Technical Performance
The Savox SC1252MG+ represents a masterclass in servo engineering, delivering exceptional performance through a carefully engineered combination of high-speed brushed motor, precision digital servo electronics, and robust mechanical construction. Operating at 6V (the standard voltage for most modern RC equipment), this servo reaches a blindingly fast 0.07 seconds per 60-degree rotation, making it amongst the fastest servos available for compact applications. The 7-kilogramme torque specification at 6V (97.2 ounce-inches) provides ample pulling force for steering linkages, suspension components, and control surfaces on 1/10 scale on-road vehicles, even when directional loads increase during aggressive cornering or emergency manoeuvres. The servo utilises a brushed motor design operating at 240Hz refresh rate, sampling control inputs continuously throughout each second to maintain responsiveness that feels completely natural and instantaneous to the driver.
Build quality is exceptional throughout. The metal gear train withstands the mechanical stresses of competitive racing, whilst the aluminium case provides both lightweight construction and superior thermal management—critical for maintaining consistent performance during the sustained, high-temperature conditions of multi-round racing events. The double ball bearing design minimises friction in the output shaft rotation, contributing directly to both the servo's impressive speed and its efficiency. Weight is kept to just 44.5 grams through careful engineering, allowing you to maintain optimal vehicle balance and weight distribution. The servo's operating temperature range spans from -10°C to 50°C, making it suitable for year-round RC racing in the UK climate, whether you're racing at summer outdoor events or winter indoor carpeted tracks.
Electrical characteristics are well-suited to standard RC vehicle power systems. At 6V with no load, the servo draws 150 milliamps at 4.8V or 180 milliamps at 6.0V during normal operation, whilst idle power draw is just 5 milliamps—efficient enough not to significantly drain your vehicle's battery during standby. Under full load (stall conditions), draw increases to 2000mA at 4.8V or 3000mA at 6.0V, which your vehicle's power distribution system must accommodate. The pulse width range of 950 to 2050 microseconds with 1500 microsecond neutral position provides standard servo signal compatibility with virtually all modern RC receiver systems, whilst the maximum travel capability of approximately 160 degrees at extreme pulse widths (700 to 2300 microseconds) gives advanced users additional setup flexibility.
