Key Features
- 14-Pole Rotor Design — The multi-pole configuration significantly reduces torque ripple and delivers incredibly smooth power delivery, which is especially important for crawlers and scalers where precise control and predictable throttle response are essential for navigating technical terrain.
- Sensored Brushless Technology — Unlike sensorless motors, this sensored system provides electronic feedback that enables perfect startup behaviour, smooth low-speed running, and reliable commutation across the entire RPM range, making it ideal for controlled crawling and technical driving.
- CNC Machined Aluminium Housing — The precision-engineered housing provides excellent durability whilst maintaining a lightweight structure, ensuring the motor can withstand the demands of intense RC use whilst keeping overall vehicle weight to a minimum for optimal performance.
- High-Purity Copper Windings — Insulated premium copper windings reduce electrical resistance and heat generation, resulting in improved efficiency, longer runtime between charges, and enhanced motor reliability even during extended driving sessions.
- High-Quality Alloy Steel Output Shaft — The robust 3.175mm (1/8 inch) shaft is engineered for durability and smooth rotation, capable of handling the demands of powerful ESC systems and frequent use without flex or wear, ensuring years of reliable service.
- Pre-Installed 3.5mm Gold-Plated Bullet Connectors — The premium gold-plated connectors come factory-installed, providing excellent electrical conductivity and a secure, corrosion-resistant connection that requires no soldering or additional preparation before installation.
- 2-3S LiPo Compatibility — This motor is specifically optimised for 2S and 3S LiPo battery packs, the most popular power sources for RC crawlers and scalers in the UK, ensuring peak performance with commonly available battery systems.
- Spektrum Brand Authority — As part of the trusted Spektrum ecosystem, this motor integrates seamlessly with Spektrum ESCs, receivers, and batteries, providing a unified system approach that simplifies setup and guarantees compatibility across your entire RC platform.
Technical Performance
The Spektrum Firma 3530-2000Kv motor represents serious engineering for dedicated RC enthusiasts. At 3530 size with a 2000Kv rating, this motor delivers exceptional torque characteristics perfectly suited to 2-3S LiPo systems, making it the ideal choice for crawler builds, scaler projects, and any application demanding precise speed control and reliable performance. The 14-pole rotor configuration creates a higher pole count than many competing motors, directly translating to smoother power delivery with significantly reduced cogging and torque ripple—critical characteristics for technical driving where smooth throttle response prevents wheel slipping and maintains traction on challenging terrain. Built from CNC-machined aluminium, the motor housing provides structural rigidity whilst keeping weight low, a crucial balance for maintaining optimal vehicle handling. The insulated high-purity copper windings minimise electrical losses, ensuring more of your battery's energy converts to usable torque rather than wasted heat, extending your driving sessions whilst protecting the motor from thermally-induced degradation. The alloy steel 3.175mm output shaft is engineered for longevity, resistant to the stresses of heavy-duty use and capable of transmitting power reliably to your vehicle's drivetrain. The sensored design gives this motor a significant advantage over sensorless alternatives—electronic hall sensors monitor rotor position and feed real-time feedback to your ESC, enabling perfect commutation at any RPM, flawless startup behaviour even under load, and smooth low-speed crawling that sensorless motors struggle to match. For UK RC enthusiasts building crawler rigs or scaler vehicles, this motor represents a genuine upgrade that transforms driving experience through professional-grade engineering and proven Spektrum reliability.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Spektrum Firma 3530-2000Kv motor suitable for beginners? — Whilst this motor is engineered to the highest standards, it's best suited to intermediate and advanced RC enthusiasts who understand brushless motor operation and ESC programming. Beginners should consider fully assembled ready-to-run systems, though experienced builders will find this motor straightforward to install into compatible vehicles.
- What battery does this motor need? — The Firma 3530-2000Kv is optimised for 2S and 3S LiPo battery packs. A 2S LiPo provides approximately 7.4 volts, while 3S delivers around 11.1 volts, both delivering excellent performance with this motor's 2000Kv rating. Always pair with an appropriately-rated ESC designed for your chosen battery voltage.
- What makes sensored brushless motors better than sensorless? — Sensored motors like this one include electronic hall effect sensors that continuously monitor rotor position and provide real-time feedback to your ESC. This enables perfect commutation at any speed, reliable startup behaviour even under load, and exceptionally smooth low-speed running—all crucial advantages for technical crawler driving where precision and predictability matter.
- How does the 14-pole design improve performance? — The 14 magnetic poles create more commutation events per rotor revolution compared to motors with fewer poles, dramatically reducing torque ripple and cogging. The result is noticeably smoother power delivery across the entire RPM range, which translates to better throttle response, more consistent crawling speed, and improved overall drivability.
- What's the difference between this 2000Kv model and other Firma motors? — Spektrum's Firma range includes various Kv ratings designed for different applications. The 2000Kv version sits in the mid-range, offering a balanced combination of speed and torque ideal for crawlers and scalers. Lower Kv motors (like 1400Kv) emphasise maximum torque for extreme terrain, whilst higher Kv variants (such as 3200Kv) prioritise top speed for racing applications.
- Can I use this motor with any ESC? — This motor requires a brushless ESC with sensored capability—using it with a sensorless ESC will result in poor performance and potential reliability issues. Spektrum manufactures a full range of sensored ESCs across different amperage ratings to match your motor's power requirements and vehicle's current draw.
- Is this motor waterproof? — The motor itself is not fully sealed against submersion, though the CNC-machined aluminium housing provides good splash resistance for normal use. For water-crossing applications, consider protective measures such as sealed connectors and waterproof ESC systems designed for wet conditions.
