Overview
The RC4WD Twister High Torque Metal Gear Digital Servo V2 (Z-E0136) is a robust, precision digital servo engineered for demanding radio control applications. Whether you're piloting an RC car UK enthusiast model, a scale crawler, or any RC vehicle that demands reliable steering control, this servo delivers the performance and durability you need. RC4WD has established itself as a leader in scale RC components, and this servo represents their commitment to quality engineering and precision control that serious RC hobbyists depend on.
This is the V2 variant of the popular Twister series, incorporating refinements and improvements over the original design. The servo features a metal gear train constructed for exceptional durability, ensuring it can handle the demanding torque loads that modern RC vehicles place on steering systems. With digital control technology, you get precise, responsive feedback that translates directly into better handling and more predictable steering response, whether you're navigating tight technical terrain or high-speed runs.
For RC enthusiasts in the UK seeking a dependable servo solution with metal gears and digital precision, this genuine RC4WD component represents an investment in reliability. The Twister High Torque Metal Gear Digital Servo V2 is specifically suggested for compatibility with RC4WD Miller Motorsport models, though its robust design makes it suitable for a range of RC applications where high torque steering performance is required.
Key Features
- High Torque Design — This servo is engineered specifically for high torque output, delivering 16 kg-cm of torque at 6.0V and 19 kg-cm at 7.4V, making it capable of handling heavy steering loads without stalling or losing precision during demanding manoeuvres.
- Metal Gear Construction — Unlike plastic geared servos that can strip under load, the all-metal gear train ensures exceptional durability and longevity, even when subjected to the extreme demands of rock crawling, high-speed driving, or competitive RC racing applications.
- Digital Control Technology — Digital servo electronics provide superior precision, faster response times, and smoother control compared to analogue alternatives, giving you the edge in handling and steering accuracy that serious RC enthusiasts demand.
- V2 Variant Improvements — This is the second generation Twister servo, incorporating refinements and improvements over the original model, representing the latest evolution of RC4WD's servo engineering.
- Aluminium Centre Case — The servo body features an aluminium centre case, providing excellent heat dissipation and structural rigidity whilst keeping weight reasonable for responsive control.
- Fast Response Speeds — With a speed of 0.23 seconds per 60 degrees at 6.0V and 0.20 seconds at 7.4V, this servo offers rapid response to control inputs, essential for precise steering in competitive or technical driving situations.
- Compact, Lightweight Design — Measuring just 54.04 x 20 x 38.6mm and weighing 62.5g, the Twister is compact enough to fit into tight mounting spaces whilst remaining lightweight enough not to adversely affect your RC vehicle's weight distribution.
- 25 Tooth Spline Servo Horn — Comes with a 25 tooth servo arm for secure mounting and reliable power transmission without slipping or play during steering inputs.
Technical Performance
The RC4WD Twister High Torque Metal Gear Digital Servo V2 represents the pinnacle of precision steering engineering for serious RC enthusiasts. The servo operates across a range of voltage inputs, delivering impressive performance metrics that make it suitable for both standard 6.0V and higher voltage 7.4V systems. At 6.0V, it produces 16 kg-cm of torque with a response time of 0.23 seconds per 60 degrees of rotation, whilst at the higher 7.4V voltage, torque increases to an impressive 19 kg-cm with response speeds improving to 0.20 seconds. This voltage flexibility means you can optimise the servo's performance to match your RC vehicle's power system configuration.
The construction quality is exceptional throughout. The all-metal gear train ensures that the servo can handle sustained high-torque demands without experiencing the gear stripping that sometimes affects plastic-geared alternatives. The aluminium centre case provides both structural rigidity and efficient heat dissipation, critical factors for maintaining performance during extended driving sessions. The digital control circuitry processes steering commands with millisecond precision, translating your radio inputs into smooth, accurate steering movements. At just 62.5g, the servo remains lightweight enough to avoid negatively impacting your RC vehicle's handling characteristics or weight distribution, particularly important for crawler and technical terrain applications where precise weight placement affects traction and climbing ability.
The overall dimensions of 54.04 x 20 x 38.6mm make this servo compatible with a wide range of servo mounting locations on modern RC vehicles. Whether you're upgrading the steering system on a ready to run RC model or integrating this servo into a custom build, the compact footprint minimises packaging constraints. The 25 tooth spline servo horn provides secure, reliable mechanical connection between the servo output shaft and your RC vehicle's steering linkage, eliminating the play and slippage that can occur with poorly seated servo arms.
