Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Corally Voltax 120C suitable for high-performance RC car racing? — Absolutely. The 120C continuous discharge rate and LiHV chemistry make this battery specifically designed for competitive RC car racing where maximum power output and reliability are essential. The battery is EFRA and BRCA competition approved, confirming it meets official racing standards across the UK and Europe.
- What is the difference between standard LiPo and LiHV chemistry? — LiHV (Lithium High Voltage) chemistry operates at 3.8V per cell compared to 3.7V per cell in standard LiPo, resulting in a nominal pack voltage of 15.2V for 4S versus 14.8V. The higher voltage delivers more power and torque to your motor throughout the discharge cycle. LiHV batteries require specific chargers capable of handling the higher cell voltage, typically balancing chargers with LiHV charging profiles.
- How long will the battery last on a single charge? — Runtime depends on your specific motor, ESC, gear ratio, and driving style. The 6500 mAh capacity provides substantial energy storage. A typical competitive RC car running a high-power brushless motor might achieve 15-25 minutes of continuous driving, whilst more conservative driving styles could achieve considerably longer runtimes. The low-sag 120C discharge capability means you maintain full voltage and power delivery even during peak acceleration.
- What charger do I need to charge this battery? — You require a charger capable of supporting LiHV chemistry with a JST-XH balance connector and capable of delivering up to 3C charge current (19.5 amps for this pack). Many modern hobby chargers include LiHV profiles. Your charger must support 4S balance charging via the JST-XH connector to ensure all four cells remain perfectly balanced and to maximise battery lifespan.
