Overview

The TEAM ASSOCIATED FACTORY TEAM 7.0mm Short Nut Driver (AS1570) is an essential tool for any RC enthusiast in the UK who wants to work on their RC car with precision and comfort. Whether you're maintaining a competitive race car or a weekend basher, this compact nut driver makes accessing shock mount nuts and other tight areas on your RC model significantly easier than traditional long-handled alternatives. Designed by the experts at Associated Electrics, this tool represents a genuine innovation in RC maintenance equipment, combining practical engineering with thoughtful design that makes pit work faster and more enjoyable.

If you're involved in RC car racing or regular hobby work on your RC vehicles, you'll quickly appreciate why this short nut driver has become so popular among Factory Team users and RC enthusiasts across the UK. The tool addresses a real problem that every RC modeller faces: standard long nut drivers take up valuable space in your toolbox or pit bag, and they can be awkward to use in confined spaces where shock mounts and slipper nuts are located. This Factory Team 7.0mm Short Nut Driver solves that problem elegantly, giving you a tool that's lighter, more compact, and genuinely more comfortable to use during extended pit sessions.

Built to the professional standards you'd expect from the Factory Team range, this 7.0mm nut driver is compatible with all 7mm nuts found across the TEAM ASSOCIATED RC car range, making it an indispensable addition to any serious RC toolkit. Whether you're working on Associated SC10, SR10, Pro2 SC10, B6 series buggies, or B74.2 platforms, you'll find this tool becomes one of your most-reached-for pieces of equipment.

Key Features

  • Lightweight and compact design — The short nut driver is engineered to be significantly lighter and more compact than traditional long-handled alternatives, which means you save valuable space in your toolbox or pit bag and reduce fatigue during extended maintenance sessions on your RC car.
  • Hard anodized finish — The hard anodized coating provides exceptional durability and professional appearance, protecting the tool from corrosion and wear even with frequent use in competitive environments or harsh pit conditions across the UK.
  • Comfortable diameter — The tool features a carefully designed grip diameter that feels natural in your hand, making installing and removing 7.0mm nuts a breeze compared to smaller or awkwardly-proportioned alternatives.
  • Knurled surface — The knurled grip surface provides excellent traction even when your hands are wet or sweaty from working in the pit, ensuring secure control during critical fastening and loosening operations on your RC model.
  • Laser-etched logo and size marking — Quick identification is guaranteed thanks to laser-etched marking showing the tool size and Factory Team branding, so you can instantly recognize this tool in your toolbox or pit bag amongst other equipment.
  • Perfect for slipper nuts — The short design makes this tool ideal for accessing slipper nuts and other critical fasteners in tight spaces where longer tools simply won't fit or are difficult to manoeuvre.
  • Fits all 7mm nuts — This universal 7.0mm nut driver works with any 7mm nut found on TEAM ASSOCIATED RC cars and compatible platforms, making it versatile across your entire collection.

Technical Performance

The TEAM ASSOCIATED FACTORY TEAM 7.0mm Short Nut Driver represents excellent engineering focused on practical usability for RC car maintenance. Manufactured from quality materials with hard anodized finishing, this tool delivers the durability and precision you need when working on competitive RC vehicles. The 7.0mm hex drive socket is precisely machined to fit snugly on 7mm fasteners without stripping, ensuring reliable engagement every time you use it. The shorter length compared to traditional nut drivers makes it approximately 30% more compact, which significantly reduces storage footprint whilst maintaining full functional capacity. The lightweight construction means less hand fatigue during extended maintenance sessions, yet the tool remains robust enough for regular competitive use without flexing or bending. The knurled surface provides measurable grip improvement, particularly valuable when working in wet pit conditions or during long practice days where moisture and sweat can affect tool handling. The hard anodized finish has been proven across Factory Team competition environments to resist corrosion and maintain its professional appearance through years of regular use.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between the 7.0mm Short Nut Driver and other Associated nut driver options? — TEAM ASSOCIATED offer multiple nut driver options including the 5.5mm Short Nut Driver (AS1568) for smaller fasteners, and the 7mm Nut Driver with T-Handle (AS1569) which features a different grip style. The 7.0mm Short Nut Driver AS1570 is optimized for quick, frequent access to 7mm nuts in tight spaces with a comfortable short handle design that reduces toolbox space requirements.
  • Is this suitable for beginners learning to maintain their RC cars? — Absolutely. This tool is designed for anyone working on RC vehicles, from absolute beginners to competitive racers. The comfortable diameter and lightweight design make it easier for new hobbyists to use than traditional tools, whilst the quality construction means it will last through years of learning and development.
  • What makes this better than a standard long nut driver? — The short nut driver offers several concrete advantages: it takes up significantly less space in your pit bag or toolbox, it's lighter and reduces hand fatigue during extended use, it accesses tight spaces more easily where longer tools won't fit or are difficult to manoeuvre, and the comfortable diameter makes it genuinely more pleasant to use repeatedly.
  • Which TEAM ASSOCIATED RC cars does this fit? — This 7.0mm nut driver is compatible with all TEAM ASSOCIATED RC platforms including the SC10, SR10, Pro2 SC10, B6 series buggies, B6.3, B6.4, B6.4D, B74.2, B74.2D, and equivalent models. It provides measurable protection against corrosion from pit moisture and sweat, extends the tool's lifespan significantly, and maintains a professional finish that resists scratching and wear from regular competitive use.
  • Can I use this for models other than TEAM ASSOCIATED? — This is a 7.0mm nut driver, so it will work with any 7mm fasteners on any RC car regardless of brand. However, it's optimized for TEAM ASSOCIATED vehicles where 7mm fasteners are standard specifications.
