This is a pair of fully licensed BFGoodrich® Krawler T/A® KX 1.9" tyres, now available in the popular Class 1, 4.19" OD size that has become essential for competitive crawling and weekend bashers alike. Whether you're an experienced RC car UK competitor pushing your rig to its limits on challenging terrain, or a dedicated hobbyist looking to upgrade your rock crawling setup, these professionally engineered tyres deliver the extreme traction and authentic scale appearance that serious crawlers demand.
Pro-Line has earned its reputation as a trusted name in RC performance by working directly with full-size rock crawling enthusiasts and competitors to develop products that truly perform. The Krawler T/A® KX designation stands for "Key feature: eXtreme traction," and this purpose-built rock crawling tyre was developed through direct participation in competition, ensuring every element serves a functional purpose on the trail. The BFGoodrich® brand heritage carries real credibility into the RC world—these are the same design lineage as tyres used on many full-size rock crawling rigs, meaning you're not just getting a toy tyre, but a scaled version of genuine off-road engineering.
What sets these tyres apart in the competitive RC crawler market is the meticulous attention to both performance and scale detail. The realistic 4.19" OD size provides incredible scale performance in a small package, while the dimensions of 4.19" tall × 1.46" wide deliver the perfect balance between ultra-scale looks and genuine traction performance. Made in the USA since 1982, Pro-Line's commitment to quality manufacturing is evident in every aspect of these tyres, making them a must-have upgrade for any serious 1/10 scale rock crawler.
Key Features
- Fully Licensed BFGoodrich® Design — These tyres carry the authentic BFGoodrich® Krawler T/A® KX branding and design, meaning you're using the same tyre profile and technology developed for real-world rock crawling vehicles. This isn't just cosmetic authenticity; the design principles that make full-size Krawler T/A® tyres exceptional translators directly to improved traction and performance at 1/10 scale.
- Extra Deep Tread Design with Aggressive Block Pattern — The tyres feature an extra deep tread design combining deep, aggressive independent blocks with solid sidewall lugs. This sophisticated tread pattern maximises bite into loose rock and soil, providing superior grip compared to shallower tread designs and delivering the extreme traction needed to conquer challenging crawling terrain.
- Exacting Scale Detail Down to Tyre Warnings and Logos — Pro-Line has recreated the Krawler T/A® design with remarkable authenticity, including tyre warnings and T/A® sidewall tread logos that match the full-size specification. This level of detail demonstrates Pro-Line's commitment to scale realism and appeals to builders who value both performance and appearance on their RC crawler setups.
- Perfectly Sized for Balance of Scale Looks and Performance — At 4.19" tall × 1.46" wide, these tyres strike the ideal balance between ultra-scale appearance and functional performance. The sizing ensures your 1/10 scale crawler maintains authentic proportions whilst still delivering the ground clearance and traction needed for genuine rock crawling challenges.
- Soft White Foam Inserts Included for Maximum Traction — Each pair includes soft white foam inserts specifically formulated to work with the tyre compound and tread design. These foam inserts conform to irregular terrain, increasing the overall contact patch and enhancing traction on rocks, roots, and uneven surfaces—essential for successful rock crawling performance.
- Compatible with Front or Rear 1.9" Rock Crawling Wheels — These tyres fit standard 1.9" rock crawling wheels and work equally well in front or rear positions, giving you flexibility in your build configuration and the ability to rotate tyres for even wear across your crawler.
- Made in the USA Since 1982 — Pro-Line's American manufacturing heritage represents decades of experience in RC performance products. Manufacturing in the USA ensures consistent quality control and supports long-standing relationships with competitive crawlers and hobbyists worldwide.
Technical Performance
The Pro-Line BFG Krawler T/A® KX represents serious engineering applied to 1/10 scale rock crawling. The tyre construction combines the latest compound technology with the sophisticated tread design that has proven itself in competitive environments. The extra deep tread blocks work independently, meaning each block can conform to terrain individually rather than as a rigid unit, vastly improving the tyre's ability to find purchase on uneven, rocky surfaces. This is particularly important for rock crawling, where maintaining contact with irregular terrain directly translates to success on technical courses. The solid sidewall lugs provide additional bite when the tyre walls contact rock surfaces, a common occurrence in extreme crawling situations where tyres regularly interact with obstacles beyond just the tread area. The soft white foam inserts supplied are specifically matched to the tyre compound and dimensions, providing the optimal combination of cushioning and conformity. These inserts absorb impact when rolling over rocks and roots, reducing deflection and maintaining consistent contact with the terrain. The 4.19" overall diameter places these tyres in the Class 1 category, a popular size in the UK RC crawler community that offers excellent scale appearance without sacrificing practical ground clearance or performance. The 1.46" width provides adequate support and load distribution whilst maintaining authentic proportions. For crawlers using standard 1.9" beadlock wheels, these tyres mount securely and reliably, and the tread pattern has been proven effective across the range of terrain types UK crawlers encounter, from loose soil and gravel to challenging rocky outcrops.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between Class 1 and Class 0 rock crawler tyres? — Class 1 tyres like these Krawler T/A® KX models feature a larger 4.19" OD, providing better ground clearance and more aggressive tread patterns optimised for rocky terrain. Class 0 tyres are smaller at 1.55" and designed for tighter, more technical courses. Class 1 is ideal for most UK crawlers tackling natural terrain and competition courses with varied obstacles.
- Are these tyres suitable for beginners in rock crawling? — Absolutely. Whilst these are premium, performance-oriented tyres, they work with any standard 1.9" wheel setup. If you're new to RC crawling in the UK and investing in quality components, starting with proven tyres like the Krawler T/A® KX means you're not limiting your performance whilst you develop your driving skills. The genuine traction and reliability actually make learning easier.
- What wheels do these tyres fit? — These tyres fit any standard 1.9" rock crawling wheel, including beadlock wheels commonly used on competitive crawlers. They can be mounted on either front or rear positions, giving you flexibility in your setup and allowing you to run matching tyres across your entire crawler.
- How do the foam inserts affect performance? — The soft white foam inserts work with the tyre compound to maximise traction and conformity to terrain. They absorb impacts when rolling over rocks and roots, maintain tyre shape under load, and increase overall contact with irregular surfaces. Without quality inserts, tyre performance drops significantly, so the inclusion of Pro-Line's matched inserts is a real performance advantage.
- Are these tyres licensed by BFGoodrich®? — Yes, Pro-Line has secured a full license from BFGoodrich® to produce these 1/10 scale versions. The design authentically recreates the full-size Krawler T/A® KX tyre, including all branding, warnings, and the distinctive tread pattern. This means you're not just getting the look of a famous tyre, but the engineering principles that make it work.
- Can I use these for non-rock-crawling applications? — Whilst these tyres are specifically engineered for rock crawling, the aggressive tread and extreme traction they provide make them suitable for any loose-surface or technical terrain crawling. Trail running through muddy or rocky areas would certainly benefit from these tyres' performance characteristics.
- What makes Pro-Line tyres different from other brands? — Pro-Line's advantage comes from their direct involvement with competitive crawlers and their licensed designs from real-world vehicles. Manufacturing in the USA since 1982 demonstrates their commitment to quality and consistency. The attention to detail—from the tread pattern engineering to the authentic sidewall graphics—shows that Pro-Line designs products for crawlers who care about both performance and authenticity.
