Overview

The Team Associated TC8 Shock Bladders (AS32074) are genuine factory replacement components designed to keep your RC car's suspension performing at its best. Whether you're a weekend basher enjoying your RC car UK adventures or a serious competitor pushing your machine to the limit, shock bladders are essential consumables that require periodic replacement during routine maintenance. These bladders are specifically engineered for the Team Associated TC8, one of the most popular 1/10 scale RC buggies on the market, and they play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of your oil-filled dampers.

Shock bladders are responsible for supporting consistent damping performance and ensuring reliable sealing within your suspension system. Over time, through regular use and exposure to track conditions, these components can wear, harden or deteriorate, leading to inconsistent handling and potential oil leakage from your shocks. By replacing your shock bladders at regular service intervals, you preserve the smooth, responsive suspension geometry that your TC8 depends on for competitive performance and reliable on-track behaviour. The AS32074 bladders are the straightforward, no-fuss solution when it's time to refresh your damping system.

As an authorised Team Associated retailer, RC Model Shop stocks genuine AS32074 shock bladders that meet OEM specifications and ensure you're fitting authentic components to your RC buggy. Whether you're preparing for a race meeting, conducting routine winter maintenance, or simply keeping your buggy in peak condition, these shock bladders are an affordable essential spare that every TC8 owner should have on hand.

Key Features

  • Genuine Factory Component — The AS32074 bladders are manufactured by Team Associated to original equipment specifications, ensuring perfect fitment and reliable performance that matches the design intent of your TC8 suspension system.
  • Oil-Filled Damper Support — These bladders maintain proper pressure and seal integrity within oil-filled shock absorbers, preventing damping fluid loss and preserving the consistent performance characteristics your buggy needs for smooth handling.
  • Routine Maintenance Essential — Designed specifically for regular shock rebuild and service intervals, these bladders are a consumable item that wears with use and should be replaced periodically to maintain peak suspension performance.
  • Direct TC8 Compatibility — Engineered exclusively for the Team Associated TC8 platform, the AS32074 ensures hassle-free installation without modification and guaranteed fitment to your existing shock bodies and hardware.
  • Affordable Replacement Option — As an inexpensive spare component, these bladders provide excellent value when refreshing your suspension, making it economical to maintain your RC buggy in top condition between major overhauls.
  • Smooth, Consistent Damping — Replacing worn bladders restores your suspension's ability to absorb impacts smoothly and consistently, improving handling feel, traction and overall driving experience across all track conditions.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated TC8 Shock Bladders (AS32074) are precision-engineered rubber components manufactured to strict OEM tolerances. These bladders function as flexible seals and pressure chambers within oil-filled dampers, maintaining the separation between damping fluid and air chambers whilst supporting consistent shock absorption across the suspension travel range. The elastomer material is formulated to withstand repeated compression cycles, exposure to mineral oil and the thermal stresses of competitive RC racing. When installed fresh during shock rebuilds, these bladders restore the damper's ability to provide consistent force curves during both bump and rebound phases of suspension movement. The significance of maintaining proper bladder condition cannot be overstated — as bladders age and harden, they lose their elasticity, leading to increased friction within the shock, inconsistent damping behaviour, and potential oil seepage past the seal. For TC8 owners running in the UK's demanding track environments, where outdoor clay courses and indoor carpet surfaces present varied suspension challenges, keeping these critical components fresh ensures your buggy maintains predictable handling through every practice session and race heat. Installation is straightforward during routine shock maintenance, requiring no special tools beyond standard shock rebuild equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How often should I replace my TC8 shock bladders? — Shock bladders should be replaced during routine shock maintenance intervals, typically every 10-20 hours of use depending on driving intensity and track conditions. If you notice inconsistent handling, reduced damping response, or visible oil seepage from your shocks, it's time to replace the bladders. Most serious TC8 racers replace them multiple times per season.
  • Are these genuine Team Associated parts? — Yes, the AS32074 bladders are authentic factory components manufactured by Team Associated to original equipment specifications. When you purchase from RC Model Shop, an authorised retailer, you receive guaranteed genuine parts that meet OEM standards.
  • What tools do I need to install new shock bladders? — You'll need your existing shock disassembly tools and a shock rebuilding kit or basic workshop tools. The bladders themselves require no special installation equipment beyond what you'd normally use when servicing your TC8 shocks.
  • Will these fit my used TC8 shocks? — The AS32074 bladders are designed for Team Associated TC8 shock bodies. They will fit standard TC8 dampers without modification, though you should inspect your shock bodies for wear or damage whilst the unit is disassembled for bladder replacement.
  • How do I know if my shock bladders need replacing? — Signs include inconsistent damping feel, visible oil leaks around shock seals, harder-than-normal shock movement, or simply completing your scheduled maintenance interval. If your shocks feel different on one side of the buggy compared to the other, worn bladders are often the culprit.
  • Can I use these bladders in other Team Associated models? — The AS32074 is specifically designed for the TC8 platform. Other Team Associated models may use different shock specifications, so always confirm compatibility with your specific buggy model before purchasing.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — Shock bladder replacement is an intermediate-level maintenance task best suited to users comfortable with basic shock disassembly and reassembly. Beginners should consider having a more experienced RC enthusiast assist or supervise their first shock rebuild.
