This 3-cell lithium polymer battery delivers the perfect balance of capacity and discharge rating for hobby-grade RC cars, trucks, and other electric-powered models. Whether you're a weekend basher enjoying casual runs at your local track, or an RC hobbyist looking for consistent power delivery, this Radient LiPo provides the performance you need without unnecessary bulk or weight penalties.
Designed with practicality in mind, the Radient LiPo 3S 4000mAh battery features industry-standard Deans (HCT) connectors that ensure compatibility with a vast range of RC vehicles available in the UK market. The soft case construction provides protection during transport and storage while keeping the overall package weight minimal. With an 11.1V nominal voltage and 4000mAh capacity, this battery strikes an excellent middle ground between runtime and pack weight, making it ideal for a diverse range of RC applications from electric RC cars to powered RC accessories.
The 30C discharge rating ensures adequate power output for most hobby-level brushless and brushed motors, delivering smooth acceleration and responsive throttle control throughout the flight or run. This makes the Radient LiPo 3S 4000mAh an excellent choice for anyone upgrading their RC setup or looking for a reliable spare battery to keep their hobby sessions running longer without expensive downtime waiting for recharges.
Key Features
- 3S Cell Configuration (11.1V Nominal) — The three-cell design provides 11.1V nominal output, which is the standard voltage for countless RC vehicles sold in the UK. This voltage is widely compatible with ESCs and motors across different manufacturers and scales.
- 4000mAh Capacity — This substantial capacity delivers extended runtime compared to smaller batteries, allowing you to spend more time actually driving rather than constantly recharging. For typical hobby use, you can expect meaningful run times depending on your motor and driving style.
- 30C Continuous Discharge Rating — The 30C rating provides sufficient continuous current output for most hobby-grade brushless systems and traditional brushed motors. This allows the battery to deliver power reliably without excessive voltage sag during acceleration and high-load situations.
- Deans (HCT) Connector — The Deans connector is one of the most popular connector standards in the RC hobby worldwide. This ensures compatibility with the vast majority of RC vehicle ESCs available in the UK without requiring adapters or modifications.
- Soft Case Design — Unlike hard plastic cases, the soft case construction is lightweight and flexible, protecting the cells during transport and storage whilst keeping overall weight to a minimum. This contributes to better handling and performance in your RC vehicle.
- Compact Dimensions — Measuring just 135mm in length, 44mm in width, and 25mm in height, this battery pack is compact enough to fit in most RC car chassis whilst remaining accessible for charging and maintenance.
- Lightweight Construction — At just 0.32kg (0.71lbs) including the battery case, this pack is light enough to integrate into various RC platforms without significantly affecting weight distribution or handling characteristics.
Technical Performance
The Radient LiPo 3S 4000mAh 11.1V 30C battery represents solid engineering focused on real-world RC applications rather than extreme specifications. The three lithium polymer cells are configured in series to deliver the standard 11.1V nominal voltage that forms the backbone of the RC hobby ecosystem. The 4000mAh capacity strikes an excellent balance between providing meaningful runtime and maintaining a practical pack weight that won't burden your RC vehicle with excessive mass. The 30C continuous discharge rating is calculated to safely deliver up to 120 amps of current (4.0Ah × 30C), which is more than adequate for most brushless motors in the 2000-4000KV range and all conventional brushed motors used in hobby-grade RC vehicles sold in the UK market. This discharge rating also provides sufficient headroom to handle peak current draws during hard acceleration without triggering voltage cutoffs or thermal throttling in modern speed controllers. The soft case construction uses durable, flexible material that flexes slightly under load whilst protecting the delicate cell structure from physical damage during crashes or rough handling. This design philosophy prioritises longevity and reliability over minimalist weight savings, making this battery an excellent choice for those who value dependability in their RC setup.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the 30C discharge rating and why does it matter for my RC car? — The 30C rating indicates the battery can safely discharge at 30 times its capacity continuously. For this 4000mAh battery, that equals 120 amps maximum. This rating ensures your battery can handle the current demands of brushless motors and ESCs without voltage sag during hard acceleration. Higher C ratings allow smoother throttle response and maintain performance under load, which is why the 30C rating on this Radient pack makes it suitable for performance-oriented hobby use rather than slow crawlers.
- Is the Radient LiPo 3S 4000mAh suitable for beginners? — Yes, this battery is excellent for beginners. The Deans connector is industry-standard and widely compatible. The 30C rating provides adequate power for learning without being overpowered, and the 4000mAh capacity gives reasonable runtime to build skills. The soft case offers good protection if your vehicle experiences crashes whilst learning. You will need a compatible LiPo charger (sold separately) and should follow safe lithium polymer charging practices.
- What RC vehicles are compatible with an 11.1V 3S LiPo battery? — Almost all hobby-grade RC cars, trucks, and buggies sold in the UK use 3S LiPo batteries as standard. This includes 1/10 scale electric RC buggies, short-course trucks, monster trucks, and touring cars from manufacturers like Traxxas, ARRMA, Losi, and others. Always verify your vehicle ESC is rated for 3S LiPo before connecting this battery to avoid equipment damage.
- How long will the 4000mAh battery run for on a single charge? — Runtime depends on your motor size, vehicle weight, terrain, and driving style. Generally, a 4000mAh 3S battery in a typical 1/10 scale RC car will provide 15-30 minutes of actual driving time. More powerful motors and aggressive driving will reduce this; gentle driving and lower-power setups will extend it. Having multiple batteries allows continuous racing or bashing without waiting for recharges.
- What charger do I need for this LiPo battery? — You need a dedicated LiPo charger that supports 3S batteries with Deans connectors. The charger should have balancing capability to keep all three cells at equal voltage during charging. Do not use regular NiMH or NiCd chargers, as lithium polymer batteries require specialised charging to prevent damage and safety hazards.
- How should I store this battery when not in use? — Store the Radient LiPo at room temperature in the soft case provided. For long-term storage (more than a few weeks), charge to approximately 50% capacity and store in a cool, dry place. Check the battery monthly to ensure no swelling or damage has occurred. Never store fully charged or fully discharged for extended periods, as this reduces cell lifespan.
- What is the difference between 30C and higher C-rated batteries? — The C rating indicates maximum continuous discharge current capacity. A 50C battery can discharge at higher amperage than a 30C, providing better performance under extreme load, but typically at higher cost. For most UK hobbyists and standard brushless setups, 30C provides ample performance. Only upgrade to higher C ratings if you're running very high-power motors or professional racing setups.
