Overview

The RC4WD XVD Axle for Bully 2 Competition Crawler Axle (Z-S0521) represents a premium upgrade and replacement solution for serious rock crawler enthusiasts across the UK. Whether you're competing in demanding rock crawling events or pushing your Bully 2-based rig to its limits on technical terrain, these precision-engineered axle shafts deliver the performance and reliability you need. Built from CNC machined, heat-treated steel, the XVD shafts are specifically designed to handle the rigorous demands of competition crawler use, providing both durability and responsive steering control that competition drivers depend upon.

As a dedicated RC car UK retailer, we recognise that crawler enthusiasts require components that can withstand the punishing conditions of competitive rock crawling. The RC4WD XVD Axle set is engineered for exactly this purpose. These shafts offer a tight steering radius with an impressive 50-degree steering angle, allowing you to navigate through narrow gaps and execute the precise manoeuvres that win competitions. Supplied as a complete left and right shaft pair, they serve as both an initial upgrade for those building up their competition rig and a practical replacement option for keeping your Bully 2-based machine running smoothly through extended competition seasons.

RC crawling demands components that can endure constant stress and maintain consistent performance lap after lap. The RC4WD XVD Axle shafts meet these exacting standards with engineering that prioritises strength, precision and predictability. For UK-based crawlers looking to upgrade their Bully 2 Competition Crawler Front Axle (Z-A0012) with components that truly deliver, the Z-S0521 represents an excellent investment in your crawler's performance capabilities.

Key Features

  • CNC Machined Steel Construction — Each axle shaft is precision-machined using CNC technology, ensuring tight tolerances and consistent quality that you can rely on during competition. This level of manufacturing precision means each shaft integrates perfectly with your front axle assembly, eliminating play and ensuring predictable steering response when you need it most.
  • Heat-Treated for Durability — The steel shafts undergo heat treatment to increase hardness and strength, protecting against the repetitive stress and impact forces that crawler competition imposes. This treatment significantly extends the service life of the components and reduces the risk of shaft failure during demanding rock crawling sessions.
  • 50-Degree Steering Angle — The XVD shafts deliver an exceptional 50-degree steering angle, providing the tight turning radius essential for navigating rock gardens and technical sections. This wide steering angle is a competitive advantage, allowing you to thread through obstacles and perform the sharp manoeuvres that separate winners from the rest of the field.
  • Complete Left and Right Pair — The Z-S0521 includes both left and right axle shafts, providing everything needed to upgrade your front axle assembly. This paired approach ensures matched performance characteristics across both sides of your crawler.
  • Competition-Grade Engineering — Designed specifically for the demands of competition crawler use, these shafts are engineered with the same attention to detail and quality standards that RC4WD brings to all their competition-focused products.

Technical Performance

The RC4WD XVD Axle shafts represent the convergence of precision engineering and durable materials science. Constructed from CNC machined, heat-treated steel, these components deliver the robustness required for competition rock crawling whilst maintaining the tight tolerances necessary for responsive steering control. The 50-degree steering angle is achieved through precision engineering that maximises lock without compromising structural integrity, a critical balance in competition crawling where sharp manoeuvres must be executed repeatedly without failure. Each shaft weighs just 1.94 ounces (55 grams), keeping unsprung weight low whilst maintaining the strength required for the punishment of rock gardens, technical climbs and competition courses. The heat treatment process hardens the steel, increasing resistance to the repetitive stress cycles that occur during extended crawler use, making these shafts suitable for serious competitors who demand reliability through multiple competition runs and practice sessions.

What's in the Box

  • 1 × RC4WD XVD Axle for Bully 2 Competition Crawler Axle (Left)
  • 1 × RC4WD XVD Axle for Bully 2 Competition Crawler Axle (Right)

Compatibility and Installation

  • Fits: Bully 2 Competition Crawler Front Axle (Z-A0012)
  • Installation requires removal of existing axle shafts and installation into your front axle assembly
  • No additional parts required for installation

Important Usage Notes

  • Steering Angle Limits — Over-steering or maximum steering the XVD units will cause damage and failure. Always respect the 50-degree steering angle maximum and avoid aggressive steering inputs that exceed this specification, as doing so will compromise shaft integrity and result in premature failure.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are the RC4WD XVD Axle shafts suitable for my Bully 2 Competition Crawler? — Yes, the Z-S0521 is specifically engineered for the Bully 2 Competition Crawler Front Axle (Z-A0012). These shafts are direct replacements and upgrades for standard equipment, delivering improved steering response and durability for competition use.
  • What makes these axle shafts competition-grade? — The combination of CNC machined precision, heat-treated steel construction and the 50-degree steering angle makes these shafts ideal for competition crawling. The precision manufacturing ensures tight tolerances and predictable performance, whilst the heat treatment increases durability under the stress of competitive use.
  • How much do these axle shafts weigh? — Each shaft assembly weighs 1.94 ounces (55 grams) total, keeping unsprung weight minimal whilst maintaining structural strength. This light weight helps improve suspension responsiveness and overall crawler handling.
  • What is the maximum steering angle these shafts support? — The RC4WD XVD Axle shafts are rated for a 50-degree steering angle, providing exceptional lock for tight turns and technical sections. It is critical not to exceed this angle, as doing so will damage the shafts and result in failure.
  • Are these shafts suitable for beginners? — Whilst the XVD Axles are competition-focused components, they serve as excellent replacements for anyone looking to upgrade their Bully 2 crawler. However, they require proper installation knowledge. We recommend consulting the Bully 2 documentation or seeking assistance from our experienced team to ensure correct installation.
  • How do I know if I need to replace my axle shafts? — Signs of worn or damaged axle shafts include excessive play in steering, inconsistent steering response, visible bending or cracking, or repeated steering failures. The RC4WD XVD Axles are robust replacements that will restore your crawler's handling characteristics.
  • What is the difference between these XVD shafts and standard axle shafts? — RC4WD's XVD shafts feature precision CNC machining and heat treatment for superior durability and consistency. The 50-degree steering angle is optimised for competition use, and the engineering reflects RC4WD's focus on performance and reliability in demanding crawler applications.
