Overview
The TEAM ASSOCIATED RC8B4.1/e FT FOX SHOCK BODIES 16x26.5MM (part number AS81166) are genuine Factory Team replacement shock bodies designed specifically for the RC8B4.1 and RC8B4.1e off-road buggies. Whether you're a competitive racer maintaining your championship-winning machine or an enthusiast keeping your RC buggy in peak condition, these OEM shock bodies are essential spare parts for any RC car UK owner who demands factory-original quality. As an authorised Team Associated retailer, RC Model Shop stocks these genuine components to help you keep your suspension running at its best.
Shock bodies are critical suspension components that house your shock fluid and internal mechanisms, absorbing impacts and maintaining ride height during aggressive driving. Over time, through regular use, racing, or general wear and tear, shock bodies can become damaged, lose their seals, or simply require replacement as part of routine maintenance. By choosing genuine Factory Team FT shock bodies rather than aftermarket alternatives, you ensure that your RC8B4.1 or RC8B4.1e buggy maintains the precise suspension geometry and performance characteristics that make these vehicles renowned competitors in the 1/10 scale off-road racing scene.
The 16x26.5mm size specification identifies the exact format required for your buggy's suspension system, guaranteeing a perfect fit when you're rebuilding or refreshing your setup. These are like-for-like replacements that restore your buggy's suspension to original specification, making them the sensible choice for anyone serious about RC racing or recreational bashing who wants to maintain their vehicle in top condition.
Key Features
- Genuine Factory Team OEM Components — These are authentic Team Associated Factory Team FT shock bodies, not aftermarket copies or budget alternatives. Genuine OEM parts guarantee compatibility, durability and the exact performance characteristics your RC8B4.1 or RC8B4.1e was engineered to deliver, giving you confidence that your suspension will perform as designed by the engineers who built your buggy.
- Precise 16x26.5mm Size Specification — The dimensions identify the exact shock body format required for RC8B4.1 and RC8B4.1e models. This precise sizing ensures a perfect fit when you're servicing or refreshing your buggy's suspension system, eliminating guesswork and ensuring your vehicle handles correctly after reassembly.
- Perfect for Suspension Servicing — When your existing shock bodies become damaged, develop leaks, or simply show signs of wear from intense racing or bashing, these replacement units allow you to restore your suspension to original specification without having to source complete shock assemblies or settle for inferior alternatives.
- Like-for-Like Replacement Design — These shock bodies are designed to be direct replacements, allowing you to transfer your existing springs, pistons, shafts and other internal components from your old shocks if they're still in good condition, potentially saving you money on a complete rebuild whilst still restoring your suspension to factory condition.
- Compatible with RC8B4.1 and RC8B4.1e — Whether you're running the standard RC8B4.1 or the updated RC8B4.1e variant, these shock bodies are specified for both models, making them a versatile spare part that works across the range of modern Team Associated 1/10 scale buggies.
Technical Performance
Shock bodies form the core of your RC buggy's suspension system, functioning as pressure vessels that contain shock fluid whilst housing your shock piston and shaft. The 16x26.5mm dimension refers to the internal diameter and length specifications that define how these components interact with your springs, pistons and suspension geometry. In the context of the RC8B4.1 and RC8B4.1e platform, these shock bodies have been engineered by Team Associated to provide the precise suspension response needed for competitive 1/10 scale off-road buggy racing. The factory specification ensures that when installed with matching springs and pistons, your suspension will deliver the handling characteristics, anti-roll performance and bump compliance that make these vehicles competitive on tracks across the UK and beyond. Quality shock bodies maintain their seals over extended use, preventing fluid loss and maintaining consistent damping performance through practice sessions, qualifying rounds and race heats. The durability of genuine Team Associated components means your investment in these spares will provide reliable performance season after season.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these shock bodies suitable for the RC8B4.1e buggy? — Yes, these 16x26.5mm shock bodies are specified as compatible with both the RC8B4.1 and the updated RC8B4.1e variant, making them a direct replacement for either model in your fleet.
- What makes genuine Factory Team shock bodies better than aftermarket alternatives? — Genuine Team Associated FT shock bodies are engineered to the exact specifications required by your RC8B4.1 or RC8B4.1e buggy. They maintain precise tolerances, proper seal integrity and consistent performance that aftermarket alternatives may not provide. Using OEM components ensures your suspension performs exactly as the engineers intended, which is particularly important if you're competing in races or want reliable performance during intense bashing sessions.
- Can I transfer my existing springs and pistons to these new shock bodies? — These shock bodies are designed as like-for-like replacements, which means if your existing springs, pistons, shafts and other internal suspension components are still in good condition, you can transfer them to these new bodies. This approach is cost-effective when you only need to replace damaged shock bodies rather than complete shock assemblies.
- How do I know if I need new shock bodies? — You should consider replacement shock bodies if you notice fluid leaking from your shocks, if the damping feels inconsistent or if the shock bodies themselves are cracked, dented or damaged. Regular maintenance and inspection of your suspension will help you identify when replacement is needed, keeping your RC buggy performing at its best.
- What is the 16x26.5mm specification? — These dimensions specify the internal diameter and length of the shock body, identifying the exact format required for your RC8B4.1 or RC8B4.1e buggy. Using the correct size ensures proper fit and suspension performance.
- Why should I buy from an authorised retailer? — Purchasing from an authorised Team Associated retailer like RC Model Shop guarantees you're buying genuine, authentic components rather than counterfeit parts. This assurance matters when you're investing in quality spares for your RC car UK hobby.
