Overview

The Carisma GT24B Spring (Soft) for Metal Oil-Shock is an essential suspension tune-up component designed for owners of the Carisma GT24B RC buggy who want to fine-tune their vehicle's handling characteristics. Whether you're a dedicated RC car enthusiast in the UK looking to optimise your ride height and suspension geometry, or a weekend basher seeking improved cornering performance, these soft-rate springs offer a versatile upgrade option for your metal oil-shock absorbers. As a spare part specifically engineered for the GT24B platform, this component represents genuine OEM quality that Carisma enthusiasts trust.

Suspension tuning is one of the most effective ways to unlock the full potential of your RC buggy, and spring rate selection is absolutely critical to achieving the handling balance you desire. The soft-rate designation of these springs means they compress more easily under load compared to standard or hard-rate alternatives, resulting in increased suspension compliance and a more planted feel through corners and over rough terrain. This makes them particularly suitable for drivers who prefer a softer, more forgiving suspension setup or who are racing on technical, bumpy tracks where additional compliance provides a competitive advantage.

Supplied as a pair, these springs are ready to install immediately into your Carisma GT24B's metal oil-shock suspension system. The precision engineering and material quality that Carisma is renowned for ensures consistent performance and longevity, giving you reliable suspension geometry that won't fade or lose its characteristics over extended running periods. Whether you're upgrading from your stock springs or experimenting with different spring rates to dial in your perfect setup, investing in genuine Carisma suspension components is the mark of a serious RC enthusiast committed to getting the best from their ready to run RC buggy.

Key Features

  • Soft Spring Rate — These springs are specifically tuned with a soft rate, meaning they require less force to compress compared to standard or hard springs, allowing your suspension to soak up bumps and maintain traction over rough ground whilst keeping the chassis planted through corners.
  • Compatible with Metal Oil-Shocks — Engineered specifically for use with Carisma's metal oil-shock absorber system, ensuring perfect fitment and consistent damping characteristics when paired with compatible dampers.
  • Pair Supplied — You receive two springs in this package, providing everything needed to upgrade either both rear shocks or both front shocks on your GT24B, depending on your suspension tuning strategy.
  • Genuine OEM Component — Manufactured by Carisma as an official spare part, guaranteeing authentic quality, precise specifications and long-term reliability matched to your vehicle's engineering standards.
  • Precision Engineered — The springs are manufactured to exact tolerances ensuring consistent spring rate across the pair, so both sides of your vehicle deliver identical suspension characteristics for balanced, predictable handling.
  • Suspension Tuning Solution — Part of Carisma's comprehensive range of tune-up options, allowing you to customise your GT24B's suspension geometry and compliance to suit your specific driving style and track conditions.

Technical Performance

The Carisma GT24B Spring (Soft) represents precision suspension engineering designed to work seamlessly within the GT24B's established suspension architecture. These soft-rate springs are manufactured from high-quality spring steel and engineered to deliver consistent compression characteristics across the full range of suspension travel. When paired with Carisma's metal oil-shock dampers, they create a suspension system capable of absorbing impacts effectively whilst maintaining chassis control and tyre contact patch stability. The soft rate makes them ideal for drivers seeking a more compliant setup that excels on technical, rough terrain where suspension compliance directly translates to improved traction and reduced wheel-spin. Compared to harder spring rates, these soft springs allow the suspension to work through a greater range of its available travel, which is particularly beneficial during mid-corner transitions and when navigating obstacles that would cause stiffer suspension setups to deflect more abruptly. The dual-spring setup (one pair supplied) provides enough material to upgrade either the front or rear suspension system completely, or both, depending on your tuning approach and the specific handling characteristics you're targeting.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between soft, standard and hard spring rates for RC buggy suspension? — Spring rate determines how much force is needed to compress the spring. Soft-rate springs compress more easily and provide greater suspension compliance, making them ideal for rough or bumpy tracks where you want the chassis to absorb impacts. Standard springs offer a balanced middle ground, whilst hard-rate springs resist compression and keep the chassis higher off the ground, preferred by drivers seeking sharper handling on smooth tracks. Your choice depends entirely on your track conditions and driving style.
  • Are these springs compatible with the standard Carisma GT24B? — Yes, these springs are specifically engineered for the Carisma GT24B and work with its metal oil-shock absorber system, ensuring perfect fitment and performance when installed into your vehicle's existing suspension.
  • How many springs do I need to upgrade my suspension? — Your Carisma GT24B has four shock positions (front left, front right, rear left, rear right). This pair supplies two springs, so you can upgrade one axle completely. To upgrade both front and rear, you would need two pairs.
  • Is suspension tuning difficult for beginners? — Spring installation is straightforward and requires only basic tools — typically just an Allen wrench or screwdriver. However, suspension tuning strategy requires some understanding of how different spring rates affect handling. We recommend starting with soft springs if you're new to tuning, as they provide a forgiving platform from which to learn.
  • Where can I buy genuine Carisma GT24B spare parts in the UK? — RC Model Shop stocks genuine Carisma spare parts including suspension components, ensuring you receive authentic OEM quality with the support of experienced RC specialists.
