Overview
The UDI RC UCX24 M2.0*15 Hexagon Socket Buttonhead Machine Screw is an essential replacement part for RC model enthusiasts across the UK. Whether you're maintaining your remote control car, buggy, truck or crawler, having the correct fasteners on hand is crucial for keeping your RC vehicle in peak condition. These precision-engineered screws are specifically designed for the UDI RC UCX24 platform, ensuring perfect fit and compatibility with your model.
Buttonhead machine screws are a popular choice among RC hobbyists because they offer a low-profile design that sits flush or slightly recessed into components, reducing the risk of snagging on terrain or catching on other parts during operation. The hexagon socket design means you'll need the appropriate hex key (Allen wrench) for installation and removal, which provides superior grip and torque control compared to other screw types. This particular specification—M2.0 thread diameter with 15mm length—is commonly used throughout RC car construction for securing various chassis components, body panels, and mechanical assemblies.
RC Model Shop stocks genuine UDI RC replacement parts to keep your RC car running smoothly. Whether you're a competitive racer looking to maintain your off-road buggy, a weekend basher enjoying RC trucks across the UK, or a dedicated hobbyist building custom RC models, having quality screws available ensures you can perform quick repairs and maintenance without downtime. The UCX24-S011 is a vital component for any serious RC enthusiast.
Key Features
- M2.0 Thread Diameter — The 2.0 millimetre thread size is a standard specification across many RC car platforms, making this screw compatible with numerous UDI RC models and other brands that use metric fasteners in this size range.
- 15mm Length — The 15mm overall length provides sufficient engagement depth for secure fastening without protruding excessively, which is ideal for internal chassis components and body mounting points on RC cars.
- Hexagon Socket Head — The hex socket design allows for precise torque application using a hex key, providing better control than Phillips or flat-head alternatives and reducing the risk of stripping the screw head during installation or removal.
- Buttonhead Profile — The low-profile buttonhead design minimises protrusion from the mounting surface, reducing snag points when your RC vehicle encounters rough terrain, rocks, or obstacles during off-road driving.
- Machine Thread Specification — These are machine screws rather than self-tapping screws, meaning they're designed for use with pre-drilled or tapped holes, ensuring consistent and reliable fastening without damaging the receiving component.
- Genuine UDI RC Part — As an official UDI RC component, this screw is engineered to exact specifications and will provide the reliability and longevity you expect from genuine replacement parts for your RC model.
Technical Performance
The UCX24-S011 screw represents precision engineering designed specifically for the demands of RC motorsport and hobbyist driving. The M2.0*15 specification indicates a 2.0 millimetre metric thread with a 15 millimetre overall length, making this fastener ideal for securing internal and external components on your RC car platform. The hexagon socket buttonhead design offers multiple advantages: the buttonhead profile reduces drag and snagging risk during off-road driving, whilst the hex socket provides superior grip for torque application, minimising the potential for stripping. Machine thread construction ensures these screws work reliably in pre-tapped holes, maintaining consistent fastening pressure without the risk of the screw cutting new threads each time it's removed and reinstalled. The small but critical M2.0 size makes these screws perfect for RC applications where weight matters and components must be secured without excessive bulk. Whether you're maintaining a 1/10 scale RC buggy, a short course truck, a crawling rig, or any other RC platform that uses the UDI RC UCX24 chassis system, having quality replacement screws on hand is essential for keeping your model running between competitions or weekend bashing sessions across UK terrain.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between buttonhead and other screw head types for RC cars? — Buttonhead screws feature a low-profile dome-shaped head that sits flush or slightly recessed into components, unlike cap head screws which have a taller cylindrical head. For RC applications, buttonheads reduce snagging on terrain and internal components whilst providing a cleaner appearance. The hexagon socket design allows precise torque control with a hex key, which is superior to Phillips or flat-head options when working on precision RC models.
- Are these machine screws or self-tapping screws? — These are machine screws, not self-tapping screws. This means they're designed for use in pre-drilled or pre-tapped holes. Self-tapping screws cut their own threads as they're inserted, whereas machine screws rely on existing threaded holes for secure fastening. For RC applications, machine screws are preferred because they provide more consistent fastening pressure and don't risk damaging the receiving component through over-tightening.
- Will these screws fit my UDI RC model? — The UCX24-S011 is specifically engineered for the UDI RC UCX24 platform. If your RC model uses the UCX24 chassis system, these screws are designed to be compatible. Always verify your model number before ordering to ensure compatibility with your specific RC vehicle.
- What hex key size do I need to install these screws? — The hexagon socket size isn't specified in the available documentation, but you can determine the correct hex key by checking the socket diameter. For M2.0 buttonhead machine screws, standard hex socket sizes typically range from 1.5mm to 2.0mm depending on the manufacturer's specifications. Contact RC Model Shop if you need clarification on the exact hex key size for your specific application.
- How many screws come in a pack? — The exact quantity per pack isn't specified in the available product information. Contact RC Model Shop directly for pack quantity details, as replacement screw packs can vary from single screws to bulk assortments of 10, 20, or more.
- Why would I need replacement screws for my RC car? — During regular RC driving, whether you're racing competitively or bashing for fun, screws can loosen, strip, or become lost. Additionally, dismantling your RC model for maintenance, upgrades, or repairs may require replacement fasteners. Having genuine UDI RC replacement screws on hand ensures you can perform quick repairs without needing to source parts from multiple suppliers, keeping your RC vehicle ready for action.
