Key Features

  • Brushless Motor Technology — Unlike traditional brushed motors, the brushless design eliminates friction and wear from brush contact, resulting in significantly smoother operation, incredible efficiency, and remarkably low power consumption. This means your servo will run cooler, last longer, and provide more consistent performance throughout extended driving sessions or flying time.
  • High Voltage (HV) Operation Capability — The SB2273SG+ is engineered to handle high voltage power supplies, enabling operation at 7.4V where it delivers its maximum rated torque of 28kg and exceptional speed of just 0.095 seconds per 60 degrees. This HV capability provides substantially more power and responsiveness compared to standard 6V servos, making it essential for competitive RC applications where every millisecond counts.
  • Unique Steel Gear Train — The precision-engineered steel gear construction ensures durability and reliability under the extreme stresses of competitive racing and heavy-duty off-road use. Steel gears transmit power more efficiently than plastic alternatives and resist stripping even when the servo is pushed to its limits, making this servo suitable for both electric and nitro-powered RC vehicles.
  • Super High 12-Bit (4096) Resolution — This advanced digital servo processing delivers incredibly precise servo movements with 4096 discrete positions available, rather than the lower resolution found in basic servos. This exceptional precision translates to smoother, more controlled steering inputs and more accurate throttle response, giving drivers a significant competitive advantage.
  • Compact Lightweight Design — Weighing just 69.0 grams, the SB2273SG+ is designed to minimise vehicle weight whilst maintaining exceptional structural integrity. For RC car UK applications, especially in 1/8th and 1/10th scale vehicles, this lightweight construction directly improves acceleration, handling responsiveness, and battery runtime.
  • Soft Start Mode (Plus Variant) — The SB2273SG+ features Soft Start Mode, a technology innovation that provides gentler servo engagement when powered on. This protects mechanical components from sudden shocks and extends overall servo lifespan, particularly beneficial in high-stress applications like buggy racing and off-road bashing.
  • Sanwa SSR Compatibility — The Plus variant is fully compatible with Sanwa SSR radio systems, ensuring seamless integration with professional-grade RC radio equipment and allowing users to take advantage of advanced telemetry and control features without compatibility concerns.
  • Environmentally Friendly Design — Savox servos are engineered with sustainability in mind, from the materials used in construction through to the manufacturing process. This commitment to environmental responsibility means you're supporting greener RC hobby practices without compromising on performance.
  • Two Ball Bearings — The servo output shaft is supported by two precision ball bearings, reducing friction and play whilst delivering smooth, reliable rotation even under constant use. This bearing arrangement ensures the servo maintains its performance characteristics throughout its operational life.
  • 25-Tooth Output Gear Spline — The standard 25-tooth spline is widely compatible with aftermarket servo horns and control arms available from RC suppliers across the UK, ensuring you have numerous options for mounting and adjusting servo throw to suit your specific vehicle setup.

Technical Performance

The Savox SB2273SG+ represents a remarkable achievement in servo engineering, delivering performance specifications that compete with servos costing significantly more. At 7.4V using a high voltage LiPo battery, this digital brushless servo produces an exceptional 28 kilograms of torque (388.8 ounce-inches), with an astounding speed of 0.095 seconds per 60-degree rotation. These specifications place it firmly in the premium category for high-performance brushless RC vehicles. The servo maintains impressive performance even at 6V, delivering 23 kilograms of torque with a speed rating of 0.12 seconds per 60 degrees, making it versatile enough for multiple power supply configurations. The brushless motor technology ensures smooth, efficient operation with minimal electrical noise and interference, critical factors for vehicles running advanced radio systems. Construction features a unique steel gear train that resists the stripping and wear common in plastic-geared servos, whilst the lightweight aluminium case housing keeps overall mass to just 69.0 grams. The servo's dimensions of 40.3 x 20.2 x 38.7 millimetres make it compact enough for installation in modern 1/8th scale buggies and 1/10th scale trucks without taking up excessive space or adding unnecessary weight. Operating current under no-load conditions measures just 180mA at 6.0V and 220mA at 7.4V, indicating efficient power consumption even during active use. The stall current of 6000mA at 6.0V and 7400mA at 7.4V demonstrates the servo's capability to produce significant force under load. The servo operates across a temperature range of -10°C to +50°C, covering conditions from early morning winter racing to hot summer competition days. With a 333 Hz refresh rate and full operating travel of 100 degrees (1000 to 2000 microseconds), plus maximum travel capacity of approximately 130 degrees (900 to 2100 microseconds), this servo provides the versatility needed for both steering and throttle applications in competitive RC environments.
