The titanium grey case distinguishes this G3X version from the black G3 model, and the differences go much deeper than aesthetics. The G3X is tuned for maximum responsiveness and is particularly favoured by stock class competitors who value direct power delivery over the smoother characteristics of modified class setups. With advanced data logging, extensive programmable parameters, and innovative features like freewheeling mode and disc brake control, the XR10 Pro G3X gives you the tools to extract maximum performance from your RC car.
Key Features
- Built-in Data Logging with 380 Minutes Storage — The XR10 Pro G3X features an integrated data recording module that stores up to 19 complete 20-minute sessions, providing crucial performance data including throttle position, voltage, current, temperature, motor RPM, and vehicle speed. This information helps you understand exactly what's happening during each run and identify areas for improvement without needing to keep an external OTA programmer connected during operation.
- Freewheeling Mode for Temperature Reduction — The advanced freewheeling function helps reduce operating temperature by approximately 15 degrees compared to the previous G2S generation, which is particularly beneficial during high-load racing applications. This technology improves overall consistency and reliability, allowing you to push harder without thermal throttling concerns. The RPM decrease rate setting offers adjustable deceleration when you lift off the throttle, giving enhanced control when cornering.
- Innovative Disc Brake Control — Using closed-loop brake control technology, the disc brake mode delivers consistent, linear braking force across all speeds. This revolutionary approach completely eliminates the problem of non-linear braking that traditional methods suffer from due to vehicle speed variations. You can fine-tune the brake bias feeling through brake force curvature adjustments, or fall back to traditional linear braking modes if preferred.
- Durable Frameless Fan Design — The frameless fan blades are constructed from specialised rigid materials that significantly increase durability compared to traditional PBT framed fans, which are easily damaged by debris impact. The detachable design allows you to remove the fan entirely if desired, further reducing the ESC's centre of gravity for improved vehicle balance.
- Smart Fan Start-Stop Technology — The intelligent fan control system keeps the fan off during periods when cooling isn't required, activating automatically only when the ESC temperature rises. This reduces power consumption and minimises unwanted noise during lower-demand running, whilst ensuring the ESC stays within safe operating temperature ranges. The function is fully adjustable through parameter settings.
- Dual Parameter Setting Modes — Choose between 24 basic parameters for simplified tuning or access all 44 advanced parameters for complete control. This flexible approach means you can start with straightforward adjustments to throttle, brake, and performance basics, then dive into advanced features like boost timing, turbo timing, drag brake frequency, and precise motor characterisation when you're ready.
- 44 Programmable Parameters — The extensive tuning menu includes throttle and brake curvature settings, freewheeling control, disc brake modes, drag brake force and rate, boost timing with activation thresholds, turbo timing with delay and rate control, motor pole configuration, gear ratio input, and tyre diameter settings. This level of customisation allows you to adapt the ESC perfectly to your specific vehicle setup and driving style.
- Optimised Low Centre of Gravity Design — The fan assembly features an improved low centre of gravity design with the overall ESC height reduced by 2mm compared to the G2S generation. The detachable fan assembly option allows you to further reduce height when cooling isn't needed, directly improving vehicle balance and handling characteristics.
- Optimised Wiring Layout — The ESC features an improved cable output arrangement specifically optimised for on-road racing applications whilst remaining fully compatible with off-road layouts. Included U-type connectors accommodate various wiring requirements including flat and diagonal soldering configurations, making installation cleaner and more flexible.
- Built-in Adjustable BEC — An integrated switch-mode BEC provides up to 10A peak output current with continuously adjustable voltage from 5.0V to 7.4V in 0.1V increments. This meets the power requirements of both high-torque and high-voltage servos without external power supplies, simplifying your vehicle wiring harness.
- OTA Programmer and LCD Pro Support — Programme and configure the ESC using either the wireless OTA Bluetooth programmer (allowing wireless tuning during testing) or the LCD Pro programme box. Both options support firmware updates and data review, giving you flexibility in how you interact with your ESC settings.
- G3X Variant Characteristics — This titanium grey G3X version features premium 12AWG wiring for enhanced power delivery compared to the standard 13AWG, delivering more aggressive throttle response ideal for stock class racing. Note that the G3X version does not include reverse voltage protection, so correct battery polarity connection is essential.
Technical Performance
The Hobbywing XERUN XR10 Pro G3X is engineered as a professional-grade 1/10 scale brushless ESC designed for touring cars, buggies, drift vehicles, and formula-style racing applications. This 160A continuous / 1200A peak current powerhouse is built to handle the demands of sensored and sensorless brushless motors including the XERUN V10 G4R, V10 G3, and Bandit G4 motors. The G3X variant's titanium grey case and premium 12AWG wiring (versus the standard 13AWG found on the black G3 model) delivers the more direct, responsive power delivery favoured in stock class competition racing where precision throttle control and immediate motor response are paramount. The ESC is compatible exclusively with 2S LiPo battery systems (7.4V nominal, up to 8.4V fully charged), providing the right voltage range for sensored brushless motors used in competitive 1/10 scale racing. With dimensions of 41.0mm × 33.6mm × 30.3mm (terminal board extends 6.0mm) and a weight of 101.5g including wires and connectors, the compact footprint is designed to fit into tight engine bays whilst the low centre of gravity contributes to improved vehicle handling. The switch-mode BEC technology efficiently converts the main battery voltage to servo power, with full adjustment capability from 5.0V to 7.4V allowing you to optimise servo voltage for your specific servo requirements. Build quality is exceptional throughout, with the durable frameless fan featuring specially selected rigid materials to withstand the rigours of competitive use and track debris, whilst the reverse polarity protection circuit on the main ESC (though not on the G3X's capacitor pack) provides an additional safety layer against wiring mistakes.
