The Corally Shock Tower Asuga XLR Rear is a premium-grade tuning component designed for serious RC enthusiasts and competitive racers in the UK. This is a genuine Team Corally spare part manufactured to the highest Swiss standards, engineered specifically for the Asuga XLR 6S range of RC cars. Whether you're upgrading your ready to run RC car or fine-tuning a competition build, this shock tower replacement offers the precision engineering and material quality that separates championship-winning setups from casual weekend bashers.
If you own or are considering purchasing a Corally Asuga XLR 6S RC car – whether it's the brushless RTR version or the roller chassis – understanding the importance of high-quality shock tower components is crucial to your vehicle's performance and longevity. The shock tower is a critical structural component that directly affects suspension geometry, handling characteristics and overall chassis rigidity. This Corally item represents a direct replacement designed with exacting tolerances to maintain the perfect setup your RC car demands.
This is not a knock-off alternative or generic aftermarket part. This is genuine Team Corally engineering, manufactured in Italy using CNC precision machining and finished with hard anodising to resist corrosion and wear. For anyone serious about RC racing, track days, or simply maintaining their Asuga XLR at peak performance, this shock tower is an essential spare or upgrade component to keep in your RC hobby toolbox.
Key Features
- Swiss Made 7075 T6 Aluminium Construction — This shock tower is crafted from aerospace-grade 7075-T6 aluminium alloy, which is recognised worldwide as one of the strongest and most durable aluminium materials available for precision RC components. This material choice means your shock tower will maintain its shape and structural integrity under extreme cornering forces, repeated impacts and the vibrations inherent to high-performance RC driving.
- Hard Anodised Finish in Black — The hard anodising process creates a tough, wear-resistant oxide layer on the aluminium surface that protects against corrosion, dust ingress, and oxidation. The attractive black finish not only looks professional but also protects the underlying metal from the elements, whether you're running your RC car indoors or outdoors in the UK climate.
- CNC-Machined Precision — Every detail of this shock tower has been CNC-machined to exacting tolerances, ensuring perfect fitment with your Asuga XLR chassis. CNC machining produces repeatable, accurate components that maintain consistent suspension geometry across your entire RC car's lifespan, critical for predictable handling and competitive performance.
- 5mm Thickness Profile — The 5mm thickness specification provides an optimal balance between lightweight construction and rigid structural integrity. This thickness is engineered specifically for the Asuga XLR platform, ensuring the shock tower resists flex and maintains proper shock mount geometry under dynamic racing conditions.
- Direct OEM Replacement — This is a genuine Team Corally component manufactured to original equipment manufacturer specifications, meaning it drops into your Asuga XLR with perfect fitment and compatibility without requiring modification or adjustment.
- Italian Manufacturing Excellence — Team Corally's manufacturing facilities in Italy are renowned throughout the RC racing world for exceptional quality control and attention to detail. When you purchase this shock tower, you're getting the benefit of decades of racing expertise and continuous refinement.
Technical Performance
The Corally Shock Tower represents the pinnacle of RC chassis tuning components available to UK RC enthusiasts. Manufactured from 7075-T6 aluminium alloy – the same material used in aerospace applications – this component provides exceptional strength-to-weight ratio and dimensional stability that directly translates to improved handling and reduced chassis flex during aggressive cornering and acceleration. The hard anodised black finish isn't merely cosmetic; it's a critical protection layer that prevents corrosion and extends component lifespan, particularly important for UK drivers who may contend with damp conditions. At 5mm thickness, this shock tower is engineered to the precise specifications of the Asuga XLR 6S platform, whether you're running the brushless RTR models in red, blue or green, or building up a roller chassis for competition. CNC machining ensures tolerances measured in hundredths of a millimetre, guaranteeing perfect alignment with shock mounts and maintaining the critical suspension geometry that separates winning setups from also-rans. For competitive RC racing, track day events, or anyone serious about maintaining their Asuga XLR at maximum performance potential, this shock tower is an investment in consistent, predictable handling and durability that will endure seasons of hard driving.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this shock tower compatible with my Corally Asuga XLR 6S RC car? — Yes, this shock tower is designed specifically for the Corally Asuga XLR 6S range. It is confirmed compatible with the C-00288 Asuga XLR and all related variants including the C-00288-G (Green RTR Brushless), C-00288-B (Blue RTR Brushless), C-00288-R (Red RTR Brushless), C-00488-G (Green Roller), C-00488-B (Blue Roller) and C-00488-R (Red Roller) models.
- What makes 7075-T6 aluminium better than standard aluminium for RC parts? — 7075-T6 is an aerospace-grade aluminium alloy that offers significantly higher strength and hardness compared to standard or 6061 aluminium. This means it resists bending and deformation under extreme forces, maintains dimensional stability over time, and provides superior durability during competitive RC racing. It's the material of choice for precision RC racing components worldwide.
- Why is hard anodising important for an RC shock tower? — Hard anodising creates a protective oxide layer on the aluminium surface that resists corrosion, prevents oxidation, and protects against wear from repeated assembly and disassembly. This is particularly important for UK drivers who may use their RC cars in varying weather conditions, as the anodised surface prevents rust and maintains the component's appearance and functionality over extended periods.
- Can I use this as a spare part or does it require special installation? — This is a direct OEM replacement part that fits the Asuga XLR without modification. However, we recommend consulting your Asuga XLR instruction manual or seeking advice from experienced RC technicians to ensure proper installation and that your suspension geometry remains correctly configured after replacement.
- What is the difference between this shock tower and cheaper alternatives? — This is a genuine Team Corally component manufactured in Italy using aerospace-grade materials and CNC precision machining. Cheaper alternatives may use lower-grade aluminium, inferior anodising, or looser manufacturing tolerances that result in imprecise fitment, suspension geometry errors, and reduced component lifespan. For serious RC racing in the UK, this genuine component delivers the quality and reliability that impacts your performance on the track.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — This product is a replacement/tuning component rather than a complete RC car. It is best suited for RC enthusiasts who already own an Asuga XLR 6S and understand how to perform basic chassis maintenance. If you're new to RC, we recommend purchasing a complete ready to run (RTR) Asuga XLR first, then adding tuning components like this shock tower as you develop your RC skills and knowledge.
