Inspired by one of the highest-performance EDF (Electric Ducted Fan) sport jet models ever designed – the iconic Habu 32x – the E-flite^®: Habu XS (eXtra Sport) 80mm EDF also features swept-back wing and stabilizer trailing edges to enhance the appearance and performance. The overall design, including the wing featuring leading edge extensions, was scaled up from the extremely popular Habu SS (Super Sport) 50mm and 70mm models to deliver incredible low-speed handling characteristics that make it easier to fly at slower speeds and to land. This makes it one of the best first-ever "full-house" jet models for low-time EDF pilots and one of the best-ever everyday sport jets for experienced pilots! Both versions are equipped with LED lights, shock-absorbing struts, and a power system that’s compatible with popular 6S 4000–7000mAh batteries and features a Spektrum Avian 130-amp Smart ESC with optional-use motor/thrust reversing. The BNF Basic version also includes a factory-installed AR637TA+ receiver that delivers real-time telemetry data along with the benefits of exclusive and expertly-tuned AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies to make it quicker to get in the air – plus easier and more enjoyable to fly than other similar class models!

E-flite Habu XS 80mm EDF RC Airplane Overview

Based on the legendary Habu design, the E-flite^®: Habu XS (eXtra Sport) 80mm EDF is a more powerful and capable "full-house" version of the popular Habu SS (Super Sport) 50mm and 70mm models. It has an extremely wide flight envelope that combines incredible low and high-speed performance plus aerobatic capability, making it an excellent choice for experienced and low-time jet pilots. At its core is a 6S compatible Spektrum brushless motor and AvianT 130-amp Smart ESC matched to a 12-blade fan that works with the expertly engineered and optimized ducting to deliver an abundance of speed, thrust, and a turbine-like sound – without the need for "cheater" holes. It’s capable of level flight top speeds up to 120 MPH and has impressive vertical performance. Plus, it can fit batteries from 4000mAh up to 7000mAh to deliver class-leading flight times.

No glue is required for assembly, and the factory-finished one-piece wing, separate one-piece stabilizers, and fuselage bolt together so the Habu XS can be ready to fly in almost no time. The lightweight, composite-reinforced EPO airframe is factory-finished in a premium, fully painted trim scheme, while the plastic-capped hatch edges and opening improve durability to prevent damage and paint chipping when installing/removing batteries. Eight factory-installed digital, metal-geared servos with ball-link equipped linkages, plus control surfaces with unique captured rod hinges, deliver crisp and precise control at every speed. Functional features include LED landing and navigation lights, extremely effective flaps, and electric retracts with shock-absorbing, trailing-link struts on the nose and main gear so you can easily fly from grass and other surfaces.

Both versions include the factory-installed power system and servos. The BNF^®: Basic version also has a factory-installed Spektrum AR637TA+ receiver featuring enhanced AS3X+^®: and optional-use SAFE^®: Select technologies. When using compatible AirWare^®:-equipped transmitters, the receiver and Smart ESC supply overall battery voltage, current draw, motor RPM, and other telemetry data in real-time - with both Smart and non-Smart batteries. With a 7–8+ channel transmitter, you can also utilize the optional-use motor/thrust reversing to shorten rollouts after landing and for other unique ground handling capabilities. It all adds up to deliver a full-house and high-performance EDF jet experience unlike any other for low-time to experienced jet pilots!

Skill Level 2 for the E-flite Habu XS (eXtra Sport) 80mm EDF

Skill Level 2 – Some Experience Required

Skill Level 2 aircraft, like this one, are suitable for RC pilots who already have some experience and the skills to assemble, set up, and fly similar class models. And although this is one of the easiest-to-fly "full-house" Habu models yet, it’s not a suitable first-ever RC aircraft for new pilots or first-ever EDF (Electric Ducted Fan) jet model for intermediate to experienced RC pilots. You should have the experience and skills necessary to successfully fly simpler EDF models like the E-flite Habu SS (Super Sport) 50mm or 70mm or similar jet models before attempting to fly the Habu XS (eXtra Sport) 80mm EDF.

