These protection strategies work together to enable the ESC to deliver powerful performance whilst significantly reducing the risk of damage under high-load conditions.
  • Adjustable BEC with Exceptional Output Current — The built-in BEC (Battery Eliminator Circuit) features a high output current of 25 amps and adjustable output voltage with three selectable levels (6.0V, 7.4V, and 8.4V), allowing you to effortlessly power a wide range of high-performance servos and high-voltage receiver components. This provides enhanced control flexibility and a more enjoyable overall experience compared to ESCs with fixed voltage outputs. You can match the BEC voltage precisely to your servo requirements without needing external regulators.
  • Capacitor Overheating Protection — Hobbywing has engineered dedicated capacitor overheating protection into this ESC to prevent damage caused by capacitor failure due to overloading, safeguarding the unit against complete failure. This protective feature is particularly valuable in competitive racing environments where peak loads are routine and thermal stress on components is significant.
  • Advanced Freewheeling Function — When enabled, the Freewheeling function delivers multiple performance benefits: the ESC temperature runs cooler during operation, the boat decelerates faster when you release the throttle, and cornering control and handling characteristics improve noticeably. When disabled, the boat decelerates more slowly when throttle is released. This programmable function allows you to optimise ESC behaviour to match your boat's performance profile and your personal driving preferences.
  • Built-in Data Logging for Performance Monitoring — By connecting the ESC to an optional OTA Bluetooth module, you can monitor real-time data including throttle position, voltage, temperature and speed via a mobile app. After your racing session, historical data can be viewed in the form of detailed curve graphs, providing a clear overview of the ESC and motor's performance and operating status. This performance analytics capability is invaluable for competitive tuning and identifying potential issues before they become failures.
  • AUX External Control Channel — The yellow signal wire connects to an unused receiver channel, enabling real-time parameter adjustment using your remote control. This feature allows you to adjust ESC parameters such as reverse thrust during operation, adding genuine convenience to parameter management without needing to reprogram between runs.
  • Slim Design for Easy Installation — At just 36mm wide, the SeaKing 120A V4 is significantly narrower than the previous SeaKing 120A V3 model (10% reduction), allowing for easier installation on narrow boats where space is at a premium. This design refinement means you can upgrade from older models without requiring extensive modifications to your boat's electronics bay.
  • 11 Programmable Parameters — The ESC offers 11 fully programmable parameters designed to meet competitive racing needs, offering a wider and more detailed range of settings than simpler controllers. This level of programmability means you can fine-tune virtually every aspect of ESC behaviour to optimise your boat's performance.
  • Firmware Update Support — The ESC supports firmware updates via Hobbywing's USB LINK software and the HW LINK mobile app, ensuring you always have access to the latest features and performance improvements. Updating requires either an LCD programming box or OTA module (sold separately), allowing you to keep your ESC current with future software enhancements.
