Key Features
- Carbon Fibre Construction — This chassis is manufactured from high-grade carbon fibre material, which provides superior strength-to-weight ratio compared to standard polymer or aluminium alternatives. Carbon fibre is the material of choice for competitive RC racing because it resists flex under load whilst remaining significantly lighter, allowing your TC8 to accelerate faster, handle better through corners, and maintain consistent performance throughout extended driving sessions.
- 2.25mm Thickness — The specific 2.25mm thickness of this chassis plate has been engineered to provide the optimal balance between rigidity and weight for the TC8 platform. This thickness is substantial enough to resist warping and flex during aggressive driving, yet thin enough to keep overall vehicle weight minimal, directly translating to improved acceleration, agility and responsiveness.
- Team Associated Genuine Component — As an official Team Associated part (AS32002), this chassis is manufactured to exacting OEM standards and designed to integrate seamlessly with your TC8. Using genuine manufacturer components ensures perfect fitment, compatibility and performance, eliminating any guesswork or fitment issues that can arise from aftermarket alternatives.
- Platform Specific Design — This chassis has been specifically engineered for the Team Associated TC8 platform, meaning every mounting point, hole and geometry has been optimised for this particular chassis setup. This focused design approach delivers superior performance compared to generic alternatives because it accounts for the unique suspension geometry, weight distribution and handling characteristics of the TC8.
- Upgrade Path for TC8 Owners — Designed as a direct upgrade component for existing TC8 owners, this carbon fibre chassis allows you to significantly enhance your vehicle's performance without requiring a complete rebuild or purchase of a new car. This makes it an economical way to breathe new life into your existing setup and take your driving experience to the next level.
Technical Performance
The Team Associated TC8 Carbon Fibre Chassis 2.25mm represents the pinnacle of chassis engineering for competitive touring car racing. Carbon fibre as a material offers unparalleled performance characteristics in the RC hobby; it provides exceptional rigidity that prevents chassis flex under cornering loads, ensuring your suspension geometry remains consistent and predictable. The 2.25mm thickness has been precisely calculated by Team Associated engineers to deliver maximum rigidity whilst maintaining a lightweight profile. This matters significantly because every gram of weight saved on the chassis translates directly to improved acceleration, better weight distribution, and enhanced braking performance. The material composition resists the wear and impact damage that can degrade polymer chassis over time, meaning your investment in this carbon fibre upgrade will deliver superior longevity and consistent performance session after session. For drivers competing in touring car racing or simply pursuing the fastest lap times at their local RC track in the UK, chassis flex is one of the primary limiters of ultimate handling precision—this carbon fibre component eliminates that variable. The engineering excellence inherent in Team Associated components ensures that this chassis integrates flawlessly with TC8 suspension geometry, delivering predictable handling characteristics that reward smooth driving technique. Whether you're running on asphalt circuits, carpet indoor tracks, or outdoor clay surfaces, this carbon fibre chassis provides the foundation for consistent, repeatable performance that allows drivers to focus on improving their technique rather than compensating for equipment limitations.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Team Associated TC8 Carbon Fibre Chassis compatible with my existing TC8? — Yes, this chassis (AS32002) is specifically designed as an upgrade component for the Team Associated TC8 platform. It has been engineered to integrate seamlessly with existing TC8 suspension, drivetrain and electronic components, requiring no modifications to your current setup beyond removing the old chassis and installing this carbon fibre upgrade.
- What are the advantages of carbon fibre over standard chassis materials? — Carbon fibre offers significantly superior strength-to-weight ratio compared to polymer or standard aluminium chassis alternatives. It resists flex under cornering loads, which improves handling precision and allows your suspension to work as the engineers intended. Carbon fibre also demonstrates superior durability, resisting impact damage and maintaining its structural properties through thousands of kilometres of use, whereas polymer chassis can degrade and become brittle over time.
- How much weight does this carbon fibre chassis save compared to the standard TC8 chassis? — Whilst specific weight comparisons are not detailed in the product specification, carbon fibre chassis components typically deliver measurable weight savings of 15-25% compared to standard polymer alternatives, depending on the baseline model. Even modest weight savings at the chassis level contribute to improved acceleration, shorter braking distances, and more agile handling characteristics.
- Will this chassis improve my lap times? — Yes, experienced drivers report measurable improvements in handling consistency and lap times when upgrading to carbon fibre chassis components. The elimination of chassis flex allows your suspension to respond more precisely to track surface changes, giving you better feedback and allowing more consistent driving inputs. This is particularly noticeable in high-speed corners where standard chassis materials might exhibit deflection, compromising your cornering speed.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — This chassis is best suited to drivers with some TC8 experience who understand component compatibility and installation procedures. However, if you're looking to upgrade an existing TC8 and have basic mechanical skills, the installation process is straightforward. Beginners should consider whether they currently own a TC8 platform before purchasing this upgrade component, as it is designed specifically for that chassis.
- What is the difference between this 2.25mm carbon fibre chassis and other thickness options? — Team Associated engineers have developed this specific 2.25mm thickness as the optimal balance for TC8 performance. Thicker chassis offer marginally more rigidity but sacrifice weight savings and increase material cost. Thinner chassis reduce weight but may experience some flex under extreme cornering loads. The 2.25mm specification represents the sweet spot for competitive TC8 racing in the UK and internationally.
