Technical Performance
The Team Associated B64 FT Slipper Shaft and Outdrive represents precision engineering designed specifically for high-performance RC buggy applications. The slipper mechanism is a critical element of modern RC buggy design, particularly in the B64 FT platform which is engineered for both competitive racing and high-speed recreational driving. This assembly manages torque transmission and slip characteristics within the drivetrain, preventing shock loads from damaging the transmission gears or motor during rapid deceleration, hard cornering, or collision impact. The outdrive component interfaces with the slipper shaft to deliver power from the motor through the transmission to the wheels while maintaining the precise slip characteristics that Team Associated engineers have calibrated for optimal performance. Whether you're driving on a race track, through rough terrain, or in a competitive environment, this component works silently in the background to protect your investment and maintain consistent performance. The assembly is manufactured to the same tolerances and quality standards as the original equipment that comes with Team Associated B64 FT kits, ensuring perfect compatibility and reliable operation throughout the life of the component.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a slipper shaft and why do I need to replace it? — The slipper shaft is part of your RC buggy's drivetrain that controls how much torque is transmitted to the wheels before the clutch slips. Over time, through regular use, racing, or heavy impacts, the slipper mechanism can wear, affecting performance and protection. Replacing it ensures your drivetrain continues to function correctly and your motor and gears remain protected during hard driving.
- Is the AS92092 suitable for beginners? — This is a replacement spare part rather than a complete RC buggy, so it's intended for owners who already have a Team Associated B64 FT buggy and understand RC car maintenance. If you're new to RC cars and looking for a ready-to-run RC buggy UK option, you'll want to start with a complete B64 FT kit. However, if you already own a B64 FT and are learning to maintain it, this is an excellent part to learn about drivetrain servicing.
- Which B64 models is this compatible with? — The AS92092 slipper shaft and outdrive is compatible with the RC10B64D, RC10B64, and RC10B64 Club Racer variants, making it a versatile spare for anyone running any B64 platform buggy. Always refer to your kit manual to confirm the correct part number for your specific model and build configuration.
- How often should I replace this component? — This depends on how frequently and intensively you use your B64 FT. Competitive racers may need to service or replace the slipper assembly more frequently than recreational users. Regular inspection during scheduled maintenance is recommended, and replacement should be considered if you notice slippage under acceleration, unusual sounds from the transmission, or if the drivetrain feels less responsive than normal.
- Is this a difficult component to install? — Installation difficulty depends on your experience level with RC buggy maintenance. If you've previously serviced your B64 FT drivetrain, this should be a straightforward replacement. However, if you're unfamiliar with drivetrain work, consulting your kit manual or contacting our expert team at RC Model Shop is recommended to ensure correct installation and adjustment.
- Can I use this part in other Team Associated models? — No, this part is specifically engineered for the B64 FT platform. Using components from other models could result in poor fit, incorrect drivetrain geometry, and potential damage. Always use the part number specified in your kit manual to ensure compatibility.
