The TEAM ASSOCIATED B84D TEAM KIT (AS90051) is a 1/10-scale, 4WD electric off-road competition buggy engineered for precision handling and race-winning consistency. Built for serious competitors and dedicated RC enthusiasts, this machine combines cutting-edge engineering with proven race-track performance. Whether you're competing at your local track or pushing for podium finishes at major events, the B84D delivers the advanced features and adjustability that separate winners from the rest. If you're searching for a competition-grade RC buggy UK that doesn't compromise on quality, this Associated RC10B84D represents the pinnacle of 4WD buggy design.

The B84D is engineered around a tapered 7075-T6 aluminium chassis with optimised weight distribution, delivering a platform that responds precisely to driver input whilst maintaining predictability across varying track conditions. This electric-powered buggy excels on modern off-road circuits, with moulded height-adjustable gearboxes, long-arm suspension geometry and refined aerodynamics working in concert to maximise grip and corner speed. The team kit format means you're purchasing a fully-featured racing platform with comprehensive tuning options, making it an excellent choice for racers who want complete control over their setup.

What truly sets the Associated RC10B84D apart is the depth of adjustment available to fine-tune every aspect of performance. From chassis bracing that controls flex characteristics to multiple motor positions for weight bias adjustment, this is a buggy designed for drivers who understand competitive RC racing and want a platform that matches their ambitions.

Key Features

  • Moulded Height-Adjustable Gearboxes Front and Rear — The front and rear gearboxes feature moulded construction with height adjustment capability, allowing you to optimise drivetrain mesh and efficiency. An additional +2 rear gearbox option is included for high-grip conditions, giving you the flexibility to match your setup to varying track surfaces and weather conditions without needing to purchase additional parts.
  • Long-Arm Suspension Geometry — The extended suspension arm design improves grip and predictability in all conditions by optimising suspension movement and maintaining better tyre contact through corners and over bumps. This geometry has become the standard for modern 1/10 off-road buggies because it delivers superior handling characteristics that competitive drivers demand.
  • Optimised Steering Bellcranks and Rack — Enhanced steering components provide improved bump steer control at all ride heights, meaning your steering response remains consistent whether you're running a high or low ride height setup. This precision is critical in competitive racing where consistent, predictable handling can be the difference between first and second place.
  • Chassis Bracing with Front and Rear Upper and Lower Bracing — Fine-tune chassis flex characteristics with adjustable upper and lower chassis bracing at both front and rear. More bracing increases rigidity for high-grip tracks; less bracing allows flex for low-grip surfaces. This level of adjustability means you're never locked into a single setup and can quickly adapt to track changes.
  • Standard and HRC (High Roll Center) Rear Hubs Included — Both standard and high roll centre rear hub options are supplied, allowing you to select the geometry that best matches your track and driving style. This dual-hub approach eliminates the need for separate purchases and demonstrates Associated's commitment to providing complete tuning flexibility.
  • Insert-Adjustable Caster Block with Multiple Degree Options — The caster block includes inserts providing 0, ±1, and ±2 degree adjustments, letting you dial in the precise front-end geometry needed for your specific track conditions and driving preferences. Caster angle critically affects steering feel and high-speed stability.
  • Forward and Back Motor Positions — Dual motor mounting positions allow you to shift weight bias front-to-rear, providing another powerful tuning tool for optimising weight distribution and handling balance. This feature is typically found only on premium competition buggies.
  • Highly Adjustable Battery Holder with Thumb Tabs — The battery holder features thumb tabs for effortless battery removal and repositioning for weight bias fine-tuning. The flexible mounting design allows you to move the battery forward or back to achieve your ideal weight distribution without requiring different parts.
  • 2.5mm Thick Tapered 7075-T6 Aluminium Chassis — The chassis is constructed from aircraft-grade 7075-T6 aluminium, tapered for optimal weight distribution and structural integrity. At 2.5mm thickness, it provides the strength needed for competitive racing whilst maintaining a lightweight design. The 10-degree kickup and improved departure angle enhance approach and departure characteristics for technical tracks.
  • Moulded Ring and Pinion Gears Included — Quality-moulded ring and pinion gears are supplied as standard, with a 2.50:1 internal gear ratio providing a balanced gearing setup suitable for most track conditions. The moulded construction ensures smooth, quiet operation and consistent performance.
  • Aluminium Centre-Mounted Servo Mount — The servo is mounted centrally using an aluminium bracket, positioning it away from potential impact damage while maintaining clean cable routing and reliable servo operation throughout your racing season.
  • Two Rear Wing Mount Heights — The included 7-inch rear wing can be mounted at two different heights, allowing you to adjust downforce and aerodynamic balance based on track speed and conditions. Lower mounting provides maximum grip for tight, technical tracks; higher mounting reduces drag for faster circuits.
  • Low-Profile Body Design — The low-profile body reduces the vehicle's centre of gravity and wind resistance, improving aerodynamic efficiency and cornering performance. The streamlined design also looks purposeful and aggressive, reflecting the B84D's competition-focused engineering.
  • Shock Tower Covers Front and Rear — Protective covers shield the shock towers from dirt and impact damage, extending the lifespan of this critical component whilst maintaining a professional appearance.
  • 3.5mm Turnbuckles and Ballcups — Durable suspension links use quality 3.5mm turnbuckles and ballcups for reliable operation and easy adjustment. The larger diameter provides increased strength compared to smaller alternatives, critical for consistent competitive performance.
  • 13mm Big-Bore Shocks — The 13mm diameter shocks deliver superior damping performance with increased volume for better heat dissipation and consistent operation throughout extended racing sessions. Big-bore shocks are the competitive standard because they maintain performance consistency lap after lap.

Technical Performance

The TEAM ASSOCIATED B84D represents the current pinnacle of 1/10-scale 4WD off-road buggy engineering, combining premium materials with meticulous attention to suspension geometry and adjustability. The tapered 7075-T6 aluminium chassis forms the foundation, engineered to provide optimal flex characteristics when combined with the front and rear bracing system. The long-arm suspension geometry, coupled with the moulded height-adjustable gearboxes, delivers predictable handling across varying grip conditions. The optimised steering rack and bellcranks minimise bump steer sensitivity, keeping your steering inputs accurate whether running a high or low ride height setup. With the 2.50:1 internal gear ratio and the flexibility to adjust motor position, motor pinion selection, and battery placement, competitive drivers have the tools needed to optimise performance for their specific track conditions. The included 13mm big-bore shocks with quality suspension geometry ensure consistent damping performance, whilst the 7-inch adjustable rear wing provides aerodynamic tuning options. This is an unassembled kit that requires motor, ESC, servo, transmitter/receiver, tyres, wheels, and polycarbonate paint to complete, but once assembled, delivers a competition-ready platform capable of winning races.
