Key Features

  • 50C Continuous Discharge Rating — The 50C rating means this battery can safely discharge at 250 amps continuously (5000mAh × 50C), providing exceptional current delivery for high-powered brushless RC motors and demanding driving conditions without voltage sag or performance degradation, which is critical for competitive racing and high-performance RC applications.
  • 6S (22.2V) Configuration — The six-cell series arrangement delivers 22.2V nominal voltage, which is substantially higher than 3S or 4S alternatives, enabling your RC motor to produce greater speed and torque whilst improving overall efficiency and reducing current draw through your electronic speed controller.
  • 5000mAh Capacity — With 5000 milliamp-hours of charge capacity, this battery provides extended runtime compared to smaller-capacity packs, allowing longer driving sessions before requiring a recharge and reducing the need to carry multiple batteries for full-day RC hobby sessions.
  • XT90 Connector — The XT90 connector is a professional-grade, gold-plated connector system that supports secure, low-resistance connections essential for high-current setups, minimising voltage loss and heat generation during discharge, and ensuring reliable power transfer to your ESC and motor.
  • Compact Soft Case Design — Measuring 126 x 59 x 43mm and weighing just 653g, this battery features a protective soft case that balances durability with portability, fitting easily within modern RC chassis whilst remaining compact enough to transport between the track and your home workshop.
  • Consistent Power Delivery — The engineering and construction of this Radient LiPo ensures stable voltage output throughout the discharge cycle, providing your brushless RC motor with reliable, predictable power that translates to consistent lap times and dependable performance during critical race moments.
  • Professional-Grade Construction — Radient batteries are engineered with quality materials and manufacturing standards that meet the demands of serious RC enthusiasts, offering the reliability and longevity expected from established battery manufacturers trusted across the UK RC hobby community.

Technical Performance

The Radient LiPo 6S 5000mAh 22.2V 50C XT90 represents serious engineering for demanding RC applications. The 50C discharge rating is particularly significant for high-performance setups: at 5000mAh capacity, this enables a maximum continuous discharge of 250 amps, which is more than sufficient for brushless motors in the 3660 to 4274 size range operating at high KV ratings. The 6S (22.2V) voltage configuration is optimised for models where higher voltage translates directly to improved performance — the motor draws less current for a given power output compared to 4S systems, reducing heat generation in both the motor and electronic speed controller whilst allowing smaller-gauge wiring and more compact ESC installations. The XT90 connector features gold-plated contacts that minimise resistance and voltage drop, a critical specification for maintaining peak performance in high-current applications where every volt matters for lap-time consistency. The soft case construction incorporates protective layers that prevent physical damage during transport and charging, extending the battery's lifespan when properly maintained. The 653g mass is carefully optimised to provide substantial capacity without creating excessive weight that would negatively impact acceleration, braking performance, or handling balance in competitive RC buggy, truck, or truggy platforms. For RC car enthusiasts in the UK pushing their machines to the limit, whether in on-road racing, off-road competition, or high-speed bashing scenarios, this battery delivers the stable, high-current power delivery that separates amateur setups from professional-grade RC equipment. The 22.2V nominal voltage means your brushless motor, typically rated for 2S-6S operation, will operate near its peak efficiency point, providing the best combination of speed, torque, and motor longevity available from your particular motor's specifications.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the Radient 6S 5000mAh 22.2V suitable for my RC car UK setup? — Yes, provided your RC vehicle is designed to accept a 6S (22.2V) LiPo battery, features an XT90 connector (or you have an appropriate adapter), and has sufficient space within the chassis for the 126 x 59 x 43mm dimensions. The 5000mAh capacity and 50C discharge rating make it ideal for serious RC enthusiasts running brushless motors in buggies, trucks, and truggies. If your model uses a different connector or voltage specification, you may need adapter cables or a different battery pack entirely.
  • What is the discharge rating and why does the 50C matter? — The 50C discharge rating means this 5000mAh battery can continuously deliver 250 amps of current safely (calculated as 5000mAh × 50C = 250A). This high discharge rating is essential for brushless RC motors operating at full throttle, ensuring the battery maintains stable voltage even under extreme current draw, which is critical for maintaining consistent performance during competitive racing or aggressive bashing without voltage sag that would reduce speed and power.
  • Will this battery fit in my RC model? — The battery dimensions are 126mm length × 59mm width × 43mm height, with a weight of 653g. These measurements should be compared against your specific RC vehicle's battery compartment specifications. Models designed to accept standard-sized 6S LiPo batteries will typically accommodate this pack, but always verify space availability before purchase. RC Model Shop can provide advice on compatibility — contact us on 01543 577278 if you're unsure whether this battery will fit your particular model.
  • What type of charger do I need for this battery? — You will require a dedicated LiPo battery charger capable of charging 6S (22.2V) lithium polymer packs. The charger must support balance charging functionality to safely charge all six cells to equal voltage levels, preventing cell damage and extending battery lifespan. Standard LiPo chargers from reputable manufacturers like Hobbywing, Spektrum, or similar brands will be suitable. Do not attempt to charge this battery with chargers designed for NiMH or single-cell Li-ion batteries.
  • Is the XT90 connector what my RC vehicle uses? — Many modern high-performance RC vehicles use XT90 connectors for their advantages in high-current applications, but some models may use Tamiya, Deans, EC3, or other connector types. If your model doesn't feature an XT90 connector, you will need to purchase a compatible adapter cable or consider having the connector professionally replaced. RC Model Shop staff can advise on connector compatibility — give us a call or visit our Walsall store.
  • How long will this battery last on a single charge? — Runtime depends on your specific RC model's motor size, ESC settings, driving style, and throttle usage. A general estimate: with a typical 3660-size brushless motor in an RC buggy or truck, you can expect 15-25 minutes of running time at mixed throttle levels, or 8-12 minutes at consistently high throttle. Lighter models and more efficient setups may achieve longer runtimes, whilst heavier models or aggressive racing will consume the charge more quickly. Always have multiple batteries available for full-day RC sessions.
  • What is the recommended age for this battery? — The manufacturer recommends this battery for users aged 14 years and upwards. This age recommendation reflects the fact that proper lithium polymer battery handling, storage, and charging safety requires maturity and responsibility. Adult supervision is strongly recommended for younger users, and all users should read and understand LiPo safety guidelines before use.
  • How should I store this battery when not in use? — LiPo batteries should be stored in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight and heat sources, ideally at a partial charge state (around 50% capacity) if you're storing the battery for extended periods. Many RC enthusiasts use dedicated LiPo storage bags or boxes designed to contain potential battery failures. Never store a fully charged or completely depleted LiPo battery for long periods, as this accelerates cell degradation and reduces overall lifespan.
  • What makes the XT90 connector suitable for this battery? — The XT90 connector features gold-plated contacts specifically engineered for high-current applications. Gold plating minimises contact resistance, reducing voltage drop and heat generation during discharge. The secure connection design prevents accidental disconnection under vibration and stress. The XT90 is particularly popular in competitive RC racing and high-performance bashing where every fraction of voltage and current delivery matters for consistent performance.
