Overview

The Hobbywing XeRun XR10 Stock Spec G2 is a professional-grade brushless electronic speed control (ESC) specifically engineered for competitive 1/10 scale RC car racing in the UK and beyond. Whether you're piloting a touring car, buggy, or drifting machine, this ESC delivers the precision, reliability, and performance demanded by serious hobbyists and racers. The Stock Spec G2 represents a significant advancement over its predecessor, featuring an increased maximum current rating of 100 amps—20 amps more than the previous generation—whilst maintaining a dramatically cooler operating temperature profile that's been proven to run as much as 30°C cooler under identical loads. This makes it an ideal choice for competitive brushless RC enthusiasts who demand dependable electronics that won't throttle performance when the racing gets intense.

Designed with both on-road and off-road applications in mind, this compact ESC is suitable for Stock Class 1/10th touring cars, buggies, and 1/10th drift vehicles. Its intelligent engineering prioritises stability, reliability, and ease of integration into your existing RC setup. The XR10 Stock Spec G2 comes pre-loaded with Blinky Stock firmware, making it immediately suitable for Blinky Stock competition, whilst the ability to flash alternative firmware means you can adapt it for non-Blinky competition or dedicated drift applications. For UK-based RC car enthusiasts seeking a brushless ESC that combines proven performance credentials with genuine ease of use, this is a serious contender.

What truly sets this brushless speed control apart is its thoughtful combination of competitive-level features and user-friendly implementation. The centre of gravity has been lowered by 14.3% compared to previous designs, helping you achieve superior chassis balance and handling characteristics. Combined with optimised wiring solutions designed for both on-road and off-road vehicles, the XR10 Stock Spec G2 makes installation straightforward, whether you're building your first competitive RC car or fine-tuning an established platform. This is genuine racing electronics made accessible.

Key Features

  • 100 Amp Continuous Current Rating with 500 Amp Peak Capacity — The dramatically increased current rating of 100 amps continuous (with 500 amp peak bursts) provides abundant power headroom for competitive driving whilst delivering as much as 30°C lower temperatures under the same loads compared to the previous generation, ensuring your ESC remains cool and responsive throughout extended racing sessions.
  • Built-in Reverse Voltage Protection — Hobbywing's proven polarity protection system guards against accidental backwards battery connection, protecting your ESC from one of the most common installation errors that would otherwise damage electronics irreparably.
  • Enhanced BEC System with 5 Amp Continuous Output — The onboard battery eliminator circuit (BEC) has been upgraded to deliver 5 amps continuous (with 10 amp maximum burst capacity), providing substantially more power to run modern high-voltage servo systems with genuine control authority and response.
  • Adjustable BEC Voltage Output (6V/7.4V) — The ability to switch between 6V and 7.4V output voltage means you can optimise servo performance to your specific control requirements and servo specifications, whether you're using traditional servo voltages or newer high-voltage alternatives.
  • Optimised Input and Output Wiring — The ESC features carefully redesigned wiring arrangements with black 13AWG-200mm input wires (x2) and output wires (x3) that facilitate straightforward installation in both on-road and off-road vehicles, eliminating frustrating cable routing challenges.
  • Reduced Centre of Gravity Design — A 14.3% reduction in the ESC's centre of gravity enhances chassis balance characteristics, allowing you to fine-tune suspension geometry and setup with greater precision and improved stability during competitive driving.
  • Real-Time Data Acquisition via OTA Bluetooth Module — When connected to the optional OTA Programmer (sold separately), the HW Link mobile application enables live monitoring of throttle position, battery voltage, motor current, ESC temperature, motor RPM, and other critical performance metrics, with effective wireless range of approximately 5 metres in open field conditions.
  • Comprehensive Data Recording and Historical Analysis — The ESC automatically records extreme values and supports real-time data logging externally via OTA, allowing you to review performance data through graphs and historical records after each racing session using the HW Link application.
  • Multi-Level Throttle and Brake Curve Adjustment — With throttle and brake curvature adjustment across an extensive range (-10 to +10), you can programme everything from aggressive, responsive throttle mapping to smooth, progressive delivery, with separate independent adjustment of drag brake frequency to fine-tune deceleration characteristics precisely to track conditions and your driving style.
  • 79-Position RPM Limiter with 10,000-88,000 RPM Range — Comprehensive RPM limiting capability with 79 discrete settings accommodates the speed-control requirements of diverse international racing classes and competitions, programmable via LCD programming box or OTA module for straightforward compliance with various event rules.
  • Dual Firmware Capability — Ships with built-in Blinky Stock firmware pre-loaded for immediate Stock class competition use, with the flexibility to flash alternative Boost firmware for non-Blinky competition or specialised drift applications, expanding the ESC's versatility across multiple racing disciplines.
  • LCD Pro Programmer Support with Wireless OTA Alternative — Compatible with the LCD Pro Program Box (sold separately) for wired programming and setup adjustment, or alternatively with the OTA Programmer for wireless Bluetooth configuration and data review via smartphone application.
  • Compact Dimensions and Lightweight Construction — Measuring just 34.8 x 30 x 13.8mm and weighing only 63g with wires included, the ultra-compact profile ensures convenient installation whilst the light weight provides additional chassis weight margin for precise balance adjustment.

Technical Performance

The Hobbywing XeRun XR10 Stock Spec G2 represents serious engineering dedicated to competitive RC racing. The ESC is rated for 2S LiPo battery systems (7.4V nominal), accepting input voltage between 5V and 7.4V, making it perfectly matched to commonly available 2-cell lithium polymer batteries used throughout competitive 1/10 scale RC racing across the UK and internationally. The sensored brushless design accepts 3650-size motors with KV ratings of 10.5T or higher, providing the power envelope needed for competitive Stock class racing. With continuous current delivery of 100 amps and burst capacity reaching 500 amps, this ESC provides the electrical foundation for genuinely responsive performance even under extreme acceleration demands. The integrated switch-mode BEC delivers clean, regulated power with 5 amps continuous capacity and 10 amp peak delivery at selectable 6V or 7.4V output, accommodating contemporary high-torque servo systems that demand stable, plentiful power. The framed cooling fan measures 20x20x8mm, actively managing thermal load to maintain the dramatically improved temperature characteristics that testing has verified at 30°C cooler than previous generations under identical operating loads. The ESC features a separate programme port for connection to programming boxes, with firmware upgrade capability to adapt the unit across multiple racing disciplines. As a brushless speed control optimised for Stock class competition, the XR10 Stock Spec G2 delivers the precision, stability, and reliability expected in genuine racing electronics, engineered specifically to support competitive touring cars, buggies, and drift vehicles in the demanding world of 1/10 scale RC racing.
