Overview

The Corally Vulcan II Pro Modified Sensored Brushless Motor 6.5T (C-61153) represents the pinnacle of precision engineering for competitive RC car enthusiasts across the UK. This professional-grade brushless motor has been engineered specifically for modified class racing, making it the ideal choice for serious competitors looking to dominate on the track. Whether you're piloting a 1/10 buggy, 1/10 touring car, 1/10 pan car, or 1/12 pan car, this motor delivers the performance consistency and reliability that championship-winning drivers demand from their RC equipment.

The Vulcan II Pro Modified represents years of Team Corally's motorsport expertise, combined with cutting-edge brushless motor technology. Built to comply with all major racing organisations including ROAR, BRCA, EFRA, and IFMAR, this motor is competition-ready straight out of the box. For RC enthusiasts in the UK seeking a brushless RC motor that balances raw power with precision control, the Vulcan II Pro Modified delivers on every front. The sensored design ensures smooth acceleration, predictable handling characteristics, and exceptional consistency lap after lap — essential qualities when every millisecond counts in competitive racing.

This isn't just another brushless motor; it's a finely-tuned performance component built with the same standards applied to full-size racing engines. The combination of advanced engineering, premium materials, and meticulous quality control makes the C-61153 a trusted choice among RC drivers who refuse to compromise on performance or reliability.

Key Features

  • Sensored Brushless Technology — The integrated sensor system provides smooth throttle response and precise motor timing control, eliminating the jerky acceleration associated with sensorless motors and allowing drivers to maintain absolute control through every corner and acceleration zone on the track.
  • 6.5 Turn Configuration — The 6.5T winding delivers the optimal balance between acceleration and top speed for modified class racing, providing competitive edge without sacrificing the smooth power delivery needed for technical track layouts.
  • Adjustable Timing — Variable timing adjustment allows tuning of the motor's performance characteristics to match your specific track conditions, driving style, and setup preferences, giving you the competitive advantage when race conditions change.
  • 3-Slot Stator with Steel Laminations — The precision-engineered 3-slot stator combined with 0.2mm steel laminations ensures maximum efficiency and reduced heat generation, meaning longer run times and more consistent performance throughout your entire race day.
  • 2-Pole Rotor Design — The efficient 2-pole rotor configuration maximises torque delivery and acceleration characteristics, providing the responsive power curve that competitive drivers demand for both high-speed sections and technical low-speed control.
  • Competition-Class Compliance — Full certification by ROAR, BRCA, EFRA, and IFMAR means this motor meets all official racing regulations, making it legal and ready for entry in sanctioned UK and international RC racing events.
  • Professional-Grade Engineering — Every component has been precision-manufactured to exacting tolerances, ensuring consistency between production units and eliminating the variability that can cause unpredictable handling in competitive environments.
  • Compact 540 Motor Size — The standard 540 form factor ensures perfect compatibility with the vast majority of 1/10 and 1/12 scale RC platforms, requiring no chassis modifications or custom mounting solutions.

Technical Performance

The Corally Vulcan II Pro Modified Sensored Brushless Motor delivers impressive technical specifications engineered for competitive excellence. Running at 5600 KV (revolutions per volt), this motor achieves a maximum power output of 395 watts, producing a peak current draw of 98 amps under full throttle conditions. The motor accepts 1S or 2S lithium-polymer battery configurations, giving drivers flexibility in power delivery and run-time optimisation. With an idle current consumption of just 4.5 amps, efficiency is maximised, meaning more usable power from your batteries and less wasted energy as heat. The extremely low motor resistance of 0.01 ohms ensures minimal power loss during current delivery, translating directly to faster acceleration and more responsive handling. The rotor dimensions of 12.3mm outer diameter by 5.0mm inner diameter by 24.5mm length provide a compact yet efficient magnetic design, whilst the adjustable timing system allows fine-tuning of the commutation curve to match track conditions and driving preferences. The motor body measures 35.8mm in diameter and 52mm in length, fitting perfectly into standard 540-class motor bays found in most modern 1/10 and 1/12 scale RC cars. The 3.17mm diameter shaft with 13mm length engages with standard pinions and provides a reliable mechanical interface. All components are manufactured to exacting standards with precision tolerances, ensuring that every motor performs identically to its peers — a critical requirement for competitive racing where consistency from lap to lap determines winners from losers. The steel lamination construction of the stator minimises magnetic losses and reduces unwanted heat generation, keeping the motor running cool and maintaining maximum efficiency even during extended high-performance driving sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between this 6.5T motor and other Corally Vulcan II variants like the 5.5T? — The 6.5T configuration features higher turn windings compared to lower-turn variants, resulting in lower KV rating (5600 KV versus higher speeds on lower-turn motors), more torque, and gentler acceleration characteristics. The 6.5T is ideal for technical tracks requiring precise control, whilst lower-turn options suit high-speed, wide-open carpet venues. Both models offer identical sensored reliability and comply with racing regulations.
  • Is the Corally Vulcan II Pro Modified suitable for beginners? — This motor is engineered specifically for competitive modified-class racing rather than casual bashing or beginner use. The sensored brushless technology is more forgiving than sensorless alternatives, but the motor itself requires a quality brushless ESC, proper LiPo battery handling knowledge, and integration into a dedicated RC racing vehicle. Beginners should consider Ready-to-Run starter kits before investing in competition-grade components.
  • What battery does this motor need? — The Vulcan II Pro Modified accepts 1S or 2S lithium-polymer battery packs. A 1S LiPo provides simpler setup and lighter weight, whilst 2S configurations deliver roughly double the voltage and consequently higher speed and current draw. Your specific vehicle and ESC will determine which configuration suits your application best. Always use a quality brushless-rated ESC compatible with your chosen battery configuration.
  • Can I use this motor with my existing RC car? — The motor's 540 size and standard 3.17mm shaft make it compatible with most modern 1/10 and 1/12 scale RC vehicles originally designed for 540-class brushless motors, including buggies, touring cars, pan cars, and truggy platforms. However, you must verify your vehicle's motor bay dimensions and connection specifications before purchase. Consult your RC vehicle's manual or contact the manufacturer to confirm compatibility.
  • How does the sensored design improve performance? — The integrated sensor system eliminates the throttle deadband and jerky acceleration common in sensorless motors by providing precise commutation feedback at all RPM ranges. This results in smooth, linear acceleration from standstill through mid-range to top speed, allowing drivers to modulate throttle with millimetre-precision for maximum control through technical sections and corner entry.
  • What makes this a "Modified" class motor? — Modified-class motors feature unrestricted winding configurations and design flexibility within competition rules, allowing higher performance than stock or sport-class alternatives. The Vulcan II Pro Modified is explicitly designed and certified for modified-class racing, making it legal for sanctioned competition events governed by ROAR, BRCA, EFRA, and IFMAR racing bodies across Europe and the UK.
  • How do I adjust the timing on this motor? — The Vulcan II Pro Modified features adjustable timing via physical timing adjustment or through compatible ESC programming, depending on your specific ESC model. Refer to the comprehensive Vulcan II manual for detailed timing adjustment procedures specific to your setup configuration.
