Key Features
- High Reliability Heat Dissipation System — The internal power board is covered with Hobbywing's patented copper heat conducting confluence strip technology, which efficiently transfers internal heat to the integrated shell radiator. Combined with a high-speed heat dissipation fan, this creates a superior thermal management system that keeps the ESC operating in optimal condition even during intense racing sessions, preventing thermal throttling and ensuring consistent power delivery.
- Super BEC with Booster Circuitry — The integrated Battery Elimination Circuit (BEC) features booster circuitry capable of outputting up to 6A at 6V, allowing you to power multiple servos directly from the ESC without requiring a separate receiver battery. This streamlined approach simplifies wiring, reduces weight, and eliminates one potential point of failure in your racing setup.
- Built-in Electronic Switch & Capacitor Module — The weatherproof electronic switch features an impressive lifespan of over 50,000 on/off cycles and is housed in a completely waterproof, dust-proof and shock-resistant design. The integrated capacitor module saves valuable space and enables clean, organised wiring that looks professional and performs reliably under competitive conditions.
- Separate Programming/Fan Port — The dedicated PRG/FAN port allows you to connect an external cooling fan to maximise heat dissipation during high-demand racing, or connect a programmable device such as an LCD program box or WiFi module for wireless ESC configuration without leaving the control stand.
- Adjustable Throttle & Brake PWM Frequencies — Independent and fully adjustable throttle and brake PWM frequencies guarantee precise and accurate throttle response and braking control across all racing classes, particularly beneficial for Stock class competition where fine-tuned electronics control can make the difference between podium finishes and disappointment.
- Wireless Programming via WiFi — With Hobbywing's WiFi Express module and the HOBBYWING WiFi Link software installed on your iPhone or Android smartphone, you can remotely programme parameters, upgrade firmware, and check critical ESC data without ever leaving the racing pit area, keeping you competitive and focused.
- Innovative Data-Logging Function — The ESC records maximum ESC temperature, motor temperature, and RPM data in real-time, allowing you to download and analyse this information via an LCD program box. This performance data is invaluable for optimising your setup and understanding how your car responds to different track conditions.
- Five Ready-to-Use Performance Profiles — The firmware includes five pre-configured profiles tailored for different racing scenarios and competition classes, allowing you to switch between setups quickly without extensive reprogramming.
Technical Performance
The XeRun XR10 Pro 1S Heavy Duty is engineered from the ground up for competitive 1/12th scale touring car racing, where thermal stability, precise current control, and reliable operation under extreme load are non-negotiable. The ESC measures just 37.5 × 31 × 31mm and weighs only 46.7g, making it compact enough to fit in tight compartments whilst remaining robust enough to handle the punishment of serious racing. With a continuous current rating of 120A and peak capability reaching 830A, this controller matches the demanding requirements of high-performance sensored brushless motors used in modern 1/12th scale racing vehicles. The ESC accepts 1S LiPo batteries or 3–4 cell NiMH batteries, with recommended motor specifications of 3.0T or higher when operating in Zero-timing or Blinky mode with 1S LiPo power. The integrated 6V/3A BEC means you won't need external power supplies for your servo systems, streamlining the overall vehicle architecture and improving reliability. The 25 × 25 × 10mm cooling fan, powered directly by the ESC's 6V BEC, continuously circulates air across the internal power components to maintain optimal operating temperatures even during sustained high-speed runs or intense qualification heats. The engineering throughout reflects professional-grade build quality with premium components selected for durability and performance consistency—exactly what you need when you're chasing lap records and podium finishes in competitive 1/12th scale touring car racing across the UK and internationally.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the XeRun XR10 Pro 1S Heavy Duty suitable for beginners in RC car racing? — This ESC is not designed for beginners but rather for experienced racers and serious competitors. The five ready-to-use profiles make initial setup straightforward, but the advanced features like PWM frequency adjustment and data logging are aimed at racers who understand and want to optimise every aspect of their vehicle's performance. If you're new to brushless RC cars, you might benefit from a simpler ESC before stepping up to this professional-grade controller.
- What battery does this ESC require? — The XeRun XR10 Pro accepts either 1S LiPo batteries (3.7V nominal) or 3–4 cell NiMH batteries (3.6–4.8V). For 1S LiPo operation, Hobbywing recommends motors rated 3.0T or higher when using Zero-timing or Blinky mode. The continuous 120A rating with 830A peak capability means you need a quality battery with low internal resistance and sufficient discharge rating to match the ESC's performance envelope.
- Can I programme this ESC wirelessly without additional hardware? — The XeRun XR10 Pro 1S Heavy Duty can be programmed via the SET button on the ESC itself for basic adjustments, but wireless programming requires optional Hobbywing accessories: either the WiFi Express module (allowing smartphone control via the HOBBYWING WiFi Link app) or the OTA Programmer (Bluetooth-enabled, working range up to 5 metres). The Multifunction LCD Program Box is also supported for advanced configuration and data logging.
- What makes this ESC different from other 1/12th scale touring car controllers? — The XR10 Pro 1S Heavy Duty stands out through its patented copper heat conducting confluence strip technology, which delivers superior thermal management compared to conventional aluminium heat dissipation. The combination of high-speed active cooling, adjustable throttle and brake PWM frequencies, real-time data logging, and five pre-configured racing profiles gives competitive racers tools to fine-tune their setup for specific track conditions and racing classes. The robust 50,000+ cycle electronic switch built into a waterproof, dust-proof housing also provides reliability others struggle to match.
- Does the ESC need a separate receiver battery, or can the BEC power everything? — The Super BEC integrated into this ESC outputs 6V at up to 3A continuous, which is sufficient to power typical steering servos and your RC receiver without requiring a separate receiver battery pack. This simplifies your vehicle's electrical architecture, reduces overall weight, and improves reliability by eliminating another battery connection point.
- Is this ESC waterproof? — The XeRun XR10 Pro 1S Heavy Duty is not fully waterproof (rated as non-waterproof according to specifications), though it does feature a waterproof, dust-proof and shock-resistant electronic switch and capacitor module. The ESC itself should be mounted in a location that keeps it dry during normal operation. If you're racing in wet conditions or need maximum water protection, you may want to consider additional protective measures such as a waterproof ESC case.
- What warranty and support is available for this ESC? — Hobbywing provides firmware upgrade support and offers extensive documentation including manuals, application guidance, and real-world race setup sheets (such as the IFMAR 2018 World Championship 1/12th TC-Modified configuration guide).
