Key Features
- Ultra Pure Silicone Formulation — The ultra-pure silicone base ensures minimal impurities and contaminants, which means cleaner operation, better seal compatibility, and longer-lasting shock absorbers. This purity level is critical for maintaining consistent damping performance and preventing premature wear of internal shock components.
- 200 CST Viscosity Grade — The 200 cSt viscosity marking is a precisely engineered damping coefficient that has been selected to provide optimal shock response for a wide range of RC vehicles. This viscosity grade delivers the right balance between responsiveness and stability, making it suitable for various driving conditions and racing styles.
- 150ml Convenient Bottle — The 150ml capacity provides ample shock oil for multiple refills and maintenance cycles, giving you excellent value and reducing the frequency of reordering. The bottle size is practical for storage and handling, and the volume is sufficient for servicing both front and rear shock absorbers on typical RC cars.
- 100% Pure Silicone Oil — Free from additives and mineral oils that could compromise seal integrity or alter damping characteristics, this pure formulation maintains consistent performance and protects your shock absorber internals from chemical degradation over time.
- Professional Grade Quality — Corally shock oils are used by competitive racers across Europe and beyond, meaning this product has been proven in demanding motorsport environments where performance margins are measured in hundredths of a second.
- Comprehensive Safety Documentation — The product includes full Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) available in English, German, French, and Dutch, ensuring proper handling and compliance with health and safety regulations across the UK and EU.
Technical Performance
The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 200 CPS represents a carefully engineered solution for RC shock absorber maintenance. The 200 cSt (centistoke) viscosity specification is critical to understanding this product's performance characteristics. In the world of RC damping, viscosity directly correlates to how quickly the shock absorber responds to input—thicker oils create more resistance and slower response, whilst thinner oils allow faster shock movement. The 200 cSt grade sits in a sweet spot for many RC vehicles, providing adequate damping control without creating excessive harshness or reducing suspension compliance. The ultra-pure silicone construction ensures that this viscosity remains stable across temperature variations that occur during extended running sessions, meaning your suspension characteristics remain consistent whether you're running in winter cold or summer heat. The formulation's purity is particularly important because it prevents gumming or separation that can occur with lower-quality oils, ensuring that your shock seals remain clean and functional. For RC car enthusiasts in the UK preparing for track days or race meetings, maintaining shock oil at this specification level is the difference between predictable handling and variable performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does 200 CPS mean for my RC shock absorbers? — CPS (centipoise) is the measurement of fluid viscosity or thickness. A 200 CPS rating means this oil has a specific resistance to flow that creates appropriate damping action in your shock absorbers. This viscosity grade is suitable for a wide range of RC vehicles and provides a balanced setup for most driving conditions on road and off-road tracks.
- How often should I change my shock oil? — The frequency depends on how often you run your RC vehicle and the conditions in which you operate it. Many serious racers change shock oil every few months or after significant running hours to maintain optimal performance. Dusty or wet conditions may require more frequent changes as contamination is more likely.
- Is Corally shock oil compatible with all RC vehicles? — Corally shock oils are formulated to work with standard shock absorbers across most RC brands including Traxxas, ARRMA, Losi, FTX and many others. However, always check your specific vehicle's manual for recommended viscosity grades, as some competition vehicles may call for thicker or thinner oils depending on their intended setup.
- What's the difference between this 200 CPS and other viscosity grades? — Lower viscosity oils (100 CPS, 150 CPS) flow more freely and create less damping resistance, allowing faster shock response but potentially less stability. Higher viscosity oils (250 CPS, 300 CPS) provide more damping control and stability but can make the suspension feel harsher. The 200 CPS grade offers a middle-ground that works well for general-purpose RC driving and racing.
- Why is ultra-pure silicone important? — Ultra-pure formulations prevent the buildup of contaminants and additives that can damage shock seals or alter damping characteristics over time. This purity ensures consistent performance and longer shock service life, making it the economical choice despite potentially higher initial cost.
- Can I use this in sealed shocks and open shocks? — This silicone oil is suitable for use in standard RC shock absorbers. Always verify compatibility with your specific shock design, as some sealed competition shocks may have proprietary requirements.
