Overview
The ARRMA Aluminium Chassis in Long Wheelbase configuration is a precision-engineered replacement chassis designed for RC enthusiasts who demand quality and performance. Whether you're upgrading your existing ARRMA model or building a custom RC car setup in the UK, this lightweight aluminium chassis delivers the perfect balance of strength and handling characteristics. As a dedicated RC car UK specialist, we recognise that the chassis is the foundation of your RC vehicle's performance, and this ARRMA component is engineered to provide reliable, consistent handling on any terrain.
This Long Wheelbase (LWB) chassis is ideal for those looking to improve their RC model's geometry and stability. The extended wheelbase configuration provides enhanced straight-line tracking and superior weight distribution compared to shorter wheelbase alternatives, making it a popular choice amongst serious RC hobbyists and competitive drivers alike. The anodised black finish doesn't just look professional — it's built to last, offering increased durability and protection against wear and tear during intensive use.
ARRMA is recognised globally as a leader in performance RC vehicles, and their spare parts maintain the same engineering excellence that makes their ready to run RC models so popular. This chassis is precision-manufactured to exacting standards, ensuring that every mounting hole and structural element provides the reliability you need for trouble-free racing and bashing.
Key Features
- Precision Manufactured Aluminium Construction — The chassis is crafted from precision-engineered aluminium, which significantly reduces vehicle weight compared to steel alternatives whilst maintaining structural integrity and reliability. This weight reduction translates directly to improved acceleration, faster lap times, and better overall handling characteristics that RC enthusiasts demand.
- Anodised Black Finish — The anodised black coating provides not only a sleek, professional aesthetic that looks great on any RC model, but also delivers increased durability and corrosion resistance. This protective layer ensures your chassis will maintain its appearance and structural integrity through months of regular use and exposure to outdoor conditions.
- Precision Manufactured Hardware Mounting Holes — Every mounting hole is manufactured to tight tolerances, ensuring fast and easy servicing without the frustration of misaligned components. This precision engineering means you can remove and reinstall parts repeatedly without losing fit quality, making maintenance and tuning a straightforward process rather than a time-consuming hassle.
- Integrated Droop Setting Plates — The chassis features integrated droop setting plates that allow advanced tuning options in minutes without requiring additional components or complex tools. This feature is particularly valuable for competitive RC drivers who want to fine-tune suspension geometry for specific track conditions or driving styles.
- Long Wheelbase Configuration — The extended wheelbase design provides superior tracking stability, improved weight distribution, and enhanced handling characteristics across a variety of driving conditions. This geometry is preferred by many UK RC enthusiasts for both competitive racing and recreational bashing, offering a noticeable improvement in vehicle behaviour compared to standard wheelbase chassis.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA Aluminium Chassis LWB represents a significant upgrade pathway for RC car UK owners seeking to enhance their vehicle's performance. Built from precision-manufactured aluminium, this chassis delivers a tangible reduction in unsprung weight compared to traditional steel alternatives, directly improving acceleration response and handling precision. The long wheelbase configuration is engineered to provide superior straight-line stability whilst maintaining the manoeuvrability expected from modern RC vehicles. The integrated droop setting plates demonstrate ARRMA's commitment to allowing serious RC hobbyists the flexibility to adjust suspension geometry without requiring aftermarket components or specialised tools. With anodised black finish protecting the aluminium from corrosion and oxidation, this chassis is built to withstand the demands of regular use in varied UK weather conditions. The precision-engineered mounting holes ensure that hardware fittings remain consistent and reliable through repeated assembly cycles, eliminating the drift and degradation that can occur with lower-quality manufacturing processes. This component represents the foundation of reliable, consistent handling characteristics whether you're racing competitively or bashing casually.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the ARRMA Aluminium Chassis Long Wheelbase a direct replacement for my existing kit chassis? — Yes, this chassis is specifically designed as a replacement component for ARRMA kits. The precision-manufactured mounting holes ensure compatibility with standard ARRMA hardware and components. However, we recommend checking your specific model's documentation to confirm compatibility, as different ARRMA models may require different chassis variants.
- What are the benefits of aluminium over steel for RC chassis? — Aluminium offers several significant advantages: it is considerably lighter than steel, which directly improves your RC car's acceleration and handling response; it provides excellent strength-to-weight ratio for reliable performance under load; and the anodised coating offers superior corrosion resistance, particularly important for UK drivers who may encounter damp conditions. The weight reduction alone is a game-changer for RC vehicle performance, making this upgrade worthwhile for serious enthusiasts.
- What does the integrated droop setting do? — Droop setting refers to the angle at which the suspension sits at ride height. The integrated droop setting plates allow you to adjust this geometry to fine-tune how your vehicle handles different track conditions and driving styles. More droop typically increases grip and stability, whilst less droop can improve turning response. This feature lets competitive RC drivers optimise performance without purchasing additional aftermarket components.
- Will this Long Wheelbase chassis affect my RC car's handling compared to a standard wheelbase? — Yes, the extended wheelbase provides noticeable benefits: superior straight-line tracking and stability, improved weight distribution for more predictable handling, and better high-speed composure. Many UK RC racing drivers prefer LWB geometry for circuit racing and general track use, whilst some prefer shorter wheelbase for tighter technical courses. This longer configuration is ideal for those seeking stability and consistent performance.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — This is a replacement chassis component rather than a complete ready to run RC model, so it is intended for hobbyists with existing mechanical knowledge or those building up a complete vehicle. If you're new to the RC hobby, we recommend starting with a complete ARRMA ready to run model and upgrading to this chassis after you've gained experience with vehicle maintenance and setup.
