Key Features
- Sensored Brushless Design — The integrated sensor system provides smooth commutation and precise motor control, allowing the ESC to deliver perfectly timed power pulses that eliminate cogging and ensure consistent acceleration throughout the entire throttle range, which is critical in competitive racing scenarios where repeatability matters.
- 4-Pole Rotor Configuration — The 4-pole design offers an optimised balance between torque delivery and revolutions per minute, providing sufficient low-end punch for rapid acceleration whilst maintaining the high-speed capability needed on longer straights, making this motor versatile across different track layouts.
- 1950KV Rating — This KV specification means the motor will spin at 1950 revolutions per minute for every volt supplied, positioning it in the sweet spot for 1/8 on-road and racing applications, delivering competitive speeds without demanding excessive current draw that would stress battery and ESC components.
- Adjustable Timing — The ability to adjust motor timing allows you to optimise performance characteristics for different driving conditions, battery voltages and personal driving preferences, giving you the control to extract maximum performance when you need it most.
- Competition-Grade Specifications — Compliant with IFMAR, BRCA, EFRA and ROAR regulations, this motor is approved for use in organised racing events and championships, ensuring your investment in quality equipment is recognised and accepted wherever you race.
- 12-Slot Stator with Steel Laminations — The precision-wound 12-slot stator combined with 0.2mm steel laminations ensures efficient power transfer, reduced eddy current losses and cooler running temperatures during extended practice sessions and race meetings.
- Minimal Internal Resistance — At just 0.01 ohms, the motor's internal resistance is exceptionally low, meaning more of your battery's power is converted into useful mechanical motion rather than being wasted as heat, directly translating to better performance and efficiency.
- Compact 4268 Size Package — The 42mm diameter and 68mm length make this motor compatible with a wide range of 1/8 scale racing platforms, fitting standard motor mounts without requiring extensive modifications to your chassis.
- Standard 5mm Shaft — The 5.0mm diameter shaft with 19mm length accommodates industry-standard motor pinions and spur gear combinations, allowing you to use existing drivetrain components or mix and match with parts from your spare parts box.
- 2400 Watts Power Output — With 2400 watts of continuous power available, the Pista 805 delivers the performance envelope needed for serious 1/8 scale racing, sustaining high-speed runs whilst maintaining reliability and consistency over multiple heats.
Technical Performance
The Team Corally Pista 805 Sensored motor is engineered to the exacting standards expected in modern 1/8 scale RC racing. The sensored brushless system utilises integrated Hall effect sensors to monitor rotor position, enabling the electronic speed controller to deliver perfectly synchronised commutation that eliminates the cogging and dead spots associated with sensorless designs. This results in smoother, more predictable acceleration that responds precisely to throttle input, which is essential when you're navigating a tight technical track where control and consistency determine championship results.
Built with a 12-slot stator incorporating 0.2mm steel laminations, the motor minimises energy losses and operates at cooler temperatures compared to conventional designs, meaning longer run times before thermal performance degradation occurs. The 4-pole rotor design strikes an excellent balance in the 1/8 scale racing world: it produces sufficient torque for rapid acceleration from corners whilst maintaining the RPM capability needed for competitive top speeds. At 1950KV, combined with typical 2S to 6S LiPo battery compatibility, you'll achieve speeds that put you in the competitive window for 1/8 on-road, GT rally, buggy, pan car and short course truck racing across UK race tracks and clubs.
The motor's 0.01 ohm internal resistance is remarkably low, which means nearly all the current supplied by your ESC is converted into useful mechanical work rather than being dissipated as wasted heat. With a maximum current capability of 92 amps and rated power output of 2400 watts, this motor demands a capable electronic speed controller but rewards that investment with the kind of responsive, linear power delivery that separates competitive machines from casual runners. The adjustable timing feature gives you the flexibility to optimise performance as you experiment with different LiPo cell counts, ESC firmware settings and mechanical drivetrain ratios, ensuring you can always extract maximum performance from your racing platform regardless of setup changes.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Team Corally Pista 805 suitable for competitive 1/8 scale RC racing in the UK? — Absolutely. The motor is fully compliant with IFMAR, BRCA, EFRA and ROAR regulations, making it approved for use in organised racing events and championships across the United Kingdom. If you're building a competitive 1/8 on-road, GT rally, buggy, pan car or short course truck racer, this sensored brushless motor is an excellent choice that won't let you down in qualifying heats or final races.
- What battery voltage range does this motor support? — The Pista 805 is compatible with 2S, 3S, 4S, 5S and 6S lithium polymer (LiPo) battery packs. This flexibility allows you to choose the voltage best suited to your ESC, gearing and track conditions. Most competitive 1/8 on-road racers favour 3S or 4S LiPo setups, whilst some drivers experimenting with 5S or 6S configurations appreciate the extra performance for high-speed outdoor racing.
- How does the sensored brushless design benefit my racing performance? — Sensored brushless motors utilise Hall effect sensors to monitor rotor position, allowing your ESC to deliver perfectly timed power pulses with no commutation delay. This eliminates the cogging and dead spots found in sensorless designs, resulting in smoother, more predictable acceleration that responds instantly to throttle input. In competitive racing where lap times are measured in hundredths of a second, this consistency and responsiveness can genuinely make a difference.
- What electronic speed controller do I need for this motor? — You'll require a brushless-compatible ESC capable of handling the Pista 805's maximum current draw of 92 amps continuously. Most quality 1/8 scale racing ESCs from manufacturers like Hobbywing, Castle and similar brands will handle this comfortably. Ensure your chosen ESC supports sensored brushless motor operation and offers adjustable timing features if you want to fully utilise the motor's potential.
- Can I use this motor in a brushless RC buggy or short course truck? — Yes. The Pista 805 is approved for use in 1/8 buggy and short course truck competition. Its compact 4268 size package and standard 5.0mm shaft fit the motor mounts on most contemporary 1/8 scale buggies and SCTs. The sensored technology and adjustable timing make it equally at home powering these vehicles as it is in on-road applications.
- How does adjustable timing improve my motor's performance? — Adjustable timing allows you to shift the point at which the ESC commutates the motor coils, effectively advancing or retarding when power is applied during the rotor's rotation. Advancing timing increases top speed and high-RPM performance but demands more current, whilst retarding timing improves low-end torque and efficiency. By adjusting timing through your ESC settings, you can optimise the motor's characteristics to match your preferred driving style, track layout and battery voltage.
- What makes this motor different from other 1/8 scale brushless motors? — The Pista 805 combines several design advantages: the sensored brushless system for smooth, predictable commutation; the 4-pole rotor for balanced torque and RPM; the 12-slot stator with steel laminations for efficiency; an extremely low 0.01 ohm internal resistance; and full compliance with major international racing regulations. These features together create a motor that delivers the consistency, reliability and performance expected in competitive racing environments.
- What is the 1950KV rating and how does it affect speed? — KV is a measure of how many revolutions per minute the motor spins for each volt of power supplied. A 1950KV motor will spin at approximately 1950 RPM per volt. With a 4S LiPo battery (nominally 14.8 volts), you'd see roughly 28,700 RPM at the motor shaft before gearing reduces this to wheel speed. The 1950KV rating positions this motor in the competitive window for 1/8 scale racing, balancing speed and torque appropriately for these platforms.
