Technical Performance
The FCX24 Lemur represents a significant engineering achievement in 1/24 scale RC technology. Built around a high-performance climbing chassis specifically designed for serious rock crawling, the vehicle combines intelligent engineering with proven real-world concepts. The frame construction uses high-strength nylon that weighs less than traditional welded metal and plastic hybrid designs whilst delivering superior rigidity and impact resistance. The mid-mounted power assembly — featuring a 130 brushed motor, integrated two-speed transmission, and transfer case — is positioned to achieve the lowest possible centre of gravity, a critical factor in maintaining traction and stability during extreme climbing. The two-speed transmission system automatically switches between low-speed climbing mode, which maximises torque output for extreme gradients and obstacle traversal, and high-speed mode for rapid acceleration across trails and open terrain. Portal axles dramatically increase ground clearance by positioning the differential above the wheel centreline, a technology adapted from full-scale rock crawlers that prevents chassis contact with rocks and obstacles. The four-link suspension geometry allows exceptional articulation and wheel travel, enabling the vehicle to maintain contact with terrain even over severe obstacles whilst maintaining overall chassis control. Weighing just 442 grams (battery not included), the lightweight construction enhances climbing efficiency and allows the vehicle to negotiate obstacles that would challenge heavier designs. The metal gear servo provides precise, durable steering control necessary for technical rock crawling, whilst the ABS frame and nylon roll cage structure withstand the impacts and stresses of serious off-road exploration. At 1/24 scale, the FCX24 Lemur delivers performance characteristics that rival vehicles several times its size, making it an exceptional choice for UK RC enthusiasts seeking serious climbing capability in a genuinely portable package.
