Overview

Pro-Line is proud to introduce the 1946 Dodge Power Wagon clear body for scale crawlers, one of the most iconic vehicles ever to grace the RC crawling scene. This First Generation Power Wagon body style comes as two separate pieces – cab and bed – delivering an ultra-realistic look that stays true to the original military-inspired 4x4 truck that civilians could purchase after World War II. Whether you're a seasoned RC crawler enthusiast or just discovering the world of scale crawling, this 1/10 scale body offers an authentic vintage truck experience that will turn heads at any RC gathering in the UK.

The 1946 Dodge Power Wagon features a huge, menacing flat front grille with large flat panel style fender flares, just like the real truck that inspired it. The body includes textured rocker panels, realistic undercuts and separate round headlights designed to allow for real working LED lights, all of which complete the authentic look of this iconic truck. This is an unpainted clear polycarbonate body, meaning you have complete creative freedom to paint and customise it to match your vision. Whether you want to restore it in authentic 1940s colours or create a custom show-stopping crawler, this body provides the perfect canvas.

Manufactured in the USA since 1982, Pro-Line Racing has built an outstanding reputation for delivering high-quality RC bodies that combine scale accuracy with practical engineering. The 1946 Dodge Power Wagon clear body is designed specifically for 12.3-inch (313mm) wheelbase crawlers, making it compatible with popular platforms like the Axial SCX10 and other established scale crawler chassis. This is an essential component for any RC crawler enthusiast looking to upgrade their setup with authentic, American-made quality.

Key Features

  • Realistic 1946 Power Wagon Scale Crawler Body — This body faithfully reproduces the iconic styling of the first-generation Dodge Power Wagon, capturing the distinctive character lines, proportions and design elements that made the original such an important vehicle in automotive history. Every detail has been carefully engineered to deliver authentic scale representation.
  • Separate Cab and Bed Construction for Ultra-Realism — Rather than being moulded as a single piece, the cab and bed are supplied separately, allowing you to achieve a genuinely realistic appearance that mirrors the full-size truck's construction. This two-piece design enhances the visual authenticity and gives your completed crawler a far more impressive presence.
  • Menacing Front Grille and Large Fender Flares — The body features a huge, imposing flat front grille that immediately captures the aggressive stance of the original 1946 Power Wagon, whilst the large flat panel style fender flares add substantial visual width and presence to the body. These design elements ensure your crawler will look commanding whether displayed on a shelf or tackled on the trail.
  • Separate Round Headlights Allow for Working LED Lights — The distinct round headlights are designed as separate components, allowing you to install real working LED lights that bring genuine illumination and authentic scale detail to your finished build. This feature elevates the visual impact significantly, especially in low-light conditions or evening crawling sessions.
  • Paint-Then-Peel Overspray Film Built-In — This innovative Pro-Line feature includes a protective overspray film that allows you to mask and paint your body with confidence, knowing that excess paint can be cleanly peeled away from windows, light buckets and other detailed areas. This saves considerable time and delivers professional results even for builders with limited painting experience.
  • Made with Crystal Clear Polycarbonate — The body is manufactured from premium crystal clear polycarbonate material, providing excellent durability, impact resistance and optical clarity. This material is specifically chosen for RC body applications because it withstands the rigours of off-road crawling whilst remaining light enough not to compromise chassis performance.
  • Made in the USA, Since 1982 — Pro-Line Racing has been manufacturing world-class RC bodies in the United States for over four decades. This heritage of American manufacturing expertise and quality control ensures you receive a body that meets the exacting standards demanded by serious RC enthusiasts and professional competitors alike.
  • Textured Rocker Panels and Realistic Undercuts — Beyond the obvious visual elements, the body includes carefully sculpted textured rocker panels and realistic undercuts that add depth, dimension and authentic character to the overall appearance. These subtle details demonstrate Pro-Line's commitment to scale accuracy and finishing quality.

Technical Performance

This 1/10 scale clear body is engineered for optimal performance on 12.3-inch (313mm) wheelbase crawlers, making it an ideal upgrade for popular platforms such as the Axial SCX10 and other comparable scale crawler chassis. The body measures 18.6 inches (472mm) in total length, 5.8 inches (146mm) at the door width, 8.3 inches (211mm) at the fenders, and 5.8 inches (146mm) in height, with the cab alone measuring 10.3 inches (260mm) in length. These dimensions have been meticulously calculated to deliver proper weight distribution and visual balance on a standard wheelbase crawler platform. The crystal clear polycarbonate construction provides excellent strength-to-weight characteristics, ensuring minimal impact on your chassis's handling characteristics whilst delivering maximum durability for serious crawling applications. The two-piece cab and bed construction, combined with the precision-moulded details including separate round headlights, textured rocker panels and realistic undercuts, represents the pinnacle of modern RC scale body engineering. The included paint-then-peel overspray film eliminates the frustration of masking detailed areas, allowing even novice builders to achieve professional paint finishes. Included hardware comprises eight screws and eight nuts, providing secure mounting to your chassis whilst allowing easy removal and adjustment if needed. The window masks are pre-fitted to protect glazed areas during painting, and the comprehensive decal sheet allows you to add authentic factory markings and details to complete your build.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What chassis is this body compatible with? — The Pro-Line 1946 Dodge Power Wagon clear body is designed for any 1/10 scale crawler with a 12.3-inch (313mm) wheelbase, making it fully compatible with the Axial SCX10 and many other established scale crawler platforms currently popular in the UK RC market. If your chassis has a 12.3-inch wheelbase, this body will fit properly.
  • Is this body suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. Whilst this is an unpainted body requiring painting and assembly, the two-piece construction and included paint-then-peel overspray film make the building process far more forgiving than traditional RC body assembly. The included window masks and decal sheet simplify customisation, and complete building takes only a few hours. Any RC enthusiast with basic modelling skills can achieve excellent results.
  • Does this include a chassis? — No, this is a body shell only. You will need to source a compatible 1/10 scale crawler chassis with a 12.3-inch (313mm) wheelbase separately. No vehicle electronics, motors or running gear are included with this product – it is purely the cosmetic body shell.
  • What paint should I use? — Pro-Line bodies are designed for use with polycarbonate-specific paint formulations. Dedicated RC polycarbonate paints are recommended to ensure proper adhesion, durability and finish quality. Always follow the paint manufacturer's instructions regarding primer, application techniques and curing times.
  • Can I install real LED lights in the headlights? — Yes, that is one of the key design features. The separate round headlights are specifically engineered to accommodate functioning LED lights, allowing you to create authentic scale lighting effects. You will need to source LED units compatible with your chassis electronics and carefully route wiring through the body.
  • How long does it take to assemble and paint? — Building time depends on your painting skill and desired detail level, but most builders complete a finished crawler body within 4-8 hours including painting, decal application and final assembly to the chassis. The paint-then-peel overspray film significantly reduces masking time compared to traditional methods.
  • What makes the Pro-Line body different from competitors? — Pro-Line has been manufacturing RC bodies in the USA since 1982, and their bodies are recognised for exceptional scale accuracy, durable polycarbonate construction, thoughtful engineering features like paint-then-peel overspray film, and authorised licensing partnerships with original manufacturers like Dodge/FCA. The separate cab and bed construction, combined with detailed undercuts and textured panels, sets this body apart from simpler alternatives.
  • Is the body durable for serious crawling? — The crystal clear polycarbonate material is specifically formulated for RC body applications and provides excellent impact resistance and durability. Whilst polycarbonate bodies can crack or shatter under extreme impacts, the material is far more repairable than painted composite bodies, and replacement bodies are affordable compared to other RC upgrades.
