Overview

The Etronix 60cm 22AWG Futaba Twisted Y Extension Wire (ET0755) is an essential accessory for any serious RC enthusiast in the UK looking to expand their radio control installations. This practical Y extension lead is designed to provide extra reach and flexibility in your model's wiring whilst helping to keep the internal layout tidy and organised. Whether you're upgrading your RC car, RC truck, or any other radio control vehicle, this twisted extension wire offers a straightforward and reliable solution for common RC wiring tasks that arise during setup and customisation.

Built by Etronix, a recognised brand in the RC hobby community, the ET0755 represents a quality accessory that bridges the gap between single-channel outputs and multiple servo positions or devices. This Y harness is particularly useful when one output needs to be shared across two locations in your layout, making it an invaluable addition to your spares box. The 60cm length provides substantial reach without excessive cable bulk, whilst the twisted 22 AWG conductors ensure reliable signal transmission and reduced interference—critical factors for maintaining smooth, responsive control of your RC model.

If you're a weekend basher, a competition racer, or someone just discovering the world of RC for the first time, having quality extension leads on hand means you can adapt quickly to different setup requirements. The Etronix 60cm Futaba Y Extension Wire is compatible with Futaba-style servo connections, making it compatible with a huge range of popular RC equipment available to UK hobbyists. This is the kind of practical, no-nonsense accessory that separates a well-organised RC workshop from a tangled mess of wires.

Key Features

  • 60cm Overall Length — The 60 centimetre length provides excellent reach for connecting servos and devices within your RC model without requiring excessive cable routing, whilst remaining manageable enough to fit neatly inside most standard RC chassis designs and bodies.
  • 22 AWG Twisted Conductors — The 22 American Wire Gauge twisted cable construction delivers reliable signal integrity and reduces electromagnetic interference, ensuring your servo commands are transmitted cleanly and your model responds precisely to your inputs every time.
  • Y Extension Harness Design — This Y configuration allows you to split a single channel output to control two separate devices or servo positions simultaneously, making it perfect for complex installations where multiple components need to work in tandem from one receiver output.
  • Futaba-Style Connectors — Compatible with Futaba-style servo connections, this extension wire works seamlessly with the majority of RC equipment available to UK hobbyists, ensuring broad compatibility across different manufacturers and model types.
  • Twisted Cable Construction — The twisted design of the conductors helps minimise noise and cross-talk between signal lines, which is especially important in high-interference environments or when running multiple servos and electronics in close proximity.
  • Straightforward Installation — Requiring no special tools or technical knowledge, this extension wire plugs directly into your existing servo leads and receiver outputs, making it accessible to hobbyists of all experience levels.
  • Compact and Practical — The reasonable cable length and tidy twisted construction mean this extension wire takes up minimal space in your spares box whilst remaining immediately ready for use whenever you need it.

Technical Performance

The Etronix 60cm 22AWG Futaba Twisted Y Extension Wire represents solid engineering principles applied to RC servo extension leads. The 22 AWG wire gauge is the industry standard for servo leads, providing an optimal balance between current-carrying capacity and flexibility for installation in confined spaces typical of RC model chassis. The twisted construction of the individual conductors is not merely aesthetic—it serves a genuine functional purpose by reducing loop areas between signal and return paths, which minimises susceptibility to electromagnetic interference from other on-board electronics such as brushless motors, electronic speed controllers, and digital servos. This is particularly important in modern RC vehicles where high-frequency switching power supplies can generate substantial electromagnetic noise. The 60 centimetre length is carefully selected to provide sufficient reach for most servo routing scenarios—from receiver to front steering servo, across the chassis width to dual servo installations, or from front to rear axle on larger models—whilst avoiding excessive cable slack that could catch on moving parts or create a rats nest of wiring inside your model. Built to Etronix's recognised standards for quality and reliability, this extension wire is manufactured to withstand the mechanical stresses of repeated use, servo load cycling, and the vibration inherent in high-performance RC operation. The connectors are designed to maintain consistent pressure and electrical contact through hundreds of connection and disconnection cycles, ensuring your installation remains reliable whether you're running casual weekend bashing sessions or competitive racing events across the UK.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this Y extension wire compatible with my RC servo setup? — The Etronix ET0755 features Futaba-style servo connections, which are by far the most common connector standard in the RC hobby. If your receiver outputs and servos use standard Futaba connectors, this extension wire will work perfectly. However, if you operate JR-standard equipment, Etronix also manufactures a 60cm 22AWG JR Twisted Y Extension Wire as an alternative, so you can choose the variant that matches your specific RC installation.
  • What is the difference between a standard extension wire and a Y extension wire? — A standard extension wire simply lengthens the connection between your receiver output and a single servo. A Y extension wire, like the ET0755, splits one receiver channel output to control two separate servos or devices simultaneously. This is invaluable for installations where you need dual servos working in parallel—for example, servo arrays for precise steering on crawlers, or dual throttle servos for advanced transmission systems. The Y configuration allows seamless parallel operation without requiring additional receiver channels.
  • Why is the twisted cable construction important? — The twisted design of the 22 AWG conductors serves a critical function in reducing electromagnetic interference and cross-talk between the signal and return paths. Modern RC models contain powerful brushless motors, fast-switching electronic speed controllers, and digital servos, all of which generate high-frequency electromagnetic noise. The twisted construction minimises the loop area created between the signal and ground conductors, dramatically reducing the antenna effect that would otherwise pick up this noise. This keeps your servo signals clean and ensures your RC car, truck, or other model responds precisely to your inputs without jitter or unwanted servo movement.
  • Will 60cm be long enough for my installation? — The 60 centimetre length is suitable for most RC model installations, providing excellent reach from the receiver to servos located anywhere in a typical chassis. However, if you need shorter or longer options, Etronix manufactures this Y extension wire in multiple lengths: 7cm for ultra-compact installations, 45cm for medium reach, and 90cm for larger models or complex routing scenarios. Measure your required cable path before ordering to ensure you select the ideal length for your specific application.
  • Can I use this extension wire with any brand of servo? — Yes, this extension wire works with any servo or device that accepts standard Futaba-style connectors. Futaba connectors are the industry standard across most major RC brands including Futaba themselves, Spektrum, Hobbywing, and many others. The only caveat is that some specialist equipment or older brands may use different connector standards such as JR-style plugs, for which Etronix manufactures dedicated alternatives.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — Absolutely. This extension wire requires zero technical knowledge to install—simply plug it into your receiver output on one end and your servo(s) into the female connectors on the Y harness. No soldering, crimping, or special tools are required. Beginners will find this extension wire straightforward to use and invaluable for expanding their RC setup possibilities.
  • What servos or devices can I connect to this extension wire? — The ET0755 can drive any device with a Futaba-style connector, including standard analogue servos, digital servos, coreless servos, waterproof servos, and various other RC electronics. The twisted 22 AWG conductors are rated for standard servo current loads, so it works perfectly with everything from micro servos drawing minimal current to large standard-sized servos with higher torque ratings. Just ensure the total current draw of both connected devices does not exceed the receiver output's capacity—this is rarely a concern in practice.
