Overview
The Louise RC 1/10 LDXX Drift Kit (LNHA106) is a purpose-built, unassembled drift platform designed for serious RC enthusiasts who want to master the art of precision drifting. This is not a ready-to-run RC car; it is a dedicated drift kit that demands assembly, setup knowledge, and a genuine passion for the sport. Whether you are an experienced RC drifter looking to upgrade your setup or an intermediate hobbyist ready to take on the challenge of competitive drifting, the LDXX represents Louise RC's commitment to delivering authentic, performance-focused machinery for the UK RC car community.
Drifting requires a completely different approach to RC driving compared to traditional off-road or on-road racing. The LDXX has been engineered from the ground up with drift dynamics in mind, featuring a rear-wheel-drive layout, precision steering components, and a chassis geometry specifically optimised for controlled sliding and entry-exit line control. This is a Skill Level 4 vehicle, meaning it is intended for experienced builders and drivers who understand suspension tuning, weight distribution, and the nuanced driving technique required to get the most from a drift platform. If you are serious about competitive RC drifting in the UK, the Louise RC LDXX Drift Kit is a machine that commands respect and rewards precision.
Louise RC has built a strong reputation in the global RC drift community for creating platforms that balance performance with affordability. The LDXX continues this tradition, delivering professional-grade construction quality with a comprehensive feature set that rivals much more expensive alternatives available in the UK market. This kit form allows you to customise every aspect of your build, from motor selection to suspension tuning, giving you complete control over your final setup.
Key Features
- Full Bearing Construction — Every rotating component uses quality ball bearings rather than bushings, ensuring smooth operation, reduced friction, and extended component lifespan during intensive drift sessions and practice.
- Steel CVD Drive Shaft — The constant velocity drive shaft is manufactured from hardened steel, providing durability and precision power delivery to the rear wheels whilst maintaining alignment and reducing binding during aggressive drift manoeuvres.
- Composite Fibre Chassis — The main chassis, upper deck, and shock tower are constructed from reinforced composite fibre, offering the perfect balance between lightweight construction and rigidity needed for precise handling and consistent drift lines.
- Aluminium Motor Mount — Precision-machined aluminium motor mounting ensures your motor stays perfectly aligned and secured, critical for maintaining consistent drivetrain performance and power delivery throughout extended drift runs.
- Aluminium Spur Gear Hub — The centre spur gear hub is machined from aluminium, reducing rotating mass and improving throttle response whilst maintaining absolute precision in gear engagement for smooth power transmission.
- Aluminium Shock Absorbers — Machined aluminium shock bodies provide superior heat dissipation and structural rigidity, essential for maintaining consistent suspension performance during high-intensity drift competition and repeated high-speed cornering.
- Aluminium Servo Horn — The servo horn is precision-machined from aluminium, offering excellent strength-to-weight ratio and ensuring your steering input remains crisp and responsive throughout every drift session.
- Aluminium Steering Blocks — These components are machined from quality aluminium, providing precision steering geometry and eliminating flex that would compromise your ability to modulate steering inputs with the precision required for competitive drifting.
- Aluminium Steering Unit — The complete steering assembly is constructed from aluminium, ensuring smooth, wear-resistant operation and maintaining perfect steering geometry even under the extreme cornering loads experienced during drifting.
- Aluminium Upper and Lower Arms — All suspension arms are machined from aluminium, providing excellent durability, precise geometry, and the lightweight construction necessary for responsive suspension movement and consistent handling characteristics.
- Ball Differential — The ball differential provides smooth, controllable power distribution to the rear wheels, allowing you to fine-tune traction characteristics and achieve the exact balance needed for your preferred drifting style and track conditions.
- Full Turnbuckle Suspension Adjustment — Complete turnbuckle suspension adjustment allows infinite fine-tuning of ride height, anti-squat, and suspension geometry, enabling you to dial in your setup perfectly for different track surfaces and driving conditions.
Technical Performance
The Louise RC LDXX Drift Kit represents a comprehensive, well-engineered platform built with materials and components specifically selected for drift performance. The 2WD rear-wheel-drive configuration is the international standard for RC drifting, providing the lightweight simplicity and rear-biased weight distribution essential for executing smooth, controlled drifts. The drivetrain features a 2.35 internal gear ratio (40/17 tooth configuration), which has been specifically chosen to provide the ideal balance between acceleration and top-end speed for on-road drifting applications. The wheelbase spans 254-258mm with a track width of 200mm, creating a compact, responsive platform with excellent steering sensitivity whilst maintaining lateral stability during sustained drift sequences. The unassembled nature of this kit means you have complete flexibility in motor selection and power source, allowing you to specify brushless or brushed motor options to match your competition class requirements and driving preferences. The composite fibre chassis construction keeps overall weight low whilst the strategic use of aluminium components in high-stress areas (motor mount, shock towers, suspension arms, and steering components) ensures durability without unnecessary weight penalty. This is not an out-of-the-box ready-to-run RC drift car; it is a serious platform that demands competent assembly, proper setup, and genuine understanding of suspension geometry and drift dynamics to unlock its full potential.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Louise RC LDXX Drift Kit suitable for beginners? — This is classified as a Skill Level 4 vehicle, making it unsuitable for absolute beginners. It is intended for experienced RC enthusiasts with prior building experience and genuine understanding of suspension setup and driving technique. If you are new to RC drifting, we recommend starting with a lower skill-level platform before progressing to the LDXX.
- What motor does the Louise RC LDXX Drift Kit require? — The LDXX is supplied without a motor, giving you complete flexibility to select either a brushless or brushed motor based on your competition class, budget, and performance preferences. For competitive RC drift racing in the UK, brushless motors in the 13.5T to 17.5T range are most common, though your choice should align with your local competition rules and the ESC you select.
- What battery does this RC drift kit need? — Because the motor is not included, battery requirements depend entirely on your motor selection. Most UK RC drift platforms operate on 2S or 3S LiPo batteries; however, this must be confirmed based on your chosen motor and ESC specifications. Consult your motor and ESC documentation to determine the correct voltage and capacity for your build.
- What is the difference between the Louise RC LDXX and other drift kits available in the UK? — The LDXX distinguishes itself through comprehensive use of precision-machined aluminium components, full bearing construction throughout, and a chassis geometry specifically optimised for drift dynamics. The balance between build quality and price point makes it competitive with premium platforms whilst offering the flexibility of a kit format that allows customisation of critical drivetrain components.
- Is assembly difficult? — Assembly requires mechanical skill, precision tools, and patience. Detailed instructions are included, but this is not recommended for builders without prior RC car assembly experience. If you are unsure about assembly, we recommend consulting an experienced RC technician or our team at RC Model Shop for guidance.
- What suspension tuning options does the LDXX offer? — The complete turnbuckle suspension system allows infinite adjustment of ride height, anti-squat geometry, and suspension stiffness. This level of adjustability is essential for dialling in your setup to match track conditions and your driving preferences, and it is one of the key advantages of choosing a kit platform.
