The 14-tooth configuration and M0.6 module specification make this a versatile option for a wide range of RC vehicles, from competitive on-road racers to off-road buggies and trucks. If you're looking to upgrade or replace a worn pinion gear on your RC car, or if you're building a custom RC setup that demands the finest components, the Fastrax M0.6 14T Pinion Gear delivers the quality and performance you need.
Fastrax has earned recognition throughout the RC community for producing affordable yet high-quality aftermarket upgrades and replacement parts. Based in the UK and serving RC enthusiasts worldwide, Fastrax understands what RC drivers need: components that perform reliably, withstand the demands of competitive racing and casual bashing, and offer genuine value for money. This M0.6 14T pinion gear exemplifies that philosophy, offering competition-grade performance at a price point that makes upgrading your RC vehicle genuinely accessible.
Key Features
- 7075 Aluminium Alloy Construction — This pinion gear is manufactured from premium 7075 aluminium alloy, the same material used in aerospace applications, which provides superior strength-to-weight ratio compared to lower-grade aluminium or plastic alternatives, ensuring your RC car maintains responsive handling and acceleration without the performance penalty of heavier components.
- 14-Tooth Configuration — The 14-tooth count is precisely engineered to provide optimal meshing with standard spur gears commonly found on RC vehicles, reducing backlash and ensuring smooth, efficient power transmission from your motor to the drivetrain.
- M0.6 Module Specification — The M0.6 module rating means this pinion gear features teeth sized and spaced to exact specifications, ensuring perfect compatibility with matching spur gears and delivering the precision engagement that serious RC drivers demand for consistent performance.
- Precision-Engineered Teeth — Every tooth on this pinion gear is machined to exacting tolerances, minimising gear noise, reducing wear on both the pinion and spur gear, and maximising the efficiency of power delivery to your RC vehicle's wheels.
- Lightweight Design — By utilising aluminium rather than steel or brass, Fastrax has created a pinion gear that reduces unsprung weight in your RC vehicle's drivetrain, directly improving acceleration, handling responsiveness, and overall driving dynamics.
- Excellent Wear Resistance — The 7075 aluminium alloy resists wear far better than plastic alternatives, meaning this pinion gear will maintain its performance characteristics through countless hours of driving before requiring replacement, whether you're racing competitively or bashing at the weekend.
Technical Performance
This Fastrax pinion gear represents a significant step up in quality for RC enthusiasts seeking to optimise their vehicle's drivetrain performance. The 7075 aluminium alloy construction combines remarkable strength with minimal weight, a balance that racing engineers have relied upon for decades in high-performance applications. At 14 teeth with M0.6 module specification, this pinion gear is engineered for precision engagement with standard RC spur gears, ensuring that power from your brushless or brushed motor transfers to the wheels with minimal loss and maximum efficiency. The precisely machined teeth profiles reduce backlash—the slight gap between teeth that can cause sloppy handling and inconsistent acceleration—making this an essential upgrade for anyone serious about their RC car's performance. Whether you're running a competition-grade 1/10-scale on-road racer, an off-road buggy, or a full-size RC truck, this pinion gear will integrate seamlessly into your drivetrain and deliver noticeably improved responsiveness. The aluminium construction also means this component will withstand the demands of high-performance driving without the brittleness that can plague plastic gears under extreme load. For RC drivers in the UK and beyond who understand that drivetrain quality directly impacts vehicle performance, the Fastrax M0.6 14T Pinion Gear is a recognised choice for reliability and precision.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Will this pinion gear fit my RC car? — The M0.6 module specification and 14-tooth configuration mean this pinion gear is compatible with most standard RC vehicles that use M0.6 module spur gears. However, verify your current spur gear specifications before purchasing to ensure perfect compatibility. Check your vehicle's manual or contact the manufacturer if you're unsure about your RC model's gear specifications.
- Why upgrade to an aluminium pinion gear from plastic? — Aluminium pinion gears offer superior durability, reduced weight, and better precision compared to plastic alternatives. Over time, plastic gears can wear, strip, or break under load, whereas 7075 aluminium maintains its integrity through extensive use. For anyone serious about their RC car UK setup, upgrading to an aluminium pinion gear is one of the most cost-effective performance improvements available.
- Is this pinion gear suitable for competitive racing? — Absolutely. The precision engineering, high-grade materials, and careful attention to tooth profile make this pinion gear an excellent choice for competition drivers who demand reliability and consistent performance at the track. Many serious RC racers choose Fastrax components precisely because they deliver competition-grade quality without premium pricing.
- What is M0.6 module and why does it matter? — Module refers to the size and spacing of gear teeth. M0.6 is a common standard in RC vehicles, meaning the teeth are sized and pitched to engage perfectly with matching M0.6 spur gears. Using the correct module ensures smooth, efficient power transmission and minimal gear wear—if you use mismatched modules, you risk poor meshing, noise, and premature failure.
- How long will this pinion gear last? — With proper maintenance and reasonable driving, a 7075 aluminium pinion gear from Fastrax will outlast most plastic alternatives by a significant margin. The actual lifespan depends on your driving style, the condition of your spur gear, and how frequently you drive. Aggressive racing or bashing will wear components faster than casual weekend driving, but the superior material composition ensures this pinion gear will deliver extended service life either way.
- Can I use this with a brushless motor? — Yes. This pinion gear will work with both brushless and brushed motors. The compatibility depends on the motor size, KV rating (for brushless), and your vehicle's drivetrain configuration rather than the motor type itself. As long as your motor is paired with a compatible spur gear that meshes with this M0.6 14T pinion gear, you're good to go.
