This component is particularly valuable for anyone looking to maintain their FTX Hi-Rock or wanting to experiment with different suspension geometries to suit their specific crawling style and terrain preferences.
Available at RC Model Shop, the UK's trusted independent RC retailer, this genuine FTX spare part is stocked by an authorised dealer who understands the needs of RC enthusiasts. Whether you're replacing worn components, upgrading your suspension setup, or building a custom crawler configuration, this front upper link set represents excellent value and genuine FTX manufacturing quality.
Key Features
- 75mm Length Specification — The 75mm measurement provides a specific suspension geometry that affects the angle of attack and articulation characteristics of your Hi-Rock's front end, allowing you to dial in the exact handling balance you need for your preferred crawling technique and terrain type.
- Pack of Two Units — This set includes both left and right front upper links, meaning you have everything needed to replace the complete front upper suspension linkage on your FTX Hi-Rock, ensuring balanced and symmetrical suspension geometry across the vehicle.
- Genuine FTX Manufacturing — These components are officially manufactured by FTX, the respected RC vehicle producer, ensuring that the materials, tolerances and engineering match the original specification of your Hi-Rock and will integrate perfectly with your existing suspension system.
- Rock Crawler Optimised Design — The upper link design is specifically engineered for rock crawling applications where extreme suspension articulation and vertical obstacle negotiation are essential, providing the geometric angles required for maximum wheel droop and compression.
- Easy Replacement Installation — The standard ball stud connection points make these links straightforward to install or swap, allowing you to quickly adjust your suspension geometry without requiring specialist tools or extensive mechanical knowledge.
- Compatible with FTX Hi-Rock Models — Designed to fit perfectly with FTX Hi-Rock rock crawlers, these links ensure proper suspension alignment and performance when used as part of the complete suspension system.
Technical Performance
The FTX HI-ROCK Front Upper Link 75mm (2pc) represents quality engineering specifically tailored to the demands of rock crawling. Rock crawlers operate in an entirely different performance envelope compared to on-road or stadium-racing RC vehicles. They require suspension systems capable of extreme articulation—the ability of the wheels to move dramatically up and down independently while the chassis remains relatively level. This articulation is essential for negotiating vertical rock faces, ascending obstacles, and maintaining contact with all four wheels on highly uneven terrain. The 75mm length of these upper links is a critical specification that determines suspension geometry angles, affecting how the vehicle responds to compression and droop events. In rock crawling, you want maximum articulation to allow the wheels to flex dramatically while maintaining traction and stability. The two-piece configuration means you have one link for each side of the vehicle's front end, ensuring symmetrical suspension setup. These links are manufactured from durable materials appropriate for the stresses involved in rock crawling, where suspension components endure not just vertical forces but also the twisting and lateral loads that come from navigating uneven obstacles. The ball stud connection points are standard on quality RC suspension links, providing reliable attachment points to the chassis and suspension arms whilst allowing smooth movement and articulation. Installation involves basic socket wrenches and potentially a hex tool for the ball studs, making replacement accessible to most RC enthusiasts. When maintaining or upgrading an RC rock crawler in the UK, having access to genuine spare parts like these ensures that you can maintain the precision engineering and geometry your vehicle needs to perform at its best.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these suspension links suitable for rock crawling enthusiasts in the UK? — Yes, absolutely. These front upper links are specifically engineered for rock crawling applications. The 75mm length provides the suspension geometry needed for the extreme articulation that rock crawlers demand, making them ideal for UK hobbyists who enjoy tackling challenging terrain with their FTX Hi-Rock vehicles. Whether you're crawling rocky gardens, simulated obstacle courses, or practising technical manoeuvres, these links will provide the suspension characteristics required.
- Will these links fit my FTX Hi-Rock? — These parts are specifically designed for FTX Hi-Rock models. The FTX9174N model number ensures compatibility with Hi-Rock vehicles. Always verify you have a Hi-Rock model before purchasing, as suspension components are vehicle-specific and cannot be interchanged between different FTX platforms.
- How often do I need to replace these front upper links? — The lifespan of suspension links depends on how intensively you use your rock crawler, the terrain difficulty, and maintenance practices. Links can wear from repeated articulation, impacts, or ball stud loosening. Regular inspection before each session will help you identify wear, and replacement becomes necessary when you notice loose connections, visible damage, or suspension geometry issues. Many serious rock crawling enthusiasts keep spare suspension components like these on hand for quick replacement.
- What is the difference between 75mm and other link lengths available? — Link length directly affects suspension geometry and articulation characteristics. The 75mm length provides a specific angle between the suspension arms and chassis. Longer links would alter this geometry, affecting how much the suspension compresses and extends, and how the vehicle reacts to obstacles. The 75mm specification is the OEM dimension for the Hi-Rock front upper position, ensuring your vehicle maintains its intended suspension behaviour.
- Can I install these links myself? — Installation is straightforward for anyone with basic RC mechanical experience. You'll need appropriate hex wrenches to remove the old links from the ball studs and install the new ones. The ball studs secure the link to the upper suspension arm and the chassis mounting point. Most rock crawling enthusiasts perform their own suspension maintenance and upgrades, though if you're new to RC mechanics, watching installation videos or consulting with experienced enthusiasts can be helpful.
- Are these genuine FTX parts? — Yes, these are genuine FTX manufactured components. Buying from an authorised retailer like RC Model Shop ensures you receive authentic parts with proper manufacturing standards, not counterfeit or inferior copies that could compromise your vehicle's performance and safety.
