Overview

The Team Losi Racing Shock Oil 6-Pack is an essential maintenance product for RC enthusiasts who demand precision performance from their remote control vehicles. This comprehensive set provides six different viscosity grades in convenient 2oz bottles, allowing you to fine-tune your RC car's suspension characteristics for optimal handling across various track conditions and driving styles. Whether you're competing in sanctioned RC racing events, enjoying weekend bashing sessions, or simply maintaining your collection of quality RC buggies and trucks, having the correct shock oil viscosity is absolutely critical to achieving the setup you need for peak performance.

Team Losi Racing is recognised as one of the leading manufacturers of high-performance RC racing vehicles and maintenance products in the world, trusted by professional competitors and enthusiastic hobbyists alike throughout the UK and beyond. The brand's reputation for engineering excellence extends to their lubricant range, where precision formulation ensures your shocks perform with consistency and reliability. This 6-pack shock oil set represents outstanding value for anyone serious about RC racing, providing the flexibility to experiment with different dampening rates and find the exact setup that suits your driving technique and local track characteristics.

The inclusion of six distinct viscosity grades—17.5, 22.5, 27.5, 32.5, 37.5, and 42.5—means you'll have comprehensive coverage across the dampening spectrum. This versatility makes the set ideal for both experienced RC car UK competitors looking to dial in their suspension for competition and newcomers to the hobby who want to understand how shock oil viscosity affects vehicle behaviour. Each 2oz bottle provides sufficient quantity for filling and refilling shocks during your tuning sessions.

Key Features

  • Six viscosity grades in one package — This set includes shock oils at 17.5, 22.5, 27.5, 32.5, 37.5, and 42.5 weight ratings, giving you complete flexibility to adjust your suspension dampening characteristics without needing to purchase multiple individual bottles from different sources.
  • Convenient 2oz bottle size — Each bottle contains 2oz of precisely formulated shock oil, making them portable, easy to store, and ideal for transporting to the track or racing events without taking up excessive space in your pit box or maintenance kit.
  • Professional-grade formulation — Team Losi Racing's shock oils are engineered to exacting standards to ensure consistent viscosity, optimal flow characteristics, and reliable performance across temperature variations that you might encounter during extended racing sessions or different seasons throughout the UK.
  • Comprehensive suspension tuning capability — By having access to all six viscosity grades, you can methodically test how shock oil weight affects your RC buggy's cornering, acceleration, braking, and overall stability, allowing you to discover the perfect balance for your specific vehicle setup and driving preferences.
  • Compatible with multiple Team Losi Racing models — This shock oil set is specified as an optional part for several popular Losi vehicles including the 1/10 22 4.0 2WD Buggy, the 1/10 22T 4.0 Stadium Truck, and the 1/8 8IGHT-T 4.0 Truggy, making it an excellent choice for anyone with multiple Losi vehicles in their collection.

Technical Performance

Shock oil viscosity is one of the most effective and adjustable parameters in RC suspension tuning, directly influencing how quickly your shocks compress and extend during driving. Lighter viscosity oils (like 17.5) allow shocks to move more freely, resulting in softer suspension behaviour that can be advantageous on rough, bumpy tracks where compliance is valuable, though it may sacrifice responsiveness on smooth surfaces. Heavier viscosity oils (like 42.5) provide stiffer dampening that increases suspension stiffness, improving cornering response and body control but potentially making the ride harsher over track imperfections. Team Losi Racing's shock oils are formulated to maintain stable viscosity across the temperature ranges you'll encounter during typical RC racing sessions, ensuring that your suspension tuning remains predictable whether you're racing in spring, summer, or autumn conditions across the UK. The 2oz bottle format allows precision filling without waste, and each grade has been selected to provide meaningful differences in performance characteristics when switching between viscosities. Whether you're running a ready to run RC car, a competition-grade race kit, or an older classic Losi vehicle still performing admirably in club racing, these shock oils represent the quality and consistency you need to achieve championship-level setup precision.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What viscosity shock oil should I use for my Team Losi Racing RC buggy? — The correct viscosity depends on your specific vehicle, track conditions, and driving style. Lighter oils (17.5-22.5) suit rough, bumpy tracks and provide a softer, more compliant ride. Medium viscosities (27.5-32.5) work well for general-purpose racing with balanced characteristics. Heavier oils (37.5-42.5) provide increased stiffness and body control beneficial for smooth tracks and aggressive driving. The best approach is to start with a medium viscosity and systematically test lighter and heavier oils to discover what feels best to you.
  • How often should I change my RC shock oil? — Shock oil can become contaminated with dust and debris over time, especially if you're running your RC car outdoors or on dusty tracks. Many racers change their shock oil every few months of regular use, or immediately if they notice performance changes or evidence of contamination inside the shock bodies. Using this 6-pack allows you to refill shocks as needed during your tuning and maintenance routine.
  • Can I mix different viscosity grades of shock oil? — While it's technically possible to blend different viscosities, most competitive racers avoid this practice as it makes precise tuning impossible. Instead, use this 6-pack by completely emptying and refilling shocks with a single viscosity grade to ensure consistent, predictable performance characteristics across your vehicle's suspension.
  • Is this shock oil compatible with my Losi RC truck? — Team Losi Racing Shock Oil is specifically designed for Losi vehicles and is listed as an optional part for multiple models including the TLR03013 (1/10 22 4.0 2WD Buggy), TLR03014 (1/10 22 4.0 SR), TLR03015 (1/10 22T 4.0 Stadium Truck), and TLR04005 (1/8 8IGHT-T 4.0 Truggy). If you own any current-generation Team Losi Racing competition vehicles, this oil set will be compatible.
  • What tools do I need to change shock oil in my RC car? — You'll need a shock filling station or shock service tool (commonly available separately), along with the shock oil itself. Some RC enthusiasts also use precision syringes or small funnels. The specific tools required depend on your shock design, so consult your vehicle's manual for detailed instructions on filling procedure.
