Key Features
- High-performance digital high-voltage coreless servo — The coreless motor design eliminates electromagnetic cogging, delivering smoother, more precise control response than traditional brushed motors. This is critical for maintaining steering accuracy during high-speed manoeuvres and precise weight transfer in competitive racing scenarios.
- High-precision aluminium gears with hard anodizing — The gear train uses aircraft-grade aluminium components that have been hard anodised for exceptional wear resistance and durability. This means your servo will maintain consistent performance even after hundreds of hours of operation, with minimal gear backlash or slop developing over time.
- Dual ball bearings — Two precision ball bearings support the servo shaft, dramatically reducing friction and enabling faster response times. This bearing design distributes forces evenly, extending the lifespan of the servo and enabling reliable operation in both high-torque crawling applications and high-speed racing scenarios.
- CNC aluminium middle hull — The servo's structural casing is machined from solid aluminium using CNC precision equipment, ensuring perfect dimensional accuracy and rigidity. This construction method provides superior strength compared to plastic housings, with better heat dissipation and vibration damping properties essential for consistent performance.
- Waterproof design — Sealed construction protects internal components from water ingress, mud and dust contamination. Whether you're running in wet weather conditions across the UK or splashing through water crossings, this servo maintains full functionality and prevents corrosion of delicate electronics.
- JR connector compatibility — The servo features a standard JR-type connector with 265mm (10.43 inch) cable length, offering broad compatibility with the vast majority of RC receivers and radio systems available in the UK market today.
Technical Performance
The ETRONIX ET2061 delivers outstanding technical specifications that place it firmly in the high-performance servo category. The coreless motor operates at 0.112 seconds per 60 degrees of rotation when powered by a standard 6.0V battery pack, with speed increasing to an impressive 0.095 seconds per 60 degrees when running on high-voltage 8.4V LiPo batteries. This exceptional speed makes the servo ideal for steering control in fast-paced RC racing applications where response time is measured in milliseconds. The stall torque specifications are equally impressive, providing 12.86 kg-cm (178.59 oz/in) at 6.0V and a commanding 15.83 kg-cm (219.83 oz/in) at 8.4V. This substantial torque output makes the servo suitable for both steering duties on high-speed racing cars and demanding applications like RC crawling where immense control force is required to navigate obstacles and maintain traction. The servo maintains a dead band of just 1 microsecond and operates at a working frequency of 1520 microseconds (330Hz), providing extremely fine control resolution that serious racers demand. Weighing only 59.3 grams (2.09 ounces), the servo adds minimal unsprung weight to your RC car, helping preserve handling balance and suspension response. The high-voltage capability — supporting 8.4V operation — makes this servo compatible with modern 2S LiPo batteries that dominate the contemporary RC car UK market, enabling you to maximise power delivery to your entire drivetrain whilst enjoying faster servo response times.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What voltage should I run this servo at for best performance? — The ETRONIX ET2061 is rated for operation between 6.0V and 8.4V. For maximum performance and speed, use an 8.4V source such as a 2S LiPo battery, which will deliver the servo's fastest operating speed of 0.095 seconds per 60 degrees and maximum stall torque of 15.83 kg-cm. Standard 6.0V NiMh packs will work but will deliver slightly slower response times of 0.112 seconds per 60 degrees.
- Is this servo suitable for crawling or only for racing? — This servo excels in both applications. The impressive 15.83 kg-cm stall torque at 8.4V makes it ideal for precision steering control on technical rock-crawling courses where exact positioning is essential. The digital precision and dual ball bearing design also make it perfect for high-speed on-road and off-road racing where fast, accurate response is critical for lap times and overall drivability.
- Can I use this servo with a standard receiver? — Yes. The servo features a standard JR-type connector and is compatible with any RC receiver that has available servo channels and can supply sufficient BEC (battery elimination circuit) current. Check your receiver's documentation to confirm it can supply adequate current for high-torque servo operation; some budget receivers have limited BEC capacity that may cause voltage sag under heavy load.
- What is the difference between this and cheaper standard servos? — The ETRONIX ET2061 offers several significant advantages over budget alternatives. The coreless motor delivers superior smoothness and response precision compared to standard brushed motors. The high-precision aluminium gears with hard anodizing resist wear far longer than plastic gears found on budget servos. The dual ball bearing design provides lower friction and faster response. The waterproof construction adds durability in outdoor UK conditions. The high-voltage capability (8.4V) enables faster response and increased torque compared to servos limited to 6.0V operation. These engineering improvements justify the investment for serious RC car UK enthusiasts who demand reliability and performance.
- How does the 1?s dead band affect control precision? — The 1 microsecond dead band represents the minimum change in control input that the servo can detect and respond to. This extremely tight dead band means the servo responds immediately to even tiny adjustments from your transmitter, enabling fine-tuning of steering inputs and delivering the precise control required for competitive racing and technical driving manoeuvres.
- Is this servo waterproof enough for wet UK weather? — Yes. The servo features sealed waterproof construction that protects internal components from moisture, mud and salt spray. This makes it suitable for outdoor running in typical British weather conditions, including rain and wet terrain. However, waterproof does not mean fully submersible; avoid deliberately dunking the servo in water and ensure the connector remains dry to prevent electrical faults.
- What spline count does this servo use? — While not explicitly specified in the manufacturer data, this is a standard-size servo that typically uses the industry-standard 25-tooth spline design compatible with most servo horns available for 1/10 scale RC cars. Verify your specific model's compatibility before purchase, as some manufacturers use proprietary spline counts.
