficient and responsive even at low speeds, whilst the adjustable mechanical timing (20-50 degrees for Modified class) allows you to optimise performance for different track surfaces and driving styles. The asymmetric bearing design and extensive cooling provisions ensure the motor maintains consistent performance throughout intense racing sessions. Built to the highest manufacturing standards, every component — from the stator laminations to the rotor assembly to the copper solder tabs — is selected for durability, efficiency, and reliability under the demanding conditions of competitive 1/10 scale RC racing in the UK and internationally.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Hobbywing XERUN V10 6.5T suitable for serious competitive RC racing? — Yes, absolutely. This is a premium Modified class motor specifically engineered for competitive 1/10 scale 4WD off-road racing. It is BRCA and EFRA approved, making it legal for sanctioned racing events across the UK and Europe. The precision engineering, Hall effect sensing, and adjustable timing make it an excellent choice for drivers competing at a high level.
- What is the difference between the 6.5T and other XERUN V10 G3 variants? — The 6.5T designation refers to the number of windings on the rotor; a 6.5T motor has fewer windings than higher T-count motors, resulting in a higher KV rating (5,120 KV) and faster speed capability. This 6.5T is configured for Modified class racing and delivers maximum torque and RPM, making it faster than Stock class motors (which have higher T-counts and lower KV ratings) but requiring more sophisticated driving skills to control effectively.
- What battery does the XERUN V10 6.5T need? — The motor is rated for 2S LiPo battery systems (7.4 volts nominal). With a KV rating of 5,120, a 2S LiPo will deliver approximately 37,888 RPM at no load (theoretical maximum), making it an excellent choice for competitive racing vehicles. Always ensure your ESC is rated for the power output and current draw of your battery configuration.
- Can I adjust the timing on this motor? — Yes, the V10 G3 features stepless adjustable mechanical timing, adjustable from 20 to 50 degrees for Modified class motors. This allows you to fine-tune the motor's characteristics to suit different track conditions, driving styles, and chassis setups. Anti-slip lines on the rear end plate ensure the timing remains stable once set. Timing adjustment should only be performed by experienced users who understand motor setup.
- How much does the XERUN V10 G3 6.5T weigh? — The motor weighs just 164 grams (5.78 ounces), approximately 21% lighter than the previous generation V10 G2 motor. This significant weight reduction makes it easy to adjust vehicle balance and fine-tune handling by repositioning weight within your chassis.
- What makes the asymmetric bearing design important? — The enlarged front bearing (26% larger than the previous generation) improves load-carrying capacity and durability under racing stress, whilst the reduced rear bearing (6% smaller) minimises rotational resistance and friction. This asymmetric design ensures the motor runs more stably, smoothly, and efficiently whilst maintaining power delivery under competitive racing conditions.
- Is this motor sensored or sensorless? — The V10 G3 6.5T is a sensored motor, featuring integrated Hall effect sensors. This means it has smooth start-up characteristics, consistent performance across the RPM range, and superior throttle response compared to sensorless alternatives. Sensored motors are generally preferred for racing applications where consistency and reliability are critical.
- How does heat dissipation affect motor performance? — Excellent heat dissipation is crucial for maintaining consistent performance during extended racing sessions. The V10 G3 6.5T features specially designed end plates with large machined holes and a shell design that exposes the stator core to air circulation. This engineering ensures the motor stays cool under load, preventing thermal throttling and maintaining peak power output lap after lap.