Are you new to flying RC (Radio Controlled) aircraft? If you are, the Habu XS 80mm is not a suitable first-ever RC model, and we recommend learning to fly with one of our purpose-built trainer aircraft such as the E-flite^®: Habu STS (Smart Trainer with SAFE) 70mm EDF (www.horizonhobby.cc/HabuSTSRTF). It’s equipped with exclusive and innovative SAFE technology, making it possible for almost anyone to learn to fly successfully! The Ready-To-Fly (RTF) Basic version includes nearly everything needed to fly (except for a compatible LiPo battery and charger sold separately or together in a money-saving Powerstage bundle) and is a perfect choice if you’re a new RC pilot.

Exclusive Technologies

The BNF Basic version Habu XS 80mm EDF is equipped with exclusive Spektrum AS3X+ and SAFE Select technologies. Enhanced AS3X+ technology works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence and deliver an even more locked-in feel than standard AS3X, which makes it seem like you’re flying a much larger airplane. Optional-use SAFE Select offers pitch and bank angle limits and automatic self-leveling that can be turned on and off at the flip of a switch! If you don’t want to enable the SAFE Select features, simply bind the receiver normally, and only AS3X+ will be active. The receiver is also loaded with a Smart Transmitter File (STF) that allows you to import all the settings for NX and iX series transmitters during the binding process to be ready to fly in less time than ever!

Smart Technology

The exclusive Spektrum Avian Smart ESC provides a variety of real-time power system-related telemetry data, including overall battery voltage, current draw, motor RPM, and more – with both Smart and non-Smart batteries – via compatible receivers (including the AR637TA+) and Spektrum AirWare equipped transmitters (including the DX6e and 8e, DX6 G2/3 and 8 G2, the DX9, NX6 to 20, iX12 to 20 and others) while you fly. Plus, optional-use motor/thrust reversing can help shorten rollout after landing and offers other special ground handling capabilities (7–8+ channel transmitter required for reversing).

Plus, the airframe is factory-finished in a premium, fully painted, and high-visibility trim scheme.

Bind-N-Fly Completion Level Advantage

Already own a Spektrum^T transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) aircraft make getting into the air quickly and with the best control experience possible easier than ever. They come out of the box with the power system, servos and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed so all you need to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, finish any final assembly, and fly!

This Bind-N-Fly Basic model is equipped with a Spektrum 2.4GHz DSMX^{^Â¬} receiver featuring AS3X+ (Artificial Stabilization-3-aXis+) technology that works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence. The result is a heightened sense of stability and precision that makes you feel like you're flying a much larger, expertly tuned aircraft.

If this is your first model of its type, or you want an extra margin of safety while familiarizing yourself with the airplane, you can enable the optional-use SAFE^{^Â¬} Select flight envelope protection technology built into the receiver. No programming is required. Simply change up the binding sequence as directed in the manual.

With SAFE Select enabled, you get:

Pitch and Bank Angle Limits

These envelope limits keep the airplane from rolling or pitching upside down. They also prevent excessive climb or dive angles.

Automatic Self-Leveling

The airplane instantly returns to and holds level flight when the sticks are released and in the centre position. It's also helpful for keeping the wings level during takeoffs/launches and landings.

Easy Switch Assignment-No Complex Programming Required

The simple procedure for assigning a transmitter switch to turn SAFE Select features on and off doesn't require any complex programming and takes just a few seconds.

If you don't want to enable the SAFE Select features, just bind the receiver normally and it will function like a standard AS3X+ receiver.

For orders above £120, we offer delivery to most mainland UK addresses. For orders under £120, we can still deliver to Northern Ireland and the outlying isles, as long as the item can be sent by Royal Mail, weighs less than 30kg, and fits within 61cm × 46cm × 46cm. Some highland and remote areas may carry an extra delivery charge as couriers often apply surcharges in these locations. If you live in one of these areas, feel free to contact us before ordering so we can confirm the delivery options and costs for you.
Most of our products include delivery in the price. If your order is under £90, a small delivery fee will apply but do not worry this will always be clearly shown at checkout before you complete your purchase.
Depending on what you choose at checkout, your order will usually be delivered either the next working day or within 2 working days. For next day delivery please place your order before 2:00pm. Orders are dispatched Monday to Friday only. Some items may take a little longer and if that is the case we will always show the expected delivery time on the product page.
If your order includes items with different dispatch times we will normally wait and send everything together once all items are in stock. If one of the items is going to take a while we will give you the choice either wait for everything to arrive or let us send the available items now and deliver the rest later. It is up to you.
