- 12-Bit (4096) Digital Resolution — This advanced resolution delivers exceptional precision and smooth servo movement, essential for maintaining accurate steering control during high-speed racing where even minor steering inputs dramatically affect handling and lap times.
- Titanium Gears — The use of titanium gearing ensures outstanding durability and long service life, resisting wear from continuous operation and providing the reliability demanded by competitive racers who cannot afford servo failure mid-race.
- Coreless Motor Design — The coreless motor architecture provides high speed and incredible efficiency whilst consuming minimal electrical power, allowing longer flight times or extended use from battery packs before voltage sag becomes an issue.
- Super Lightweight Construction — By keeping servo weight to just 62 grams, the SC1268SGB minimises the weight penalty on your RC car, preserving the handling characteristics and acceleration you've spent months tuning and optimising.
- Double Bearing Design — The dual bearing arrangement ensures smooth, reliable servo shaft rotation and eliminates play that could compromise steering precision, critical for maintaining the predictable handling required in competitive racing.
- 25-Tooth Spline Horn Fitment — Standard 25-tooth servo horn compatibility ensures broad fitment across most RC car models and linkage systems, making this an adaptable choice for multiple vehicle builds.
Technical Performance
The Savox SC1268SGB represents a masterclass in servo engineering, combining high-torque output with the efficiency demanded by modern RC car racing. At 7.4V with an unregulated LiPo battery, this servo delivers a phenomenal 347.2 in/oz of torque—a specification that places it firmly in the territory of premium performance servos. The unique steel gear construction, paired with the advanced 12-bit digital processing, creates a servo capable of handling aggressive steering inputs without gear backlash or performance degradation. With dimensions of 40.3×20.2×37.2mm and a weight of just 62 grams, the servo maintains a compact footprint suitable for tight servo bays whilst the aluminium case design actively cools the servo during operation. The servo's performance scales beautifully across different voltage inputs: at 4.8V it delivers 160 oz-in of torque with a 0.15-second transit time, at 6.0V it produces 208 oz-in with a 0.13-second response, and at the rated 7.4V LiPo voltage it achieves the headline 347.2 oz-in figure with a blistering 0.11-second speed rating. This makes the SC1268SGB equally at home powering steering functions on high-speed 1/8th scale nitro buggies or providing the responsive throttle control needed for precision racing applications. The coreless motor ensures minimum power draw, reducing the electrical load on your receiver battery or main LiPo pack, whilst the titanium gearing provides the durability needed for repeated race use without maintenance intervals becoming prohibitively expensive.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Savox SC1268SGB suitable for beginners to RC car racing? — Whilst this is a premium servo designed for high-performance applications, beginners can certainly use it. However, its true potential is realised in competitive or demanding racing scenarios. Beginners may find standard-duty servos more than adequate for learning, though investing in quality servo components from the outset does prevent the need for upgrades as skills develop. The servo's responsiveness and precision will actually help newer drivers learn smoother steering technique.
- What battery voltage should I use with this servo? — The SC1268SGB is rated for operation at 7.4V when powered by an unregulated LiPo battery, which is when it achieves the maximum 347.2 oz-in torque output. The servo is also compatible with lower voltages: it operates at 4.8V producing 160 oz-in, and at 6.0V producing 208 oz-in. For optimal performance and to access the full 347.2 oz-in specification, you must use a 2S LiPo battery (7.4V nominal) without any voltage regulator in the system.
- What makes the Black Edition different from standard Savox servos? — The Black Edition is a limited-edition range released specifically to meet the aesthetic demands of modern RC racers whose vehicles feature all-black colour schemes. The key differences are: the black aluminium centre case instead of standard cases, laser-etched details for premium finishing, and a 200mm black shielded lead wire instead of standard wiring. Internally, it shares the same high-performance specifications and engineering as the core SC1268SG model, meaning you're getting identical performance with superior visual appeal.
- Is this servo waterproof? — The source materials do not specify an IP waterproof rating for the SC1268SGB. Whilst the aluminium case construction provides some environmental protection, it is recommended to treat this as a standard servo and avoid prolonged exposure to water or muddy conditions. If racing in wet conditions, it is wise to inspect the servo connections regularly and ensure all plugs are clean and dry.
- What applications is the SC1268SGB best suited for? — Savox specifically recommends this servo for 1/8th scale nitro racing applications, where the high torque and responsiveness provide genuine competitive advantage. However, the servo is also described as a killer choice for any RC application requiring massive amounts of torque, making it suitable for: electric buggies requiring responsive steering, rock crawlers needing precise throttle control, truggy racing, and any high-performance RC car discipline.
- How does the double bearing design benefit my RC car? — The double bearing construction ensures the servo shaft rotates smoothly without any lateral play or wobble. This translates to more predictable steering response, eliminating any sloppy feel in the steering linkage and ensuring that the precise digital commands from your receiver are translated into exact steering inputs without mechanical slop.
- What's the advantage of titanium gears? — Titanium gears are significantly more durable than standard steel gears, resisting wear even with continuous operation and aggressive inputs. For racing applications where servo failure during competition is unacceptable, titanium gearing provides peace of mind and extends the interval between maintenance or replacement, ultimately reducing your cost of ownership.
- Will this servo work with my receiver? — The SC1268SGB is a standard digital servo using conventional servo connectors and protocols. It is compatible with virtually all RC receivers from major manufacturers. The 25-tooth spline horn is the industry standard, ensuring broad compatibility with most servo linkage arms and control horns across different RC car models.
