Key Features
- Genuine Kashima Coating — The authentic Kashima finish is a premium surface treatment applied by Team Associated that significantly reduces friction between moving internal components, allowing your shocks to work more efficiently and respond faster to track conditions. This coating also provides enhanced corrosion resistance, ensuring your shocks remain in optimal condition even after repeated use and cleaning.
- Factory Team (FT) Specification — FT denotes these are premium Factory Team components, meaning they meet the highest standards used by professional drivers and Team Associated race teams. This specification guarantees superior quality control, precision engineering, and performance characteristics that standard parts cannot match.
- 13 x 25mm Size — These threaded shock bodies are designed specifically for 13mm diameter shock assemblies with a 25mm length specification, making them a direct fit for vehicles that require this size. The 13 x 25mm configuration is commonly used on short course trucks and buggy-style RC vehicles.
- Threaded Design — The threaded construction allows for secure assembly and disassembly of shock components without requiring additional fasteners or tools, making maintenance and customisation straightforward for serious racers who regularly adjust their suspension settings.
- Premium Material Quality — Team Associated uses high-quality materials in the manufacturing of these shock bodies, ensuring they can withstand the demanding forces and impacts experienced during competitive racing without failure or deformation.
- Precision Engineering — Each shock body is manufactured to exacting tolerances by Team Associated's engineers, ensuring smooth operation and consistent performance across the full range of suspension travel, which is critical for maintaining vehicle handling predictability.
Technical Performance
The 13 x 25mm FT Threaded Shock Bodies represent the pinnacle of suspension engineering for intermediate-scale RC vehicles. Team Associated's design philosophy focuses on creating shock bodies that maintain perfect concentricity and smooth internal tolerances throughout the full range of damping action. The Kashima coating applied to these bodies is a titanium-based surface treatment that reduces the coefficient of friction between the shock shaft and the body walls, allowing the internal shock fluid and pistons to move with minimal resistance. This results in more accurate damping response, better energy absorption over bumps and jumps, and ultimately improved overall vehicle handling. The 13mm diameter is ideal for vehicles in the RC10SC7 family and similar short course and buggy platforms, providing the perfect balance between shock volume for adequate damping fluid capacity and package size for tight chassis configurations. The 25mm length specification ensures proper mounting geometry and suspension travel for vehicles engineered around this dimension. These components are manufactured to the same tolerances used in Team Associated's factory race team vehicles, meaning you're getting genuine competition-grade suspension hardware. The threaded design allows for compatibility with standard shock components including pistons, springs, and internal shafts, making these bodies a versatile upgrade option for any RC enthusiast looking to improve their vehicle's suspension performance without requiring a complete rebuild.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What vehicles are these shock bodies compatible with? — These 13 x 25mm FT shock bodies are designed for Team Associated vehicles that specify this size, including the RC10SC7 short course truck and other platforms that use 13mm diameter shock assemblies. You should check your vehicle's parts manual or specification sheet to confirm compatibility before purchasing, as shock size is critical for proper suspension geometry and performance.
- What does the Kashima coating do? — The Kashima coating is a titanium-based surface treatment applied to the internal walls of the shock body that reduces friction and wear between the shock shaft and the body during operation. This allows your shocks to respond more quickly to bumps and track imperfections, improves damping consistency, and extends the lifespan of internal components. It's a genuine upgrade over standard shock bodies and is used on all Factory Team suspension components.
- Are these suitable for beginners? — These are premium Factory Team components designed for competitive racers and experienced RC enthusiasts who regularly maintain and adjust their vehicles' suspension. Whilst they will certainly improve performance on any compatible vehicle, beginners may find standard shock bodies sufficient for casual bashing. However, if you're serious about improving your RC car's handling and are willing to learn how to adjust and maintain your suspension, these Factory Team components are an excellent investment.
- How do I know if these will fit my RC car? — The 13 x 25mm specification refers to the shock body diameter and length. You must verify that your vehicle uses 13mm diameter shocks and has a shock length of 25mm. This information should be available in your vehicle's manual, parts diagram, or on Team Associated's website for your specific model. If in doubt, contact our experienced team at RC Model Shop for advice.
- What is the difference between these FT bodies and standard shock bodies? — Factory Team (FT) shock bodies feature the genuine Kashima coating, are manufactured to tighter tolerances for improved concentricity and smoothness, and are subject to more rigorous quality control standards than standard components. This results in noticeably better damping response, improved vehicle handling, and longer component lifespan, making them the preferred choice for competitive racing.
- Will I need to rebuild these shocks? — These shock bodies are the outer cylinder component and require compatible internal parts including pistons, shafts, and springs to create a complete shock assembly. Team Associated produces FT 13mm shock rebuild kits and individual components that are compatible with these bodies. Your vehicle's manual will specify which internal components you need.
- Can I use these with my existing shock internals? — Yes, as long as your existing shock pistons, shafts, and springs are designed for 13mm diameter shocks, they should work with these threaded bodies. However, to get the maximum benefit from the Kashima coating and Factory Team engineering, Team Associated recommends using matching FT internal components and rebuild kits specifically designed for these bodies.
