Bind-N-Fly Completion Level Advantage
Already own a Spektrum transmitter? Bind-N-Fly (BNF) aircraft make getting into the air quickly and with the best control experience possible easier than ever. They come out of the box with the power system, servos and a Spektrum 2.4GHz receiver installed so all you need to do is bind the receiver to a compatible transmitter, finish any final assembly and fly!
This Bind-N-Fly Basic model is equipped with a Spektrum 2.4GHz DSMX receiver featuring AS3X (Artificial Stabilization-3-aXis) technology that works behind the scenes to smooth out the effects of wind and turbulence so you enjoy a sense of stability and precision that makes it feel like you're flying a much larger, expertly tuned aircraft.
If this is your first model of its type, or you want an extra margin of safety while familiarizing yourself with the airplane, you can enable the optional-use SAFE Select flight envelope protection technology built into the receiver. No programming is required.
With SAFE Select enabled, you get:
Pitch and Bank Angle Limits
- These envelope limits keep the airplane from rolling or pitching upside down. They also prevent excessive climb or dive angles.
Automatic Self-Leveling
- The airplane instantly returns to and holds level flight when the sticks are released and in the center position. It's also helpful for keeping the wings level during takeoffs/launches and landings.
Easy Switch Assignment-No Complex Programming Required
- The simple procedure for assigning a transmitter switch to turn SAFE Select features on and off doesn't require any complex programming and takes just a few seconds. For UMX models like this one, SAFE Select is automatically assigned to channel 5 (Gear) so you can turn it on an off with any switch assigned to that channel (switch A by default on most Spektrum computer transmitters).

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the E-flite Ultrix 600mm suitable for RC flying beginners? — Yes, absolutely. Whilst the aircraft is capable of advanced 3D aerobatics, the optional-use SAFE Select flight envelope protection system makes it forgiving and stable for newer pilots. The AS3X gyroscopic stabilisation smooths out wind effects automatically, and the automatic self-leveling feature can be activated with a simple transmitter switch to regain straight-and-level flight instantly. The full factory assembly means you focus on learning to fly rather than building complexity. If you're completely new to RC aircraft, we recommend enabling SAFE Select during your initial flights to build confidence.
- What battery does the Ultrix 600mm require? — The aircraft is designed for 3S 11.1V LiPo batteries in the 800–850+mAh capacity range, which are extremely common and affordable at UK RC shops. The recommended batteries feature IC2 connectors; if you have a JST-connector battery, you'll need to purchase a suitable IC2–JST adapter separately (such as SPMXCA322). Larger capacity batteries up to around 1000mAh will fit, giving you flexibility to choose between shorter punchier flights or longer, more relaxed endurance sessions.
- What transmitter do I need for the Ultrix 600mm? — You need a full-range 5+ channel Spektrum DSMX or DSM2 compatible 2.4GHz transmitter. Compatible models include the DXS, DX6e, DX8e, DX6 G2/G3, DX8 G2, DX9, NX6, NX8, NX10, iX12, iX20 and others. If you already own a compatible Spektrum transmitter, simply bind the aircraft's receiver to your existing radio — that's the Bind-N-Fly advantage. The integrated receiver also provides real-time telemetry data to compatible Spektrum AirWare transmitters showing battery voltage and current.
- How does the Ultrix 600mm compare to the original UMX Ultrix? — The Ultrix 600mm is a scaled-up version offering several practical advantages: the larger 600mm wingspan makes the aircraft significantly easier to see in flight, it handles moderate wind considerably better, and it uses more commonly available 3S 800–850+mAh batteries instead of smaller capacity packs. The 600mm version also includes an optional-use fixed nose wheel for smooth-surface operations. Both models share the same innovative delta wing design and capability for sport, aerobatic and 3D flying, but the 600mm offers better visibility, durability and accessibility for most pilots.
- Can I perform 3D aerobatics with the Ultrix 600mm? — Yes, the aircraft is genuinely capable of aggressive 3D flying including harrier attitudes, flat spins, knife-edge flight, and other advanced manoeuvres. The dual brushless motor system with differential thrust control provides the yaw authority needed for these advanced flying styles, and the incredible power-to-weight ratio ensures unlimited vertical performance. The durable EPP construction means you can learn these skills without expensive repair costs when mistakes happen.
- What's the difference between flying with and without the nose wheel? — The included optional-use fixed nose wheel enables smooth-surface taxi, takeoff and landing operations on concrete or tarmac. Simply remove it if you prefer hand-launching from grass areas and landing back down on grass — this removes unnecessary weight and drag, improving vertical performance and maximum speed. Many pilots remove the wheel after the first few flights once they're comfortable with hand launching technique.
- How long does the assembly take out of the box? — Approximately less than one hour. The aircraft arrives 100% factory-assembled with all motors, servos, receiver and speed controllers already installed and tested. You'll simply need to bind the receiver to your transmitter, optionally install or remove the nose wheel as preferred, and you're ready to fly. No soldering, no motor installation, no servo configuration — just fly.
- Does the Ultrix 600mm have telemetry? — Yes. The integrated Spektrum receiver and control unit provides real-time telemetry data including flight battery voltage, current and other power system information to compatible Spektrum AirWare equipped transmitters. This capability helps you monitor battery health during flight and learn optimal battery management practices. Transmitters with AirWare telemetry support include the DX6e, DX8e, DX6 G2/G3, DX8 G2, DX9, NX6, NX8, NX10, iX12 and iX20.
- Is the Ultrix 600mm waterproof? — The EPP airframe is extremely durable and resistant to moisture, but the electronics (receiver, ESCs, servos) are not waterproof. Flying in rain or near water is not recommended. The aircraft is designed for dry-weather operation in fields, parks and RC flying sites.
- What's the flight time I can expect? — Flight time depends on your flying style and battery capacity. Smooth sport flying with an 800mAh battery typically yields 8–12 minutes; aggressive 3D flying with constant high-throttle manoeuvres reduces this to 6–8 minutes. Upgrading to an 850mAh or higher capacity battery extends endurance accordingly. The excellent efficiency of the brushless motor system means you get longer flight times than comparably powered fixed-wing designs.
