Overview

The BLH Aluminum Flybarless Head Block Set Z-BLH4322 is a premium upgrade component designed for the Blade 450 X, 330X, and 330S RC helicopters. This aluminium head block assembly represents a significant enhancement over standard composite alternatives, offering superior durability and precision engineering for pilots who demand the best performance from their flybarless helicopter systems. Whether you're an experienced RC helicopter enthusiast looking to upgrade your Blade 450 X or seeking to optimise the performance of your 330X or 330S platform, this professional-grade component delivers the reliability and structural integrity that serious fliers expect.

Manufactured to exacting standards, the BLH Aluminum Flybarless Head Block Set combines lightweight yet robust aluminium construction with the precision tolerances required for smooth, responsive helicopter flight dynamics. The flybarless head block is a critical component in the helicopter's swashplate assembly, directly influencing main rotor control authority, cyclic responsiveness, and overall flight stability. By upgrading to this aluminium version, you're investing in a component that will enhance your helicopter's performance characteristics whilst providing improved longevity compared to standard plastic alternatives. This is the kind of upgrade that experienced RC helicopter pilots in the UK and beyond choose when they want their Blade 450 X or smaller Blade 330 variants to perform at their absolute best.

RC Model Shop stocks this genuine Blade component as part of our comprehensive range of flybarless helicopter parts and upgrades. We understand that serious RC helicopter enthusiasts need access to authentic, high-quality spares and upgrades, and the BLH4322 represents exactly the kind of precision engineering that defines modern flybarless helicopter systems. Whether you're repairing a damaged head block or performing a planned upgrade to improve your helicopter's characteristics, this aluminium flybarless head block set is an essential addition to any serious pilot's spare parts collection.

Key Features

  • Aluminium Construction — Machined from quality aluminium material, this head block offers superior strength-to-weight ratio compared to composite alternatives, ensuring reliable performance whilst maintaining the lightweight characteristics essential for responsive helicopter flight dynamics.
  • Flybarless Design Compatibility — Engineered specifically for flybarless head block applications, this component integrates seamlessly with the flybarless control system on your Blade 450 X, 330X, or 330S, maintaining precise tolerances required for gyro stability and cyclic control authority.
  • Multi-Model Compatibility — Designed to fit three different Blade helicopter platforms (450 X, 330X, and 330S), this set provides versatility for operators who fly multiple aircraft or want to standardise their spare parts inventory across different Blade models.
  • Precision Engineering — Manufactured to exact specifications with tight tolerances, ensuring that swashplate geometry, pitch control linkages, and cyclic response remain perfectly calibrated for smooth, predictable helicopter handling characteristics.
  • Enhanced Durability — Aluminium construction provides improved impact resistance and longevity compared to plastic alternatives, making this an excellent choice for pilots who perform regular training flights or aggressive flight manoeuvres.
  • Direct Replacement Component — This is a genuine Blade OEM part designed as a direct replacement for the standard flybarless head block, ensuring fitment and compatibility without modification or adaptation.

Technical Performance

The BLH Aluminum Flybarless Head Block Set represents a precision-engineered upgrade for Blade's compact flybarless helicopter platforms. The aluminium construction provides significantly greater structural rigidity than composite alternatives, reducing flex and micro-movement in the swashplate assembly that can introduce unwanted oscillation or control lag into the cyclic response. This increased stiffness translates directly into more responsive pitch and roll control, particularly valuable when performing aggressive manoeuvres or flying in gusty conditions where input authority becomes critical. The flybarless head block is the interface between the swashplate control mechanism and the main rotor blades, making precision in this component absolutely essential to overall helicopter performance. Engineers at Blade have optimised the geometry of this aluminium version to work in perfect harmony with the 450 X, 330X, and 330S flybarless systems, including all associated gyro algorithms, mixing calculations, and gain structures that depend on precise swashplate geometry. The material choice reflects a commitment to durability—aluminium resists fatigue cracking that can develop in plastic components subjected to repeated cyclic loading during extended flight sessions or high-energy manoeuvres. This makes the Z-BLH4322 particularly valuable for pilots who put significant flight hours on their helicopters or regularly perform aerobatic routines that demand maximum control precision and mechanical reliability.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the BLH4322 Aluminum Flybarless Head Block Set compatible with my Blade 450 X? — Yes, this component is specifically engineered for the Blade 450 X and is also compatible with the Blade 330X and 330S helicopter platforms. It serves as a direct replacement for the standard flybarless head block and integrates seamlessly with these models' existing control systems and gyro electronics.
  • What are the advantages of upgrading to aluminium from composite? — Aluminium construction offers superior rigidity, impact resistance, and durability compared to composite plastic alternatives. This results in more responsive cyclic control, reduced swashplate flex, and improved longevity. The increased stiffness helps maintain precise swashplate geometry under stress, which is particularly valuable for aggressive flying or extended flight sessions.
  • Will this upgrade improve my helicopter's flight characteristics? — Yes, upgrading to the aluminium flybarless head block can noticeably improve control responsiveness and stability. The increased structural rigidity reduces unwanted flex in the swashplate assembly, leading to more precise pitch and roll control, particularly valuable when performing aerobatic manoeuvres or flying in challenging wind conditions.
  • Is this a genuine Blade component? — Yes, the Z-BLH4322 is an authentic Blade OEM (original equipment manufacturer) part, ensuring perfect compatibility and reliability. Purchasing genuine Blade components guarantees correct fitment and performance characteristics that work with all associated systems including the flybarless gyro and servo electronics.
  • Can I fit this myself or do I need professional help? — The installation requires disassembly of the helicopter's swashplate assembly and understanding of flybarless helicopter mechanics. Whilst experienced RC helicopter enthusiasts can perform the installation, we recommend consulting your Blade helicopter's manual or seeking guidance from experienced RC helicopter mechanics if you're unfamiliar with this procedure. RC Model Shop's knowledgeable team is happy to provide advice on compatibility and installation questions.
  • What should I do with my old head block? — The standard composite head block can be retained as a spare or backup. Some pilots keep older components as backups for field repairs or use them to maintain backup aircraft setups. Alternatively, they may be recycled through appropriate waste management channels.
