The Axial LCXU Dig Internals V2:SCX10III is a precision-engineered internal component kit designed specifically for Axial SCX10 III rock crawlers and 4WD off-road vehicles. This high-quality spare parts set is essential for enthusiasts who want to maintain, repair or upgrade their Axial SCX10 III rock crawler, whether you own a Base Camp, Coyote, Chevy K10, Toyota SR5, or Jeep JT Gladiator variant. If you are a serious RC car UK hobbyist looking to keep your rock crawler performing at its best, this genuine Axial internal dig parts kit delivers the reliability and precision you need to enjoy countless hours of off-road crawling and bashing.
This is the V2 variant of the LCXU dig internals, representing the latest engineering evolution from Axial. Whether you are running stock components or have been pushing your SCX10 III hard across rocky terrain, rough tracks, and challenging obstacles, having access to quality replacement internals ensures your transmission stays responsive, accurate and durable. The kit is part of the Basecamp Builders Kit V2 series, indicating it meets Axial's high standards for construction quality and performance consistency across their 1/10 scale rock crawler range.
For UK RC enthusiasts, ready to run RC vehicles like the SCX10 III represent a fantastic entry point into serious off-road crawling. However, the heart of any crawler is its transmission system, and the LCXU transmission is central to the SCX10 III's legendary obstacle-climbing capability. This internal parts kit ensures you have genuine Axial components on hand to maintain that performance when you need it most.
Key Features
- Genuine Axial LCXU Internal Components — Every part in this kit is manufactured to Axial's exacting specifications, ensuring perfect compatibility and reliable performance with your SCX10 III transmission system. Using genuine parts rather than aftermarket alternatives guarantees the precision fit and durability that serious crawlers depend on.
- V2 Basecamp Builders Kit Engineering — The V2 designation indicates these are the latest generation internal parts, incorporating Axial's most recent design refinements and material science advances. This means you get the benefit of the most recent engineering improvements made to the SCX10 III platform.
- Complete Dig Lock System — The kit includes a dig lock plate, which is critical for maintaining the locking differential function that allows your rock crawler to distribute power effectively across both wheels when crawling over obstacles. A properly functioning dig lock system is essential for maintaining traction on uneven terrain.
- Front and Rear Output Shafts — Included are both a front output shaft and a transmission dig output shaft, giving you complete coverage for the primary drivetrain components that transmit power from your motor through the transmission to your wheels.
- Precision Gear Drive System — The 46-tooth output shaft gear with 48-pitch specification ensures smooth power delivery and precise gear meshing characteristics. This level of precision is what separates Axial's engineering from lesser RC car UK competitors.
- Servo Plate and Shift Fork Assembly — The included servo plate and shift fork shaft are critical for the transmission's electronic shifting function, allowing you to change between forward, neutral, and reverse smoothly and reliably during your crawling sessions.
- Wide SCX10 III Compatibility — This kit is confirmed compatible with a comprehensive range of Axial SCX10 III variants including the Pro-Line 1982 Chevy K10 RTR, Base Camp 4X4 RTR, Coyote 4X4 RTR, 1987 Toyota SR5 4X4 RTR, standard 4WD Builders Kit, Jeep JT Gladiator with Portals RTR, and all other SCX10 III platform vehicles. This broad compatibility means one kit covers multiple vehicles in your collection.
Technical Performance
The LCXU transmission is at the heart of every Axial SCX10 III rock crawler, and the internals in this kit represent the critical moving parts that make that transmission function. The dig lock plate mechanism is fundamental to how the SCX10 III achieves its legendary crawling capability, allowing the locking differential to engage and lock wheel speeds together when maximum traction is needed on obstacles. The precision-machined output shafts are manufactured from durable materials engineered to withstand the extreme loading forces that occur during technical rock crawling, where rocks, roots, and obstacles place tremendous stress on drivetrain components. The 46-tooth 48-pitch output shaft gear is specifically designed to mesh perfectly with the transmission's internal gearing, providing smooth power delivery without binding, slipping, or excessive wear. The servo plate and shift fork assembly form the electromechanical heart of the transmission's shifting system, enabling the precise electronic control that allows rapid, reliable transitions between forward, neutral and reverse — critical functionality when navigating complex rock gardens and tight obstacle courses. All components in this V2 kit are manufactured to the exacting tolerances Axial is known for, ensuring that when you install them, your transmission performs exactly as engineered by Axial's design team. The materials used are selected specifically for their durability under the extreme stresses of rock crawling, where impacts, twisting forces, and sustained high loading are common. This is not plastic or pot-metal — these are precision components engineered for performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which Axial SCX10 III models are compatible with the LCXU Dig Internals V2? — This kit is compatible with all modern Axial SCX10 III variants, including the Pro-Line 1982 Chevy K10 RTR, Base Camp 4X4 RTR (both White and Grey versions), Coyote 4X4 RTR (both Silver and Blue versions), 1987 Toyota SR5 4X4 RTR, the 4WD Rock Crawler Builders Kit, and the Jeep JT Gladiator with Portals RTR. If you own any SCX10 III model, this kit will work with your transmission.
- Why would I need to replace these internal dig components? — After extensive use, particularly intense rock crawling sessions, the internal components of your transmission can wear, become damaged from impacts, or suffer from normal mechanical wear. The dig lock plate, output shafts, and shift fork components are moving parts that experience significant stress. Having replacement internals on hand ensures you can quickly restore your crawler to full performance capability without waiting for mail delivery.
- Is this suitable for beginner RC enthusiasts? — This is a replacement spare parts kit intended for owners of existing Axial SCX10 III rock crawlers who are familiar with their vehicle. It is not a complete transmission and requires knowledge of how to disassemble and reassemble transmission components. If you are new to RC cars in the UK, we recommend starting with a ready to run RC vehicle first, then learning about maintenance and upgrades as you develop your skills.
- What is the difference between V2 and original LCXU Dig Internals? — The V2 designation indicates these are the newest generation components incorporating Axial's latest engineering refinements. The V2 versions represent improvements in durability, precision and reliability compared to earlier versions, making them the preferred choice for current SCX10 III builds and upgrades.
- Do I need professional help to install these parts? — Installation of transmission internals requires mechanical knowledge and the proper tools. If you are experienced with RC maintenance and have successfully worked on your SCX10 III transmission before, you can install these yourself. However, if you are uncertain, we recommend consulting Axial's technical documentation or seeking assistance from experienced RC technicians to ensure correct installation and optimal performance.
