Technical Performance

The Fastrax Racing Pure Silicone Diff Oil 4000CST delivers professional-grade technical performance through its carefully formulated pure silicone composition. The 4000 centistoke viscosity rating places this oil in the medium-high range of differential oil options, making it suitable for drivers seeking to optimise differential lock-up characteristics and handling response in their RC cars. The pure silicone formulation ensures thermal stability across the wide temperature ranges experienced during competitive racing and recreational driving, whether you're pushing your RC car to the limit in summer conditions or dealing with the cooler temperatures of winter racing across the UK. This oil has been validated through extensive field testing by professional-level drivers who have subjected it to demanding conditions ranging from high-temperature Spanish racing venues to the variable wet conditions common to UK driving. The formulation maintains consistent viscosity characteristics that allow drivers to achieve predictable differential behaviour, translating to improved handling consistency and more reliable performance during critical racing moments. The engineering philosophy emphasises delivering oils that don't just meet specifications but exceed driver expectations for performance and reliability, making this product a trusted choice for serious RC car competitors and dedicated hobbyists seeking to extract maximum performance from their vehicles.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does the 4000CST viscosity rating mean for my RC car? — CST stands for centistoke, which measures oil viscosity or thickness. The 4000CST rating indicates this is a medium-high viscosity oil designed for differential tuning. A higher viscosity creates more differential lock-up and affects how your RC car's drivetrain responds during acceleration and cornering. This particular weight is suitable for drivers seeking a specific balance of differential response and is part of Fastrax's comprehensive range that allows fine-tuning for different track conditions and driving styles.
  • Is pure silicone oil better than other types of differential oil? — Pure silicone differential oils offer superior thermal stability and consistency across varying temperatures compared to many alternative formulations. This means the oil maintains its performance characteristics whether you're driving in hot summer conditions or cooler UK winter weather. The pure silicone formulation in this Fastrax product has been extensively tested and proven to deliver the consistency that professional drivers demand.
  • How do I know which viscosity of Fastrax oil is right for my RC car? — The Fastrax Racing range includes many different viscosity options to suit various conditions and preferences. The 4000CST weight is positioned in the medium-high range, making it suitable for drivers who want more differential engagement and control. Your choice between different weights should be based on your specific track surface, weather conditions, and how much differential lock-up you prefer. Testing different weights across Fastrax's comprehensive range allows you to find the perfect match for your setup.
  • Can I use this oil in extreme UK weather conditions? — Yes. The pure silicone formulation has been specifically tested in diverse conditions including the rain and variable temperatures typical of UK weather. The testing programme covered everything from Spanish heat to UK rain, ensuring that this oil maintains consistency and performance across the full spectrum of conditions you're likely to encounter as a UK-based RC enthusiast.
  • Is this suitable for beginners or competitive drivers only? — While this professional-grade oil has been developed and tested by Europe's leading drivers, it is suitable for any RC car enthusiast who wants to optimise their vehicle's performance. Beginners can benefit from starting with a standard viscosity, whilst experienced drivers and competitors can use the extensive range of options for advanced tuning. The easy-pour lid makes this product accessible to users of all skill levels.
  • Why is an easy-pour lid important? — Changing differential oil is a regular maintenance task for RC car enthusiasts. The easy-pour lid design means you can quickly and easily refill your differential without spilling, mess, or frustration. This convenience keeps you focused on driving and tuning rather than struggling with oil changes, allowing you to spend more time on the track and less time in the workshop.
