Once built, you'll have a genuinely competitive 1/10 scale touring car that's ready to perform on track.
Key Features
- Full Bearing Specification — Every rotating joint uses quality bearings rather than bushings, reducing friction and ensuring smooth, consistent performance during tight racing manoeuvres and extended running sessions. This engineering choice dramatically improves steering response and overall handling precision.
- CVD Drive Shaft — The constant velocity drive shaft design maintains consistent power delivery through the widest possible range of suspension articulation and steering angles. This means more predictable handling and better traction management in competitive racing conditions.
- Carbon Fibre Chassis, Upper Deck and Shock Tower — Carbon fibre components throughout the chassis provide exceptional rigidity and strength-to-weight ratio, critical for maintaining consistent handling characteristics during races. The material's inherent damping properties also help manage vibration and improve stability during fast cornering.
- Aluminium Motor Mount — The precision aluminium motor mount ensures perfect alignment and vibration isolation of your motor, critical for smooth, efficient power delivery and longevity of electrical components.
- Aluminium Servo Mount — A rigid servo mounting point keeps your steering servo precisely aligned and isolated from track vibration, ensuring responsive and accurate steering input throughout a race run.
- Aluminium Centre Drive Shaft — This lightweight yet rigid component transfers power efficiently from motor to transmission without flexing, maintaining direct connection between your throttle input and wheel torque.
- Aluminium Spur Gear Hub — Precision-machined aluminium construction ensures smooth gear engagement and long service life, even under the sustained acceleration and deceleration cycles of competitive touring car racing.
- Aluminium Shocks — Lightweight aluminium shock bodies provide excellent durability and heat dissipation whilst maintaining precise suspension geometry throughout the suspension's travel range. This allows you to tune suspension geometry and response to suit track conditions.
- Aluminium 12mm Hex Hub — Standard 12mm hex hubs provide excellent compatibility with a vast range of aftermarket wheels and tyres available for 1/10 touring cars, and the aluminium construction ensures reliable performance without excessive weight.
- Metal Gear Differential — A robust metal gear differential provides superior strength and tuning capability compared to plastic alternatives, allowing you to adjust locking characteristics to suit your racing style and track conditions.
- Full Turnbuckle Suspension Links — Complete turnbuckle suspension geometry allows infinitely adjustable suspension geometry and ride height, essential for competitive racing where chassis setup can be the difference between first and second place.
- 4WD Shaft Drive Transmission — The four-wheel-drive shaft-driven system provides maximum traction and stability on tarmac surfaces, with precise power distribution that rewards smooth, progressive throttle control typical of touring car racing.
Technical Performance
The Louise RC 1/10 LTX Touring Car Kit is engineered with a meticulous focus on racing performance and build quality. The chassis measures 258mm in wheelbase with 190mm track width, providing a balanced platform optimised for on-road touring car racing across a wide variety of track layouts. The 4WD shaft-drive system features a 2.47 internal ratio paired with a 4.56 gear ratio, delivering the sort of acceleration and top-end speed appropriate for competitive touring car racing. The 65mm tyre diameter ensures proper ride height and handling characteristics with standard 1/10 touring car tyres. The extensive use of aluminium throughout the drivetrain, suspension and structural components—combined with carbon fibre chassis, upper deck and shock tower—creates a platform that balances light weight with exceptional rigidity. This is a vehicle that genuinely benefits from quality components: your motor choice, ESC selection, servo and battery will all make a measurable difference to performance, which is exactly what you want in a kit designed for racers. The metal gear differential means you can adjust locking characteristics to suit everything from high-grip carpet tracks to lower-grip outdoor surfaces, and the full turnbuckle suspension allows unlimited geometry adjustment as you develop your tuning knowledge. Note that this kit requires a brushless motor, ESC, servo, receiver, transmitter and battery pack to complete—your choice of these components will directly influence the vehicle's performance characteristics.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Louise RC 1/10 LTX Touring Car Kit suitable for beginners? — This kit is classified as Skill Level 3, which means it requires intermediate to advanced model-building experience. Whilst enthusiastic beginners can certainly build it, you'll ideally have assembled at least one or two RC cars previously. The rewards are substantial—once built, you'll have a genuinely competitive touring car that teaches you valuable setup and tuning skills through racing experience.
- What motor and ESC should I use with this kit? — This kit does not include a motor or ESC, giving you complete freedom to choose components suited to your budget and performance goals. For touring car racing, most racers choose brushless systems in the 3000-4000KV range paired with 100-160A rated ESCs. Your local RC Model Shop team can recommend suitable combinations based on your intended use and track type.
- Is this a ready-to-run RC car or does it require building? — This is an un-assembled kit, meaning you'll need to build it from individual components. You'll also need to source and install a motor, ESC, servo, radio system and battery. This isn't a ready-to-run product, but rather an authentic racing platform for builders who enjoy the assembly process and want complete control over component selection.
- What batteries will work with this vehicle? — Battery compatibility depends entirely on your motor and ESC selection. Most racing setups use 2S or 3S LiPo batteries, though higher cell-count options exist. Once you've chosen your motor and ESC, battery requirements will be clearly defined in those component specifications.
- How does the 4WD shaft-drive system compare to belt-drive alternatives? — Shaft-drive systems provide direct, responsive power delivery with minimal maintenance compared to belt-driven alternatives. The CVD drive shafts on this kit ensure consistent power throughout suspension articulation, crucial for the precise handling touring cars demand.
- Can I upgrade components on this kit? — Yes. The modular design with standard 12mm hex hubs and turnbuckle suspension means countless aftermarket upgrades are available. Many racers start with the kit as-designed, then upgrade components based on track experience and personal preference.
