Key Features
- 135-Amp Continuous Current Rating — This substantial power output means the Torox 135 can handle high-torque brushless motors without thermal stress, giving your RC car the punch and acceleration needed for competitive racing or aggressive bashing. The peak current rating of 850 amps provides explosive burst performance when you need maximum throttle.
- Waterproof Construction — The sealed electronics and waterproof design allow you to run your RC car in wet grass, muddy tracks, and light rain without fear of water damage, expanding where and when you can enjoy your hobby.
- Integrated 25mm Cooling Fan — The dedicated cooling fan actively dissipates heat during intense driving sessions, maintaining optimal ESC temperature and preventing thermal throttling that could limit your performance during crucial races or long practice runs.
- 2S to 4S Battery Compatibility — Whether you're running 2-cell, 3-cell or 4-cell LiPo batteries (or equivalent NiMH), the Torox 135 adapts to your power setup, with selectable BEC output voltage between 6.0V and 7.4V to suit different servo requirements.
- Sensored and Sensorless Motor Support — This ESC works seamlessly with both sensored brushless motors (which provide smooth low-speed control) and sensorless motors (which offer simplicity and cost savings), giving you complete freedom in motor selection.
- Programmable Protection Features — The thermal protection threshold (selectable between 105°C and 125°C) and programmable LiPo cutoff voltage prevent damage to your equipment and batteries by automatically managing power delivery based on real-world conditions.
- 4-Amp Programmable BEC — The onboard battery eliminator circuit provides stable regulated power to your servo, receiver and other accessories, with the ability to select your preferred output voltage to match your equipment specifications.
- Aluminium and Plastic Case Construction — The durable housing combines lightweight aluminium with protective plastic elements, creating a robust ESC that can withstand the vibration and impacts of RC car use whilst remaining compact and lightweight.
- XT90 Battery Connector — The industry-standard XT90 connector provides secure, reliable power delivery with minimal resistance, ensuring maximum voltage reaches your motor and reducing power losses during high-current acceleration.
- 12 AWG Heavy-Gauge Battery Wiring — The thick gauge wires minimise voltage drop between your battery and the ESC, ensuring efficient power transfer and preventing performance loss during maximum throttle demands.
- Compact Dimensions — At just 49mm long, 39.5mm wide and 34.7mm thick, the Torox 135 fits into tight spaces within your RC car's chassis, making installation straightforward even in densely packed engine bays.
Technical Performance
The Corally Torox 135 Speed Controller delivers impressive technical specifications that position it as a serious contender in the mid-range ESC market for 1/10 and 1/8 scale RC cars. The 135-amp continuous current rating with an 850-amp peak capability provides the headroom needed for high-performance brushless motors, whilst the programmable BEC output (selectable between 6.0V and 7.4V at 4-amp continuous capacity) ensures your receiver, servo and other accessories receive stable power regardless of battery voltage fluctuations. The ESC supports 2S to 4S lithium-polymer batteries (7.4V to 14.8V input range) as well as 6 to 12-cell NiMH battery packs, making it universally compatible with standard RC car power systems. The integrated 25mm cooling fan actively manages heat dissipation, essential for preventing thermal shutdown during competitive racing sessions or sustained high-speed running. Built from aluminium and plastic composite construction, the 110-gram ESC weighs minimal but feels robust in hand, whilst the waterproof design allows confident operation in damp British weather conditions. Motor compatibility extends to both sensored and sensorless brushless motors, with specific motor KV limits provided for different battery configurations: 6000 KV maximum on 2S, 4000 KV on 3S, and 3000 KV on 4S (all examples based on 3656-size motors). The thermal protection system can be programmed to trigger at either 105°C or 125°C depending on your application and motor characteristics, preventing damage from sustained high-load operation. This combination of performance, protection, and programmability makes the Torox 135 an excellent choice for upgrading entry-level RC cars to competitive performance levels or building reliable basher trucks that can handle rough terrain and aggressive driving.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Corally Torox 135 Speed Controller suitable for beginners? — Yes, the Torox 135 is user-friendly for newcomers to brushless RC cars. Whilst it's powerful enough for experienced drivers, the programmable protection features and straightforward sensored motor compatibility make it beginner-friendly. The waterproof design also reduces worry about accidental water damage during learning. However, ensure you understand basic battery safety and ESC programming before your first run.
- What batteries does the Torox 135 work with? — The Torox 135 accepts 2S, 3S and 4S lithium-polymer (LiPo) batteries, requiring input voltage between 7.4V and 14.8V. It also works with 6-cell, 9-cell and 12-cell nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) battery packs, giving you flexible power options. For 1/10 scale RC cars, most enthusiasts use 3S or 4S LiPo batteries with 5000-7000 mAh capacity.
- Can I use sensored and sensorless motors with this ESC? — Absolutely. The Torox 135 supports both sensored brushless motors (which offer smoother throttle response at low speeds) and sensorless brushless motors (which are simpler and often more cost-effective). Your choice depends on your driving style and budget.
- What motor sizes work with the Torox 135? — The ESC supports a wide range of brushless motors with specific KV limitations depending on your battery cell count. With 2S batteries, use motors up to 6000 KV; with 3S use up to 4000 KV; with 4S use up to 3000 KV (examples based on 3656-size motors). These guidelines ensure optimal performance and motor longevity.
- Is the Torox 135 waterproof? — Yes, the ESC features waterproof protection allowing it to handle wet grass, muddy tracks and light rain. This is ideal for UK RC enthusiasts who often face damp weather conditions. However, avoid submerging it or exposing it to high-pressure water jets.
- What does the integrated cooling fan do? — The 25mm cooling fan actively cools the ESC during intense driving, preventing thermal shutdown and maintaining consistent performance during extended running sessions or competitive racing. This is especially valuable during summer driving or when using high-discharge-rate batteries.
- How do I program the Torox 135? — Programming is performed through your RC transmitter using standard ESC programming procedures. You can adjust BEC voltage (6.0V or 7.4V), thermal protection threshold (105°C or 125°C), and LiPo cutoff settings. Detailed programming instructions are included in the comprehensive manual.
- What makes the Torox 135 different from other mid-range ESCs? — The Torox 135 combines a high 135-amp continuous rating, integrated cooling fan, waterproof design and versatile motor compatibility in a genuinely compact package. The programmable BEC and thermal protection add competition-level features typically found only in more expensive units, delivering excellent value for UK RC enthusiasts.
- Will this ESC fit in my RC car's engine bay? — Most likely yes. At 49mm long, 39.5mm wide and 34.7mm thick, the Torox 135 is notably compact and fits standard 1/10 and 1/8 scale RC car engine bays. However, check your specific chassis manual to confirm available space before purchasing.
- What connector types does it use? — The battery connector is XT90 (a secure, industry-standard connector), and the motor connectors are 4.0mm female terminals. Battery wiring uses heavy-gauge 12 AWG wire to minimise voltage drop during maximum throttle acceleration.
